You must have been 'the British taxpayer' to have achieved this, which is all the more surprising given you never have anything good to say about UK, & dare I wonder if you're leaving the plight of the consortium fighting for that pension to everyone else too?
I’m not knocking the UK. I rather like the place. I had residency there but that has long gone.
I knock policies. But I’m not so parochial like you blokes that you can’t separate a policy critique from a insult on your country.
As for being a tax payer, yes once upon a time. Then I left and discovered class 3 NI contributions. If you know what they are then you’ll understand my thanking the British tax payer.
As for the pensions consortium- yes, what the UK government has done is a travesty.

This is a great Brexit thread - a totally off piste Spacearyan and an ex-earls court barman, both arguing from the sides about something. Nobody's quite sure what about, but still arguing.
I think I’ve been to earls court once. I lived in Canary wharf.
That will be all, Jeeves.

Website may be Thai centric, but the topic is Brexit therefore anything to do with Thai Baht is inconsequential. What ever tune you whistle Sharon and George are not interested.
The tanking of sterling vs baht since brexit not consequential enough for you?

I would have thought the ability to do mental press-ups would be a more desirable attribute for the leader of a country.

Most of the Brexiters thought that it actually meant an actual deal of some sort, before realising it was just Boris-speak for a no deal.
Then they started pretending that they knew all along. It was funny to watch.

You mean the one that took 7 or 8 years to negotiate?
Do you think you can just copy and paste that agreement in Google Docs, replacing 'Canada' with 'United Kingdom' and be done with it?

You are correct that a weak currency does have some benefits though. Strangely you only point that when when discussing the weak AUD but at the same time use it as a stick to bash the weak GBP. Why? Because you have an irrational hatred of all things British.
Some educational reading for you.
Haha. I don’t have any of my emotional worth invested in how my base currency is doing, unlike some others here.
Nor am i actively voting against my own economic interest, just so I can clutch a useless blue passport.
Ed: as for the article, thanks for sharing something you’d learn in year 10 economics. Riveting.
What the article doesn’t say is that the AUDs long term average has been around where it is now.
For the UK, well is been downhill for a while which reflects poorly on your economy. And what year 11 economics tells you is that you don’t devalue your way to prosperity.

It matters not any more. The bold Brexiteers won.
Now they are finally starting to come to terms with what they actually won.
Get on with it.
Well, given the positively sterling response to COVID-19 the UK is clearly in good hands.

Seems like you are happy with using ID to stamp out a small problem with the consequence of a much larger level of voting disenfranchisement - usually of poorer people.
