  1. There is a garage in BKK that has a black vois J manual with 70k miles if i remember rightly for 375k bht in Northburi. Looks immaculate inside and out. Also a friend of mine is selling her Vios VVT sport 2003 in gold with just over 70k for 460k bht, again it's in excellent condition as i have driven it, all city driving as well i think She has just bought a merc.

As one poster said you wont save a great deal on a car 1 year old. If your interested in either ill pass the numbers onto you.

  2. I think the OP has a point but it was is agressivness that put himself down, although it's not just the fogies that moan and groan. I'm 35, although most Thai people think i'm only 28 which is nice, but i have put that down to the fact that most older farangs tell their girls/woman they are ten years younger. That backfired on a guy in the UK when she was knocking a younger guy off in the local pub. Anyway, my point is that when i first came here i moaned and groaned about drivers, the smell, and various things. Rergarding driving i would be quite aggressive myself if someone cut me up, but after being here for 2 years now i am much more relaxed and take everything with a pinch of salt. The drains outside my apartment in the evening now smell like a be of roses.

  3. I think some of the comments are a little harsh without knowing the guys real situation. It's easy for everyone sitting in reasonable comfort to mock someone and say he can go back to his own country. There maybe reasons why he doesn't want to go back. Family issues, debt and worry, who knows. All i see is lots of peoples eagerness to laugh at others that have been unlucky or unfortunate.

Lets face it. There was realy no need for the OP to place this thread, but lets mock at the expense of other.

  4. Sorry, did you used to work for the UK government's health department in the 80's.

Grow up man, off topic and irrelevant.

    Maybe I did!

UNAIDS report identified Thailand's highest risk group: housewives.

So Mr Sweet "grown up, on-topic and relevant" Chariot, how did they contract it?

Maybe you should only reply to OP's from now on.

Agreed. Personally i would find some way of tell, without putting yourself in to much danger if possible. Is there another friend that knows him that you can talk to first.

  5. I stayed in Silom for a month the pad cost 30k per month and dont get me wrong it was nice. Internet was in and tv. Electric was expensive. I have since been in a apartment in Ladproa that cost just over 4k with True, Internet and it is very clean and suits me for the time being and has manned security as well as cctv. Minum stay is 6 months though. Not to far from the Malls etc

  6. What would be the situation if one wanted to export a classic car from Thailand to the UK. What are the regs on windows etc. I know shipping etc is an issue over the cars value, but if i can't find a decent classic then i wouldn't mind paying. I regreted selling my Paddy Hopkirk 1962 Mini before a came here on the mistake of love.

    Thanks

  7. I was in a similar situation with my ex. I bought a new Mits and was giving her mother the money as the car was in her name, stupidly at the time i didn't realise i could have taken on the finance myself.

Anyway my solicitor at the time informed me that as long as i can prove the payments came from me, i had a claim over the car despite the car not being in my name. In the meantime while the matter was being sorted, the police confiscated the car until the matter was resolved, and they were very good about it. I was in the process of arranging proof of monies that had been transfered from my UK acount to the Thai bank account. However, i didn't go through with it as a small business was also involved so i agreed to let her keep the car as long as they didn't interfear with the business.

Basically my solicitor said that her mother would have to prove how the car was being paid for, and that would have been hard for her baring in mind 10k per month was going into her account for the car which was the exact payments per month, and she had no other income.

  8. It's funny you mention that because that's exactly what happened in the end: a peace deal with Hirohito that allowed him to remain emperor

I don't think he had much of a choice, considering two nukes were dropped on his country first, with the threat of more! Try working out a deal with that guy before that happened...

Actually there was no need to drop the bombs.

    Hirohito had already lost.

Japanese army was on full retreat.

It was a political trade-off between many innocent Japanese civilians and Korean workers lives against a lot less of allied soldiers lives. The American president chose the best option for himself.

Please review the history to see the present.

What history books did you read?? If the two nukes had not been dropped there would have been a conventional invasion of the Japanese mainland in which many, many, many more Japanese civilians as well as soldiers would have died than died in the nukes explosions. And who started that war?... why should even one more allied soldier have died in a conventional invasion?

He's been reading the history books that tell the true stories about the war, not the one that are printed to make US look like a civilased nation. US were looking for a reason to enter the WW and Pearl Harbour was the catastophic event for them. And i believe there was a more recent catastophic event for them to enter the middle east.

The only people that ever gain form this is are the global elite's. Bankers, Arms dealers etc etc.

  9. How can I divide long video files (e.g. quicktime) into two, so that I can burn them onto a VCD.

I already have a program to convert to VCD but some of my files are too large (1G plus).

I need something that will work on a mac.

I have tried imovies with no success.

I was going to say Nero 8 but im not sure if this will work on mac. Either way it is very good.

  10. Quite frankly I was adamantly opposed to sending our troops into Iraq. I wasn't very popular among my expat friends. I had no problems dropping bombs down Saddam's chimney and wiping out his Republican guard but I was seriously opposed to the invasion. We are dealing with lunatics and you cannot negotiate with lunatics. I blame organized religion for most of the problems the world has ever faced. From the crusades to the atrocities today.

