I received written confirmation yesterday from BOT that foreigners ARE included. I then requested BOT to communicate clearly to all banks that foreigners ARE included so as to remove the mass confusion across the banks and their branches.

 

I will be going to my bank again next week and if they still tell me foreigners are not included I will show the branch manager, who speaks perfect english, the email from BOT so she can instruct her staff that foreigners are included.

 

With regards to the transfers already done, I'm not surprised you had no issues, as this does not officially come into effect until Saturday July 1st, even though some banks are already applying it.

Would you consider posting a printable (anonymised) jpg of the letter?

It would alleviate/truncate many peoples dealing with these inepts.

As for SCB I tried to accomplish this at their main Pattaya branch a while back and posted my experiences (elsewhere)

Joking aside, its not anything new. Way before covid in the crest of the flag following wave of Chinese tours they were being bussed into a Wat local to me. First to Wai an outside effigy  and then into the main temple hall were a great "U" of tables awaited with Chinese sellers of amulets salivating in anticipation. I had a quick perusal myself (between busses) and whilst no expert I know enough after all these years on the ground here to know rampant scamster pricing when its on show.

The (missed) point I made is that they are VENOMOUS not poisonous as (mis)reported

I suppose the alley is now wall-to-wall with YouTube vloggers salivating at the hope of a repeat - being that they missed such a click bait opportunity

If it's poisonous, just don't eat it.
