  1. Good to be back boys !! derby this saturday 7:45 pm kick off , I'll be in one of the Bangkok areas watching it with a few of the lads and would love to hook up with some of me old mates from our forum ! even better - when we win were top :-)

  2. Also Kenny is willing to let Raul Meireles and Maxi leave. With Rodriguez , Cole and Jovanovic on £100,000 a week looks like this season's wage bill will be quite a bit lower than the last !.

  3. Jovanovic , Cole are defo going and also maybe Ngog and hopefully Aquilani , all of them gone will trim the wage bill somewhat . I've just heard Kenny wants to replace the departing strikers Jovanovic and N'gog with Hugo Rodellega .

I myself would be happy swapping them 2 for him. Obviously Lou and Andy are our starting strikers but with injuries and suspensions sure to happen I would rather we had Rodellega on the bench than those 2. Rodellega is in to the last year of his contract so looks like Wigan will have to sell , think they want 9 million but hopefully Kenny gets him a bit cheaper , even so paying 9 mill and getting rid of Jovanovic and N'gog is still a good bit of business IMO.

  4. King Kenny is not a happy bunny about your 3-0 mauling by the Tigers yesterday is he?

King Comolli - sorry Kenny - has a lot to prove this year for sure. Whether he has time to mould the new squad into a team remains to be seen.

I dont think Kenny has anything to prove. He proved it all last season when he got the team back up to 6th despite a large number of injury problems. He cant simply be expected to take that success and translate it forward into a top 4 position this season.

Also while we have done some business in the transfer window, much is left undone. We have buckets of deadwood - Cole, Ngog, Jovanovic, Aquilani etc - taking up the pay roll and we have large holes in the back 4 and a need for another striker/winger.

It is a ridiculous equation to hold the success he achieved last season as a parameter for what he should achieve this season.

    Totally agree Abrak.

Hi lads scousemouse is back in Bangkok :-)

first off I've missed the thaivisa footie banter and can't wait to get back in to it , second good luck to Sammy Lee in your future en devours , third methinks good times are ahead with Steve Clarke and Kenny and fourth its good to be back :-).

I was wondering what had happened to you, so welcome back to TV even if you do talk the usual kopite f...ing drivel, and I hope you are aware that to be comfortable on here now you will need to be fully au fait with current trends in sabermetrics.

And <deleted> are ''en devours'', typical kopite, bet you're a f...ing English teacher too.:)

Don't know you. Go and learn what en devours means , I can teach you if you want , and I'm well up to date yank :) .

Scousemouse.......Ignore ROTT, He's getting all worked up for the 12th at the minute LOL...

I have a Liverpool shirt I wear when I am in Thailand or go to the games with the number 1690 on the back and red hands on the sleves.

One week to go and I will be in Liverpool on the Piss, Can't wait for the 12th either.....

  9. first off I've missed the thaivisa footie banter and can't wait to get back in to it , second good luck to Sammy Lee in your future en devours ,

Funny. I expected you guys to be sending Sammy on his way with more of a kick up the backside than a pat on the back.

He seems to have flown under the radar in terms of shouldering blame for large recent periods.

loved sammy lee as a player but have never had a clue what he does as a coach / assistant. wish him lots of luck (not that much luck if he's working for fathead allardyce) but i don't think we'll miss him.

Your right Stevie we won't miss Sammy at all especially with Steve Clarke taking his place , still a nice guy though :D.

  13. So I ended up getting the new slim x-box 360 for 11,000 baht at MBK. I got it chipped so I can play copied games and 10 games free but only 1 pad , 2 grand for a jing jing one and 1500 baht for a copied one so I thought might aswell buy the jing jing one. The new Kinect device which sounds really sweet was available to buy for 6,500 baht but I got told that theres only 2 games you can play on it now and loads more will be coming out after new Year so I'll wait till then to buy that.

Cheers again lads for the advice :-)

    scousemouse.

p.s - I get the x-box games for 80 baht , the ps3 games were 300 baht and that was one of the reasons I chose the x-box.

  14. I got the USB chip and the external hard drive with 150 games for 4500 baht.

    nice one strange

just checked out tuk-com , shame they dont have a branch in Bangkok.

Also I've been checking out the new x-box slim consule and it sounds superb. Gonna have to flip a coin methinks to see what I end up buying :-)

    scousemouse.

  15. 1." get my console chipped so I can 15 games for the priceof 1 and get every new game as soon as it comes out BUT cannot play on-line ".

2." don't get my console chipped and can play on-line no probs BUT my games cost 1500 baht instead of 100 baht ".

