  1. A common malaise with drunken inepts - always follows the same plot points: Pickle themselves in booze to the point of emboldenment Start a fight they are doomed to lose Then cry to the police proclaiming themselves the hard done by, blameless victim
  2. On funerals and hospital bills
  3. If only Ukraine had known all it needed was a fence
  4. Its a simple equation that leads to the obvious answer, none of them were adjudged capable of being able to pay the loan. But bundled together on a 'jointly and severally liable' basis the finance supplier felt confident enough to take the risk. And that is the problem - the pull on their heartstrings overpowers what little common sense they have.
  5. A futile lament Ive actually asked a local about to sign on the dotted line if he'd be prepared to use his house to get finance for a new pick-up and then give it to his friend in the hope of him paying him back for it. This was met with abject horror at the very thought of it, but the tacit fact that it was in essence no different to the guarantorship he was so eager to embark on - was something beyond his willingness to accept.
  6. It's just the monotonously repetitive cycle of life in Thailand were each successive generation does the same old idiotic thing. Despite the never ending telling of these situations, people are content with the delusional notion that standing as guarantor has no repercussions.
  7. Slightly less violated than if they'd been helped along by some Mongolians
  8. Well is he only speaking about his fiefdom of Bangkok? And even so who is he going to enlist to enforce his fanciful notions? - the lacklustre brown shirts? (who on normal, non manic, days can't even get plastic hats on motorcyclist's heads with any degree of effectiveness).
  9. Not only do you proclaim yourself clueless as to the worst kept 'secret' (widely known about for many years) in Suvarnabhumi: the best rates downstairs near the slip down to the railway - but then offer up this gem, even using the full Xe rate for JPY getting "3-4 Baht lower than the actual rate" he would have at best been not worth robbing or more likely found himself in negative exchange territory.
  10. All a simple misunderstanding the little Irishman was just carrying out his duties at the end of a rainbow
  11. Seems like she's studying for a female Immigration post at Suvarnabhumi
  12. About right, for cheap hand made shoes
  13. Cant you do overseas transfer with your Thai bank's online app?
  14. Deal with it in the customary Thai way poison the dogs
  15. All rather damning when an alleged 'surge' defeats their resources. Aircrafts and their contents don't arrive as a surprise do they. Airline slots are preordained, and passenger manifests known. Basically the airport could plot precise arrival numbers to be handled hour by hour. The inevitable cornerstones of Thai pi55 poor planning, complacency and ineptitude at play as ever they were.
  16. Anyone who expected anything different be sure to pay up for all your psychiatric help here as the magic fund wont pay for it if you don't
  17. Maybe he can ask the genie in his new found lamp to do away with the queues Hassle - inundating visitors outside er the Immigration office (oh the irony)
  18. Shoulda tied it down sport (sorry that only applies to kangaroos)
  19. What went ye out into the wilderness to see?
  20. Lack of logic has never been an impediment to them previously
  21. Should also have mentioned that SCB does allow the set up of a second Thai number on the App, and you can elect which is used. I don't know if this is unique but certainly Kasikorn won't allow a second phone #. I once had the dire situation of a Thai SIM that albeit in validity etc simple failed while in the UK - then you are stranded as far as your OTP's are concerned. Since then Ive always had a backup 2nd Thai SIM.
  22. Been using SCB overseas with Thai AIS SIM for over a decade. Absolutely easy and free. Make sure you have roaming opened before you leave LOS. If you have the foresight to be running a dual SIM handset set the data to the home country SIM to avoid punitive costs. The OTP SMS's will come through without charge. Keep your Thai SIMs validity topped up with the SCB 'Top-Up' option in the mobile app (check balance/validity with *121# send using Thai SIM - again free)