Religion isn't the problem. The Global elite is.

Press Release: Scotland Yard to investigate Tony Blair and ex-Attorney General Peter Goldsmith for war crimes

    Press Conference,

    Room C, 1 Parliament Street

    Tuesday 15th January 2008 3pm

John McDonnell MP, Chris Coverdale: International War Law Expert and Annie Machon of the Campaign to Make War History brief MPs and the media on allegations of war crimes committed against the people of Iraq by Britain's former Prime Minister and former Attorney General.

Officers from Scotland Yard have commenced a criminal investigation into the deaths of Iraqi citizens killed during the armed invasion and occupation of Iraq. The Metropolitan Police are acting in response to crimes reported by peace activists from We Are Change UK and The Campaign to Make War History. In an unprecedented step, the case was handed to the War Crimes division of the Counter Terrorism branch who are now investigating allegations of 14 criminal offences committed by Tony Blair, Lord Goldsmith and others. The offences are under the International Criminal Court Act 2001, which came into effect under English common law, just two days before 9/11.

Two Members of We Are Change UK and a representative from the Campaign to Make War History were interviewed for six hours at Belgravia Police station on the 20th December 2007. Evidence was provided to the police relating to the crimes of:-

    • genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and conduct ancillary to these crimes under Sections 51 and 52 of The International Criminal Court Act 2001.

    • a crime against peace and complicity in a crime against peace under Articles 6 and 7 of The Nuremburg Principles.

    • murder, incitement to murder and conspiracy to murder under the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

    • conspiracy to commit genocide, a crime against humanity and war crimes under the Criminal Law Act 1977.

If anyone want the links to the youtube press interviews PM.

  11. If I understand you correctly you are complaining that the bank employee, when speaking to you, referred to the lady you accompanied to the bank as "your lady" rather than "your woman". It may be due to my limited knowledge of English or my limited exposure to regional customs in England, but I would have been offended if my wife had been referred to as "your woman"
Normal words such as woman and wife just could not be used.

How did you introduce your wife to the bank employee? As "my wife", as "my woman", or not all?

    --

    Maestro

Agreed. To me it sound like the 'Lady' at the bank was try to be polite without putting her foot in it by refering to your lady as a lady.

  12. If I may add my two cents.

Is it not better to first find out why you are depressed?

Popping a pill will not take away the root cause.

I have extensive experience watching and trying to help my ex that was for some hidden reason always looking at the negative side of life.

She went to doctors, had therapy, stayed for a few months in group therapy and took all kinds of medication.

    Nothing helped.

This whole thing was already going on for 8 years and yes I always tried to support but was not easy.

Next to her depression she also had panic attaqcks at the weirdest moments.

So I decided to lock us up and told her she and me would not be able to leave the room before we found the root cause.

It was like me doing a hard interogating session for 3 days but in the end it all came out (I will not go into the details here).

Went back to the clinic and we talked with the shrink so he could build a strategy.

Please do not take those medicine, it will not help you.

Find the root cause of why you are depressed.

Good advice. AD's are not the answer. If you do decide to take them, look into the risks first, there is pleanty of info on the net. AD's can actually make you more depressed and even suicidal. My best friends GF died at only 23. She was on AD's for 2 years.

  13. What i find strange, i don't mean to sound like i'm jumping on the conspiricy wagon here, but the amount of new viruses that are around are incredible bearing in mind the advances we have made over the decades.

Aids supposedly spread throught the african nations, Sars a virus that supposedly effectd the Asian gene, which apparantley is in it's infancy and will generate into a more active an lethel virus over time. And this MRS virus that is spread via the gay community.

Who knows. Maybe the CT's are right and this is just the Global Elite's way of attacking the human race to reduce the population.

  14. who is the car for, you or g/f ?

if you i would get a license and have the car in my own name.

sorry for being cynical, but she is only your g/f and she is working, for 700k baht you can buy a brand new car.

i dont know how much your girlfriend earns, get her to go to a local bank and see how much they would lend her.

sounds to me this has nothing to do with a car, and is all about face.

they sell cars in all the big shopping malls every day, all she has to do is talk to the sales staff, once she has decided on the model, who will be paying for the car?

I stupidly did this and lost the car i was paying for. As someone said, if you can get the car in your name. I was under the impression i couldn't put the car in my name as thats what my GF told me at the time as i wasn't working here, but i didn't look into it properly which i should have done, and ended up loosing the car in the break up.

I bought i new Mits Pickup, despite prefering at the time to buy second hand. Is there any reason why you need to buy new. I fell for the must buy new as 'second hand cars are very no good'.

  15. I've seen plenty. Lots of old Transit Vans. Near me a bunch of market traders have them. Seen old Escort Mk1 and a Zepyher Zodiac. I love classic cars and plan to buy a BMW 2002. I'm thinking of a VW beatle as i have seen lots of them. One thing i'm not sure about is if they are the rebuilt version that were made in Mexico. As for the Austin i would love to see that. May dad had an Austin A40 sport convertable. Oh, and there is an Austin Allegro down the road from me with a broken strut, but the body is perfect, thats a first.

  16. Torture, according to international law, is "any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed
