My kid tells me her friend's dad has one of those wine cellar coolers for his large selection of bottles, they drive a merc, own several homes. Alot of rich Thais around.
Hi-So Thai men (ie at or above the wealth level of falang tourists) would find the calibre of females pursued by farangs as worthy of derision, not jealousy.

As a long-stay expat, would a Wise card used in this way allow you to withdraw THB from ATM's in Thailand without it registering on the TRD's radar for possible tax? There's no passport involved to identify you when using an ATM, just your name and card number, and the Wise card would be issued in the UK, so the TRD have no obvious way of linking the Joe Bloggs withdrawing 20K Baht/day from various ATM's with the Joe Bloggs who's been living here for 20-odd years and might be liable for Thai tax on the funds he remits to Thailand.
Check Wise cash withdrawal limits before you make lifestyle changes on the strength of this

As long as it's "probably" against "probably" here's my two cents (and trust me I talk from some knowledge on the matter):
In cases with as much publicity as in this one IB dumps their "interpreter/translator" help without as much of a how do you do. The guy would find himself with a cancelled visa the next day. Yet he's gone away with what should be criminal charges and imminent deportation.
(Not to mention these guys don't drunk-brag "I'm the tor mor", no. Too stupid even for a Brit.)
No good sir, we're dealing with a Snitch here. Good old snitch, inflated to the point of self-explosion yet still too valuable for the IB to be dumped 😂My immediate summation too
There have been similar wannabees in the past (I recall a delusional running around with Pattaya Police some years back)
They usually follow the same route, being fronted up as the farang agent provocateur in raids etc, general grass/informant which denigrates into their deluded belief that they hold actual sway/powers
The 'do you know who I am/who I know' all fades to nothing - as here - when their egotistical outbursts sublimate into media exposure

Hey, there actually are some villas in Thailand, in fact a complete Italian village - not far from my villa (house) 😁. Not sure if the tower leans though 😁.
Its actually quite a sight as you pass by and see an entire Italian village on the hillside. You can be forgiven for wondering if someone slipped something into your drink last night.

depends which 'Law' you're referring to:
