^Then it seems this thread should be re-titled Patong Dawn of the Dead

IMO living anywhere in LOS is statistically likely to result in a shorter lifespan compared to developed countries due to accidents, pollution, contaminated food, fake drugs, lack of maintenance, counterfeit components, structural failures, poor emergency medical care, general ignorance and lack of respect for responsibility/life/environment, corruption, infectious disease...
....As will the risk sports I participate in. Some of the best things in life are accompanied by increased risk...
The longest life possible isn't all that long anyway...

Well I hope they get on with the wake soon because the smell out in the bay is really awful when the breeze is off the shore.

Ken,
50,000bht personal accident insurance for a m/c accident medical expenses is hardly worth having.
I agree. I would be interested in an accident policy with a 50k deductable and 5m max.

And then....he stabilized....

Looks to be a poll of (clueless) visitors rather than (jaded) resident expats.

As this is topic is already many days old, I assume I'm not stealing the thread by saying congratulations for your new relationship.
Btw. How much would you ask for your single seat kayak?
Hi I think I will just buy a second single place kayak from Suripol...
-
Hi does anyone know where I might find wood and canvas 'director' style folding chairs? TIA
-
Hi I bought a nice single seat plastic kayak at Suripol shop but am now looking to buy a 2 seat inflatable like they use on the sea canoe tours - any shops in Phuket selling those? TIA

What a disgraceful admission of the administrative incompetence of the Thai government. Presumably many of these would have arrived over the past 4 years.
Maybe the problems associated with visa renewal might have something to do with it.
Just alone the time and mind draining inconvenience, travel expenses, having to put up with bad tempered, inflexible, deliberately unhelpful and inept immigration officers plus the loopy laws related to the different visas would be enough to deter anyone from bothering to renew their visa. But that wouldn't occur to them.
It's a clearly a number fabricated out of thin air.

More ridiculous reporting from The Nation. That is the newspaper that should really prohibit itself from being quoted or referenced.

Wherever you go - there you are. It's been good for me so far after 17 years here...as soon as it isn't then back to the USSA...

The same time of year they start to set all of Northern Thailand on fire...

Did she ever actually collect the amount awarded?

I live on my sail boat for several months every year during the smoky season and usually check out for Malaysia and back in to LOS at Phuket for some of that that time, and stay aboard for weeks after that before returning to our home here in the North. There is no way I can possibly comply with their TM30 requirement, so I when it's 90 day time at Promenada I shut up, smile and pay the fine or whatever hoops they want me to jump through. We live among ignorant corrupt savages - play their game or they'll tear you to pieces.

Round up the usual suspects...

Ready to tow them out to sea...

OK fair enough, but if you are not concerned about that I'm very curious why you want to know?
If it's E2 for contributory, but insufficient cause of hyperlipidemia, same thing applies really...

There is little point in getting concerned about an increased risk for Alzheimer's (which is a probability not a certainty) when there is no preventative action that you can take even if you do turn out to have the E4 isoform that predicts increased risk.
That is not my concern but thanks for the info
