  1. Hi

We occasionally need a dependable car and driver who could take us to the airport, take our teens across town, pick someone up etc.

    Maybe 4-6 hours per week

Any suggestions? Perhaps an expat family in Sukhumvit Soi 33 area would like to offset their driver's expenses through this arrangement?

    Thanks!

  2. I have always told myself that if I wanted to play the field in that manner i.e. meet well educated, attractive and single Thai women I'd focus on (1) hotel banquet sales or MICE sales staff (2) Real estate agents that work for the big firms (3) Expatriate relocation agents and (4) Medical staff at Bamrungrad. Many of them are quite conservative and it would take a "long play" but I think it would be worth it.

  3. I submitted the necessary paperwork (marriage cert etc) to the local Thai Consulate and was given a non-Immigrant O visa multiple-entry. Says I must "enter before June 15 2015" (within a year)

My understanding is that I will get a 90-day visa on arrival. Does that mean I can come and go multiple times within a year of entry and each visit will be good for 90 days? Or, must I apply for a 1 year extension on the basis of marriage (and submit the same paperwork again?)

If the latter is the case, can a law firm/agent handle this for me or do I have to go to Chaeng Wattana and go through the process?

    Thanks!

  4. I have been in two accidents in taxis in Bangkok and both times they were my drivers' fault. One time almost killed my kids. There is a wide range in the quality and safety of taxis in Bangkok and I prefer to check out the drivers and cars before I make the seat-beltless run to my house. It's not about saving a few baht or a few minutes. It's about choice--and my own safety and that of my family. For those of you who ACTUALLY answered my question, thank you.

  5. Got my non-immigrant F visa yesterday. It is good for 90 days after which I will get a new one for a year

The handling agent didn't tell me about reentry permits ;-(

    I have three questions:

--Can I get the reentry permit at Suwwanaphum (and Don Muang?)? Pretty straight forward or do I have to deal with queues?

--If I get the annual multiple entry permit for 3,800 baht will I need a new one when the 90 day visa is extended, or will the annual multiple entry remain valid?

--If I want to get the reentry permit from Chaeng Wattana, do I have to go in person or can an agent do this? Any suggestions? I like in Asoke area

    Thank you

  6. When I sometimes go a web search I see on the window on my browser at the bottom Conecting to w3.mict.go.th

Does anyone know why I connect through (or am varified against) a Ministry of Comms site (it is a Proxy? I used to see that in Singapore and Myanmar)

  7. I can get a work permit but my employer wants me to pay for it (please no comments here about that). What fee can I expect to pay?

Any other expenses? If I get non imm visa and travel monthly abroad will I have to pay a fee per reentry, or just get a multiple entry nin imm visa (1,900 baht?)

I am trying to assess any other unexpected costs here

    Thank you!

  8. What size have your A/C units?

According to your figures, your monthly energy consumption is 3385 kWh. This are 113 kWh a day, with 10 hours running time 11.3 kWh per hour which are about 38'000 BTU.

I assume, that the bill is ok…?

Juehoe- Can I PM you about this? I have a question. I'd like to do these calculations and see how we compare
