Are you looking for a system to generate a majority of all of the power that you use? How much is your PEA bill monthly? Power is only generated eight hours each day so you will also need to store power for your needs at night. I put in a hybrid system last year. PM me if you have questions.

PM me if you are still looking for a name and number.

Just to make a point, outpatient costs are not always as low as you might think. i can speak here from personal experience.
When I was having radiotherapy at Chula, in Bangkok, which is a Thai Red Cross hospital, each session cost 4000 Baht and I had 30 sessions over the space of six weeks. The sessions were all done as an outpatient and the total cost was far in excess of the 40kBaht that would have been provided by the mandated insurance scheme.
In the same year, I also had eight hormone suppression treatments, again as an outpatient, at a cost of 20kBaht per session so the 40kBaht insurance cover would not have gone very far at all.
I think that this points out two things: outpatient treatment is not necessarily cheap and also the cover offered by the mandated insurance scheme might well be woefully inadequate in some cases. I'm not defending the scheme in any way - seems like a nice little earner for the insurance companies and of little practical value.
Would outpatient insurance cover these treatments? I agree outpatient treatments can be expensive but the Bupa and Aetna polices that I have had would only cover part, not all of these costs. My concern is the cost of the outpatient insurance vs. what they would pay for. Self insuring should be considered.

The big question is if and when this will apply to Non-O retirement extensions. Some of us already have Thai policies for inpatient and or international policies that cover Thailand medical expenses. Outpatient coverage is just not cost effective as the outpatient costs are low, the policy prices are high and the coverage is minimal.

That´s it, they win!
Me and my father 66 + 90 have to leave (as retired). Myself have been here for 13 years, retired and investing heavily in Thai economy. Thanks for that!
Facing the facts, visiting Thailand as tourist will be the future opportunity.
The 2 x 800.000 Bath plus some insurance of over 200.000 Bath a year, gives a lot of dream travels possible. Maybe a settle down somewhere else, where they appreciate retired people, with money and efforts to take care themselves and some people around. ????
You and your father should be able to get extensions with a single 800,000 and your birth certificate blessed by your embassy.

Jomtien has a lot of empty condos. Decent ones with a nice pool starting for 6000 baht a month. Western food and in many cases a short walk to the beach.

Rabies is 100% fatal. Either bring the dog to get tested or get the shots.

You can see the haze in the air. Very discouraging for September. With neighbors that burn nightly it is difficult to see a resolution to this.

Paying online using their iservice, as stated previously works well paying by credit card.

Homepro is not the cheapest but can install it if purchased there. If you bought one already and still need an installer please PM me.

Sripat has a young Dr. who speaks English and is excellent.

Try Sripat. Mixed reviews on ThaiVisa but all of my many visits have been very positive and professional. Be prepared to wait. Bring something to read. Good luck.

A lot depends on the learner and the commitment. Learning the Thai letters is important but often skipped as I did when I started. This is a very basic class that can also be learned individually prior to taking a class.
Started with YMCA. Learned some Thai. Met some great people. More of a casual learning environment.
AUA is much more serious and intense. A little intimidating for the novice.
Payap is even more intense. Assessment prior to enrollment. As stated by another this is more geared for language fluency. Good teacher and class.
Never tried CMU.
Not all classes are geared for all learning styles. Sit in on a class before signing up.
A lot can be learned by a dedicated learner without classes. Many great tools available now.

+1 for this place.
They do Goodyear Duraplus which are dirt cheap, though not sure if available in your exact size. They include wheel alignment/balancing and will rotate tyres every 10k and fix punctures for free.
And add Helium also for free.

After doing a lot of research the big Goodyear shop diagonally across from Thepenya Hospital is the best I found for price and service. Give them a try.

If the son or daughter is on a retirement visa and has a birth certificate the mom can be added as a dependent on the son/daughter's retirement visa with no income or 800,000 requirement.
