  1. I have an account under a false name just so I can log in if I get a link I want to follow. I sure don't have any pictures of myself or personal information. I don't understand why anyone would put personal info on the net including fingerprints.

What you may not realize is that the facebook cookie lasts for 2 years.

Basically they see every site you visit, allegedly for the purpose of advertising.

This is also true even if you don't have an account.

They are tightening the net, as MrBENQ said the dream is coming true.

  2. Get to the chemist and ask for a bottle of isopropanol/isopropyl alcohol, it will remove the paint without and harm to your screen whatsoever (although the paint thinners may have already).

If they don't sell it in liquid form they may sell surgical wipes for cleaning wounds, check the label to be sure they contain IPA.

Don't use any form of ketone.

  3. I tried replying yesterday SS but I had DNS problems and my post got lost.

It's a good they are moving into the mirrorless market but everyone else are leagues ahead of them, they have some catching up to do.

What I would like to know is will there be some kind of extension tube that allows dslr lenses to be used.

If so how much light will be lost.

  4. Please excuse the badly chosen title, I was going to have a ramble at the end of the thread on why no EVF, but for all I know that may be available as an optional addon.

Was also going to mention flange distance but the new lens may compensate for that by shifting the rear lens element forward.

    http://petapixel.com/2015/04/21/more-murmurings-of-a-full-frame-mirrorless-camera-by-nikon/#more-163724

If the latest rumblings in the rumor mill are accurate, then Nikon is currently working on a full frame mirrorless camera. And it may be pretty far along as well, as the company is said to be testing out prototypes in the field.

Nikon Rumors is hearing from reliable sources that Nikon is developing a new full frame camera that’s either mirrorless or “mirrorless-styled” (whatever that means). The camera is said to be small — roughly the same size as the Olympus E-M1. The E-M1 is a Micro Four Thirds camera, so it will be impressive if Nikon can squeeze a full frame sensor into a body that small.

The camera reportedly won’t have a built-in electronic viewfinder, and the lens mount will be a standard Nikon F mount. Nikon is said to be testing the camera right now, and that any official announcement may come at the end of 2015 or at the beginning of 2016.

“The problem is that Nikon may pull the plug on that project and we will never know,” Nikon Rumors tells PetaPixel. “It has happened in the past.”

One thing that does give this rumor some weight is a recently published Nikon patent that shows a 28-80mm lens designed for a full frame mirrorless camera. If this is a camera that interests you, start crossing your fingers and hopefully it will indeed hit the market in the next year.

  5. I believe Macs use customised Gigabyte boards in their computers. Could be one of the reasons why they are now leading.

I always stuck with Asus over the years but last year switched to Gigabyte as I wanted to install OSX Mavericks on it.

Works straight out of the box with no sudo mods or kext fiddling, using TonyMacs Multibeast.

  6. It's a mission getting hold of these in the UK as all the Thai restaurants snap them up as soon as they come in.

I got some yesterday and was wondering if anyone has had any success germinating the seeds inside them?

I don't know whether to let one rot and then plant it, scrape out the seeds and plant or dry the seeds and plant or try all 3 methods.

Any advice would be appreciated on the best way to grow them, maybe your wife knows?

  7. Same here,Great share mate....that place is a toggers paradise!

Great filming, amazing skills and agility by the bike rider joined together with some wonderful music.

You have already shared a couple of nice videos mate, maybe not a bad idea to keep them in one place by setting up a photography related video thread?

Good idea shag don't rush with anything though, it needs to be thought through before taking action.

I like short movies and anything thought provoking or spirit lifting.

For example watch the short movie Fabienfred posted below called Crossing Salween, a great story, and the sad fact is it's true to what's been going on over the years.

There's another thread I made called Anomaly which is a great 20 minute film shot on a small budget.

    -------------------------

That aside...from the DM movie in this thread I would love to shoot that stone moon face statue under moonlight. thumbsup.gif

  8. No need for fan controllers all motherboards and vid cards worth their salt use software to control that. (P.S. Not knocking the guy that bought one).

