  1. Cant you do overseas transfer with your Thai bank's online app?
  2. Deal with it in the customary Thai way poison the dogs
  3. All rather damning when an alleged 'surge' defeats their resources. Aircrafts and their contents don't arrive as a surprise do they. Airline slots are preordained, and passenger manifests known. Basically the airport could plot precise arrival numbers to be handled hour by hour. The inevitable cornerstones of Thai pi55 poor planning, complacency and ineptitude at play as ever they were.
  4. Anyone who expected anything different be sure to pay up for all your psychiatric help here as the magic fund wont pay for it if you don't
  5. Maybe he can ask the genie in his new found lamp to do away with the queues Hassle - inundating visitors outside er the Immigration office (oh the irony)
  6. Shoulda tied it down sport (sorry that only applies to kangaroos)
  7. What went ye out into the wilderness to see?
  8. Lack of logic has never been an impediment to them previously
  9. Should also have mentioned that SCB does allow the set up of a second Thai number on the App, and you can elect which is used. I don't know if this is unique but certainly Kasikorn won't allow a second phone #. I once had the dire situation of a Thai SIM that albeit in validity etc simple failed while in the UK - then you are stranded as far as your OTP's are concerned. Since then Ive always had a backup 2nd Thai SIM.
  10. Been using SCB overseas with Thai AIS SIM for over a decade. Absolutely easy and free. Make sure you have roaming opened before you leave LOS. If you have the foresight to be running a dual SIM handset set the data to the home country SIM to avoid punitive costs. The OTP SMS's will come through without charge. Keep your Thai SIMs validity topped up with the SCB 'Top-Up' option in the mobile app (check balance/validity with *121# send using Thai SIM - again free)
  11. Its a little known often under-reported side effect of diabetes in the over 60's
  12. This is Thailand they shouldn't have been shocked at all
  13. I suppose the burning question is Does anyone in authority in Thailand bear sufficient control of their synapses to exert a scintilla of cogent thought before opening their mouth to spout impulsive proclamations every time their knee jerks?
  14. Oh, for a moment I thought this was leading up to settling it by a swordfight of champions ????
  15. "never mind the shallow breath check out the deep pockets"
  16. Just when you came to terms with digital nomads now there are urinating nomads
  17. ??? very naive A helmet is no 'hand of God' magic wand and certainly wont stop the fracturing of its contents. The slower the speed and the more spread out the impact the more they protect.
  18. Seems like a fairly standard UK one year / multi trip/ worldwide travel policy The most poignant aspect which differentiates these type of policies is the TRIP DURATION (here 30/31 days are mentioned in the link) - these trips are deemed to begin and end at home address in the UK. In basic terms you can have as many trips in the year's overall cover as you wish so long as individually they all comply with the maximum days duration limit. This is in no way the 'fine print' / 'small print' accusation - which is and always has been the catch all cry of the hard of thinking. *** Typed as 'biggles' made the preceeding post ***
  19. Remember one some years back when Pattaya police tried to shoot out the tyres on a fail to stop vehicle (seriously) from opposite sides of the road at the same time ????
  20. Yes Your intervention was timely indeed and no doubt deflected their overt intention of annexing the country. p.s. keep checking your door handle for novichok ????
