Received an e-mail from the Department of Disease control tonight. Now they want a Certified copy of the passport in order to process the international vaccination certificate. Just checked and it will take the US Embassy 10 days to accomplish this at a cost of 1,750 Thb, and then another 100 Thb to mail it out. This is starting to get ridiculous. God does Thailand love to make one jump through hoops or what.........Think I will just let it ride and put it in the round file.
I would think what they mean by "...certified copy of the passport...." is a copy of your passport that you sign yourself, with the double line strike thru of the whole page (another "thai thing" I have not seen anywhere else in the world....????????).

If someone asks a question and they veer off your Fauci narrative you automatically think they're trolling.
You don't have all the answers Jeffrey, I'm sorry.
Just let people people live jezzz...Your last sentence is exactly the reason why getting vaccinated is a good idea!!

If anybody else has the problem of getting an "API Error" when trying to register on the Mor Prom App: Call 02-7922333 (which is apparently the Mor Prom call center, surprisingly the guy that I had on the phone spoke decent english) and explain the issue to them. For me the issue was that they did NOT have a record of my phone number on their system (even though the mobile number was shown on my Vaccine Appointment Card that I was given!!) and therefore I could not register with the ID Number given on the Vaccine Appointment Card. The Call center staff updated the missing mobile number and I was then able to register immediately without a problem!

Myself (german) and my english friend were one of the "lucky" ones that got the first Pfizer shot yesterday morning at Siam Paragon. Both of us under 60 without any pre-existing condition living in Bangkok. We registered during the first days after they announced the Expatvac Site and we received our appointments on Tuesday evening this week. Everything was very well organised on site and both of us were rather surprised how few foreigners were there. All in all the whole process took 90 minutes. Second vaccine appointment given was for the 16th September.

Well said , I personally also have a problem with not only police behaviour but the language and manner .
if you watched the video you can hear and see how police tone a d manner changes when they addressing thai .
for some reason being polite and cordial is not needed when speaking English or speaking with foreigners, it is only required when speaking thai.
police did not ask if they could enter but demanded entry and forced their way in. Did not even attempt to listen or see what was happening .
I actually think the person that took the Video and that you can hear speaking in "English" IS actually the snitch and it was not the police taking the video that is shared on social media!!
The reason why I say that is that he very proudly proclaimed towards the end of the video that he "lives here" and that they can take photos of him, somehow i doubt that the actual police would be so enthusiastic about that.
IF that is really the case that would be the most infuriating thing for me about the whole kerfuffle....????????

Spoke to a Thai friend that arrived yesterday afternoon from Koh Samui with his wife. Apparently they had to get out of the car for a temperature check and then had to walk through a disinfectant spray "curtain" and then they were good to continue their trip....;-)

Thai culture is one thing, but on the other hand I would also assume that he would not even turn up like that at a government office in his home country! I simply to do not understand these kind of people.......

You actually think they are testing everyone in Thailand that dies everyday - which they do in uk ? Unbelievable
1.) I never said that. What I meant was that there is no excess death in Thailand (if the number are to be believed, which obviously you do not as Thais and in specific this government is only lying, according to you and many others on here).
2.) Whats your obsession with the UK? This thread should be about Japan and Thailand as far as I understand it.
3.) Are you sure that everybody that dies in the UK is tested after they die? I of course do know that a lot more people are tested over there and that virtually everybody that dies and that was previously tested positive is/was counted as a Covid19 death......

Another one that seems to be waving the flag for the incompetent faking junta manipulators. UK - roughly same size as thailand - tested 18.8 million (25% population)- Thailand tested 750,000 (1 - yes ONE %) , uk tests per million 270,000 Tahiland a pathetic 7000.
Well done UK then! How many people died again in the UK and how many in Thailand?
Ah, I forgot all the dead bodies here in Thailand are not counted.....
Can there not be some middle ground with all you Thailand haters, does everything have to be Black or White?