You can even set up how many RPM you want per fan and even set slopes of how many RPM you want per given temp on the CPU.

You state a 610W PSU how efficient is it? Lenovo don't state that.

eg...a 610W PSU with 80% efficiency is only really a reliable 488W PSU. Capacitors lose capacity over time especially when running hot.

For PSU I would go for Corsair they are stress tested in prolonged 55 degree C heat. Heat kills PSU's.

For RAM I would go Corsair vengeance (cheaper than dominators) too as they have a lifetime warranty. Don't get the ones with the fins on unless you are going for water cooling as no decent heatsinks can be fitted on the CPU as the RAMs fins are in the way, Fins are a gimmick anyway wish I had bought the regular profile as I wouldn't have to have gone the water cooling route.

If you decide to choose your own components its a good idea to download the manual for the mobo you want.

Websites and sales can say oh it supports 2133 mhz RAM, but when you read the manual that's only if overclocking. natively it might be 1600.

8 gig RAM will do you and you can always upgrade in the future.

For CPU and gaming an i5 is adequate if you want to save some money as most of the work is done by the GPU.

If you want an i7 I suggest the older sandybridge or Ivybridge models as they are cheaper and run way cooler.

If you want quiet and cool GPU I would go for whatever GTX model you want but a Gigabyte windforce 3 model, 3 fans and they are silent even under load.

  9. If you plan on getting a 4770K or any other Haswell that uses thermal paste instead of solder under the CPU lid you will need either watercooling or a high end fan and heat sink if you want to it to have a decent lifespan.

    Especially if gaming and overclocking.

I use a Corsair H80i on 4770K (Costa Rican model) Oc'ed to [email protected] volts...with an ambient room temp of 21 Celcius, Battlefield4 tops out at 61 Celcius which is a good temp.

I would hate to see that figure with the shitty OEM fan and the default setting of 1.23 volts my Mobo has I would guess somewhere in the 90's...I unknowingly ran it like that for the 1st 2 weeks.

  10. Welcome to the forum Jeremiah, may I call you Jez for short?

Some nice shots there, I particularly like the last one. I look forward to seeing more.

You even got the ball the kid kicks to scare the pigeons! That's a perfect shot to me. Excellent!

DAL you on the Ale tonight? That's a tree. cheesy.gif

  11. It's a shame nowhere else in the world offers the same service as Nikon in Hong Kong.

Dust/dirt in your lens or camera they will dismantle and clean it free of charge while you wait (if it was purchased there), while you shoot top model cameras and lenses from a high story building while waiting.

  12. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

I'm an Aussie and have had no problems since installing the Chrome extension Hola - works like a dream with everything I need, but admittedly I have not tried it with the program you mention.

That's got me half way there I can now watch the commercial but not the program...

Buy a month at www.hidemyass.com , it's a vpn service with servers all over the world. You'll be able to choose from multiple Australian locations to find one that's nice and fast.

A sandbox or vm is totally different to proxy/vpn and neither will solve your problem.

I looked at that but not willing to spend money...looking for free solutions.

The sandbox was a safety measure to install the Trojan infected VPN program.

  13. One thing I would like to throw in if your building the system yourself.

Make sure the case you choose is large enough to fit the GFX card in, they are pretty long these days.

I had to hack 2 of the drive bays out of my old full size tower just to fit a GTX 770 in.

As someone above said a 970 will do you well.

  14. I want to watch a TV series online from an Australian site, I am not in the country.

I've managed to get hold of some IP cloaking software but it contains a Trojan, so I need to run it in some kind of sandbox or on some kind of VMware.

What kind of Sandbox or VMware programs could anyone recommend?

Does anyone know any easy way I can access said on demand TV series?

I do have some Australian proxy addresses I can use but need software of some kind.

    Anyone got any ideas?

This is what I'm trying to access http://www.sbs.com.au/food/programs/thai-street-food-david-thompson
