There is also no requirement in the U.S. for a "treaty" company to show a profit.
-
So a "Thai American Amity Treaty" managing director still needs a work permit it is not in keeping with the treaty as no such document, requirement is required by "Treaty" holders (Thai) doing business in the U.S. under the treaty! Same 90 day reporting, not required in The U.S..

It would appear that the tax increase is being applied to the retail price, not the tax rate!

It seems to me that here on Samui an installation on a flat roof would be the best installation.
here customers are concerned with esthetics, basically installations are ugly on most home roofs. this would allow panel orientation however you needed.

Upgrade has really put me off ThaiVisa. searches, following many problems with access. probably not their fault , just new regulations and rules.

YES, took the refresher course not long ago, Thai Red Cross offers a course in CPR also.
But , yes the previous poster is correct, not much good if YOU need it, yes needed for cardiac arrest as well as drowning. Good to know!

So being legal, paying taxes, jumping through government hoops at every turn, teaching my Thai Employees proper engineering skills. I could go on, but Evidently it was all for nothing when I could have done everything from NaNa Plaza (1984) and never needed to worry about being legal. More difficult then due to technology limitations at the time.
Visa extensions just a shout away, easy and cheap.
After I did things by the rules every thing became a nightmare, book keeper, immigration, labor,
office, being scammed by book keepers was popular back than also.
After over 40 years I think back and i would have been better off being illegal, liegal they can trace you, scam you, intimidate you, threaten you. Why you are easy to find and they can always find a problem. This got better when they were required to have a warrant, not to just barge in and search your place of business.
To bad as I had High Hopes for Thailand in those days, never happened and appears it never will. And no one seems care anymore.

I find the service greatly improved in the last year or so.
to many patients and not enough staff , but they get the job done!

I am paying tax on my income as required by Thai Law, plus Social Insurance and rental tax, over 10,000 a month.
I have no tax problems just the requirement to get a new Work Permit when nothing has changed.
I just need to know if it is a law to have a new work permit reissued every 10 years.
Especially when I have had mine renewed every year like clock work.
-
My book keeper has informed me that I am requiter to apply for a NEW Work permit. She tells me that they will no longer renew work permits over 10 years old.
I am also told that if the work permit includes more than one job description I have to pay Income tax on each listed job.
I have had a work permit continuously since 1993 here in Thailand, A new book was stapled to my old work permit book 2 renewals ago. I was told that be sure and not loose the old work permit book as they can not find my past records (I have copies).
So is this now the law a work permit over 10 years old can not be renewed and you must apply for a new one!
My company is a Thai American Amity Treaty registered company in business since 1992 here in "The Kingdom"

There not there to do your paper work for you, you need your papers in order long in advance of your arrival.
No they don't know, they are not experts, they are volunteers there to help with filling forms, translations.
They are there to bridge the language barrier mostly.
They can get answers to your questions for you, but you need to know what to ask.
If you can not figure it out get a professional company to do the paper work for you and accompany you to immigration..
The online requirements are on line and simple.

Hasn't changed in the 17 years I have been on Samui!
Was easy and painless when I was in Bangkok, I renewed my Non-B and W.P. my self.
I have had my W.P. Since 1992 contiguous & Visa NON-B.
I Pay my taxes, social insurance and so on.(personal over 5,500 a month) company taxes, VAT the list goes on and on, than there is the "yearly books" 25,000 baht and can only be certified by a hand full of "certified" auditors in "The Kingdom" !
Renew extension of stay on Samui, impossible unless I pay ( ? ) and alter my company papers.
With 7 Mil. in Payed Up Capitol they want more,
They have no Idea of what treaties are in place for foreigners that they must live up to as agreed between "His Majesty the King of Thailand" and foreign countries.
It all boils down to Credibility, which is sorely lacking I am sad to say.
So I make 90 Day border runs.
Breaks the cycle of island life I guess.
To find the paper work, documents, letters to start over would be Virtually impossible. Most records don't exist or have been lost over the years (almost 50 for most).
W.P. People stapled my old W.P. Books together with a new book and told me not to loose the old one as the records contained in the old one can not be found.

Fool me once! I never go back again.

An Att-A-Boy never hurt anyone, we use them a lot, the results are happier and more responsible people who feel good about themselves.

Ignorant people are teachable and mostly intelligent, but gullible.
Stupid is just stupid, nothing can be done for them.

In 16 years on this NonB visa, renewed every year, never ask to fill out and separate information form, always the same it has never changed.
-
40+ years never had a problem!

Aren't these protected species here in Thailand?
-
stopped ordering, bad service, long delivery, attitude!

First time 1962, advisor, permanently since 1988 with short contracts around Asia from time to time. No regrets, no problems.
The "Thai American Amity Treaty" works and has for many years. Depended on who was in power as to how smoothly things went, but all and all, it's all good.

If I remember 1997 or 1998.
The police need a warrant from the court to search a private residence or area.
The warrant must also be served by a RTP officer with at least 1 star.
Private also includes an office if only employees are are allowed in.
Now all bets are off if you invite them in. I have had 2 visits from the tax office in the past. I did not allow them in, my office is private and told them to go see my bookkeeper, they left and never came back.
If you allow them in they can look around and plant things talk to Thai employees (a no,no)
With a warrant the warrant will be specific what they are looking for.
Just my experience, but they will try hoping you don't know your rights. I have seen many Thai's get screwed by inviting the Police in for coffee or water.
Know your rights under Thai law, you do have them!

Where can I find the requirements for yearly extension of stay.
For the last 12 years i could not get it in Samui.
I had it when we were in Bangkok, never a problem.
Company in business in "The Kingdom" 26 years, have had a work permit 26 years, non B 26 years.
When we moved the company to Samui 14 years ago, I was told by Samui Immigration I would need to add another 1,000,000
in paid up capitol to my company to get a yearly visa?? i have 4X the minimum payed up capitol now in my company.
Books are and have always been correct, taxes, SS, VAT everything.
What are the financial requirements to get a yearly extension of stay.
Now I go on a visa run every 90 days.
That and I am getting to old for that now.
Thanks

Thai American Amity Companies should be eligible for a 2 year extensions also, Why Thai's owning a Thai American Amity Treaty in America get multi year visas and work permit. Under the treaty things are supposed to be equal in both countries.
Has anyone ever checked? Lawyers don't count as they always say no to everything. I will make inquiries to the U.S. State Department. Thailand needs to start living up to the provisions of the Treaty.
-
If you are American, easy under the treaty.
"Working" without work permit - new regulation?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
under the treaty, both countries need the same requirement if not required in the U.S. should not be required in Thailand as stated in the treaty.
