This topic came up at the end of 2007. Has anyone found a place in LOS to buy one of these webcams?

eBay and all online sellers i've tried don't ship internationally.

I really need one of these cams as they are compatible with Mac OS X.

If you had family income over 40K baht/month, then you could file for an one year extension of stay at immigration that would allow to stay for one year without having to leave Thailand.

I have a company and a work permit, also a 1 year old daughter with my Thai GF. I am not married but we live together and i am on her birth cert. I am 37.

Currently i still have to leave every 3 months (border cross) and go get a new Non Imm B multi every year.

If i get married to my GF can i get a visa where i don't have to leave every three months?

There are some excellent dive schools in Thailand and excellent instructors. It's unfair to suggest that operators in Thailand are lacking in skills and use substandard equipment. Ridiculous actually.

In answer to the original post. Yes it is poss to get an Ed visa. All you need is a letter on headed paper with a company stamp, from the dive school you will be studying with. This is fact. They do not need to be registered with the MoE either. You will need to apply outside of Thailand, obviously, preferably in your home country.

If you're going to work after qualifying as an instructor, why not just set up or buy a company now, ready for when you'll need a work permit.

I am quite sure your son can do PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver while he is there on his tourist visa.

By then he will probably have enough contacts to know how these things work ;-)

I imagine you can also do Dive Master and Instructor in Thailand?

I came from Seattle, which is cold water diving. We always use drysuits because it is just too cold and miserable if you do it with a wetsuit. I worked out of a dive shop and we had a new instructor come to work at the shop. He had done all his certification in Hawaii. He did not last long. He had no skills with drysuits and was used to diving in water with hundreds of feet of visibility. Around Seattle, you are lucky to get 30 feet visibility. Nice diving though. Great to dive with Octopus the size of cars.

Too be honest...I think the dive tuition in Thailand is nowhere near as good as what I've experienced in the UK.

Plus, as the above poster said, the conditions in Thailand give you a false sense of security. When it's pitch black and freezing, you have to know your stuff

Diving is a dangerous pastime. If it was my son, I would want him to have the best tuition and equipment possible. Something that's unlikely to happen in LOS

Not working in Phuket for a while now. Pffft.

I heard a rumor that i can now just go to immigration and they stamp me another 3 months instead of border crossing every 3 months? I have a work permit of course. I hold a one yr non imm b multi entry visa, due to exp in Jan. I also hear that maybe i can extend this visa when it expires in Jan, meaning i dont need to head off to a Thai embassy abroad again. Would be nice but im skeptical?

Hi i'm looking for somewhere to buy Siamese cats in Thailand. I live in Phuket but can travel to find them. Ideally looking for Seal Point, tan with dark faces and blue eyes.

I def want one, but am thinking about a male and female and might breed them later, so from different gene pools is important.

Any help greatly appreciaated. The cat farm in Phuket only breeds Persians.
