About Me

Former (retired many years ago) pool professional and executive for  12 years in the south of France for one of Europe's largest manufacturers of pool equipment. Still very up-to-date with pool construction methodology and equipment, and market trends in Thailand. Grew up with a background in engineering. Degrees in marketing and linguistics.

My pool in Isaan was built in 2005 to my design by a regional company who are still very much in business (a rarity in  Thailand's pool industry). It's a 100m3 overflow pool with several water features, and a slide for kids. All the equipment is from Emaux except a recently acquired SEKO pH controller. Disinfection by UV+Ozone after I got fed up of buying salt and expensive replacement chlorinator cells. Using a Dolphin S200 robot for the last 4 years after giving my old yellow Dolphin Swash to my father-in-law. Never had any serious issues with any of the equipment. Will probably change to a variable speed pump for the main pump when the current one (8 years old) dies. Looking at the new Dolphin M600 for Christmas 2021 (seen it working in Bangkok. Very expensive, but very nice)

Well, I bought that M600 robot (managed to get a big discount from my supplier). It's certainly a powerful beast. I now have to backwash my pool even less and the Zelbrite will probably last for another few years.