Using your data source
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
Both Thailand and Japan seem to be rather <deleted> at testing. Rated 144 and 153 in the world table of Covid reporting counties.
True, but then again I was replying to a poster that basically claimed that there is no testing in Thailand and as this new suspected case was found while arriving in Japan I just wanted to point out that if these numbers are to believed more people are getting tested in Thailand than in Japan.
Certainly both customers are not testing a lot, but why would you need to test a lot if there are not many serious cases (I am referring to Thailand here, not Japan...)? Sure, there can be a huge percentage of asymptomatic cases here, but then I would also suspect that there should be a lot more serious cases that would require hospital care than there apparently are.
For me personally the bottom line is that nobody really knows in any country in the world what the real figures are and I certainly do not think that Thailand is doing an exceptionally bad job at handling the situation, contrary to many other western countries in the world.

I must admit that only having lived in Thailand for 10 years, 2 years several 1 year, 6 month and 3 month stretches in Bkk and the provinces including Kow Tow as a diving instructor I have a little experience with the quite often allergic reaction quite a lot of Thais have with the truth. Lies have spewed out of this government daily.
Please do now try to "show off" how many years you are living in Thailand as there are people who live even longer than you over here, I know hard to believe but it is the truth. You apparently do not even know how to write the name of the island correctly on which you worked as a diving instructor so I am not sure how much more than me you REALLY know about Thailand and the lies that according to you the government is spewing out daily.
The way how many people on here describe the real situation in Thailand makes it sound that there should be piles of dead bodies on every street corner, that's why I put it like that.
I for example am working in a mid sized Thai company that has only Thai employees (besides me of course) and since the beginning of the year we at least temperature check all staff in the morning and in the evening and not a single person showed any symptoms. I strongly believe that the main reason why so few people are in fact infected over here is very simple: The wai!

So you are saying the numbers are all faked?
I must be blind as well as I have not noticed the piles of dead bodies on every street corner here that apparently so many of the other posters on here also "wish" to exist in Thailand.
They tested thousands of people alone after the recent fiasco with the Egyptian soldier and the Sudanese child and they did not find a single positive case or are you also saying that that was "fake news"?

They have done for years. You have to remove it from your hand luggage. Except, sometimes in Thailand on domestic they don't bother. Of course.
Thai Airways is asking you for this or the Security Staff that is employed by AOT (don't answer, I know who does it....) and I do not think they they really care if you fly Thai or not.....again, it would be easy to enforce if it is a ban for all airlines, but if it is "only" Thai??

How are they planning to enforce this ban? I assume they will ask each passenger on check-in if they carry a Macbook Pro with them? If I say no and I do have one in my carry on how are they supposed to know about that? I find it hard to believe that they will ask each and every passenger during check-in to show them their Laptop....
And even if they do, how do they know it is not a 2018 or 2019 Model, given that they look exactly the same? And does anybody at THAI actually read the Directive in which it actually says that only Macbook Pro's with certain Serial Numbers and which had their batteries not replaced yet are banned? (Assuming of course that the above reporting is correct in which it says that ALL 2015-2017 Models would be banned....)
Questions over questions.......

Happy to report that at least on Truemove-H the eSIM is working already ("of course" you have to be updated to the latest ios 12.1)! I just came back from their shop and after about waiting 15 minutes in line the actual activation took less than 5 minutes after I handed over my passport for verification.
This will come in very handy during the frequent overseas trips...???? (and yes, I do know that other phones offer dual sims already for several years, but better late than never! ???? )

If so, I would like to report the whole population of Thailand to the police......

oh lucky you , I guess they had tons of order for it to be pushed to 4-5 weeks..
anyway congrats , that 15 inch look so sleek , did you get the space grey?
and maxed out you mean you went for the 2tb storage?! :D
Yeap, I went for the space grey and by maxed out I in deed meant that I also got the 2TB storage. I know, I know....it is actually crazy to pay that much money for a new computer but as I am really professionally depending on it and plan to keep it again for at least 5 to 6 years I wanted to be as "future proof" as possible. On top of that I had already two 1TB SSD's in my Early 2011 Macbook, so I was not really prepared to settle for less....;-)

If you would have called it a partial reopening I think it would have been slightly more truthful. Would say maybe that a total of 30% of all the shops are open at the moment and would call the remaining 70% still a construction site....