Choice number 1 or choice number 2. Really is a tough one for me. I play Pro Evolution 85% of the time and would love to play it on-line but I also love buying loads of games in 1 go and that sunday afternoon off when I go through my library and play all day. Decisions decisions .............

    scousemouse :-)

  16. Any particular reason in choosing x-box over the playstation 3? They have a USB Chip thing for the play 3 out now so you can play copy games as well, and, all the games come on a external hard drive so you don't have to worry about cheap disk copies that get scratched and glitched.

I got a set of 150 games (good games) on a 500 GB hard drive and the USB chip thing for 4500 baht and it's all plug and play, you don't have to modify the unit at all.

But, you can't go online, or play online because the unit will want to update and you can't play anymore.

    Just a thought.

Its funny, everytime a person asked about xbox someone from the PS* crowd has to chime in "why you buying that?"

well. in answer to your question the new Xbox slim is out it comes with a 250 gig HD, wireless networking and is designed to use the new Kinects system, Kinects is a No remote play system, It just uses your body to play, no remote needed. also has voice recognition as well. I believe you can buy the xbox alone or bundled with kinects and a game.

The price in america is $399 or about 12000 baht, expect to pay about 20 percent more here in thailand.

    Greg

    cheers Greg

no chance of getting the x-box slim modded to play copy games then I presume and do you know anywhere in thailand is a good place to buy ??

    thanks scousemouse.

  17. I paid 5000 baht for a second hand play 3 with 2 controllers and that's it. It's a full size one with 40 GB of memory. I usually only have about 3-4 games using memory at one time so it's fine for me. I usually play until I beat the game, then delete and start a new game.

I bought the PS3 at tuk-com in pattaya, and the USB chip/external hard drive set on the 4th floor of MBK in Bangkok...

Play hard in MBK because they wanna charge 8000 baht for the USB/external set. Shop around.

The USB chip I got has a BIA sticker on it and is small as he'll. The external is a 500 GB unit and it says PROBOX on it.

    cheers strange ,

i'm off to fortune town to have a look and i've told my bird who works in mbk to have a look for the usb/external set. You say the want to charge 8000 baht for it so i believe this is a bit on the expensive side right , so what is a good price ???. And does the ps3 suffer from over heating much ?? , according to dave111223 the x-box does and that is something we no likey :-(

  18. If buy a modded console then you will not be able to play online.

Its a simple choice do you want access to a huge game library and play home alone or a smaller, legitimate, library and play online.

It was simple for me because I know I find myself mostly playing a handful of games even when I have a big library to choose from.

The other drawback is that with a big library you rarely get a chance to complete the game and enjoy all of its content.

Yes you pay a bit more. Its about 1500 baht for a brand new game, but you can get secondhand games for much less. But for me, its worth it.

it is a tough choice .................

    Cheers Strange ,

I was originally going to buy a PS3 but thought the copied games were hard to buy when compared to the x-box and now the copy rights are dead and both consoles have the same games to play i thought i'd make a change and go to x-box. Your bit of info is going to make my shopping trip a lot longer tomorrow !!!.

Could I ask how much you payed all in for you PS3 ?? , a friend of mine payed 11,000 baht for his x-box 360 with 5 free games and chipped 250GB.

    thanks again

    scousemouse.

  20. Hi Guys , scousemouse here long time no see :-)

I'm going to be buying an x-box 360 soon and was wondering if any of you fine chaps :-) good give me a bit of info. I've been wondering what to get , obviously I want it to be chipped so I can buy my games cheaper but i've heard that if you get it chipped then it stops you playing on-line , is this true ??. I'm going to buy it at fortune town but if anyone knows someplace cheaper then I'll check there out. Also , what size hard drive is best to get the 4G , 120G or 250G ??. Any other info would be much appreciated .

Thanks a lot lads and i'll be back on soon :-)

    Scouse.

  21. Just read the usual " we hope Liverpool fail " crap the sunday lot like to write about us to sell a few more papers , it was written by Chris Bascombe though.

They lead with the headline " Torres To Quit " but that sounds like a load of ba-lar :D .

The article goes through a few things , mainly about who is likely to leave. I wouldnt mind seeing Dossena and Voronin leave to help raise cash seen as Rafa is getting no money for January but it sounds like Rafa is going to sell Ryan Babel aswell to raise money which would be a shame. Cant really blame Babel , he needs to play regular first team football ( something Rafa doesnt give him much of :D ) so he can be in the Dutch squad for the world Cup , and I do wish we still had Steven Warnock :D .

Its looking likely aswell that the boy Van Nistelrooy will be joing us in January :) .
