ok, but I was hoping for personal accounts of which roads are more difficult than others. It was through using google earth that I slipped up as you can't see the sections of the road underneath the expressway, some of which were very unpleasant to cycle along.

I think more needs to be said here. There have been lesser known clubs in the past that didn't opt for pre-mixed main stream nonsense, and didn't really take off because of it, and there have been places which did and kept going for some time, Lucifers obviously springs to mind here. There were others who invested serious money in BKK, such as the Ministry of Sound, only to fold within a year or two. Until we know more about the dj, his style and set, I suspect you are taking a risk in turning up.

HI guys, I started entering the city on my bike about a month ago and generally enjoy it. However, I went to visit a friend the other day and went along a section of Praram 9. It was a pretty unpleasant experience I can tell you as the way the expressway joins up with it makes it very difficult for cyclists in places. I was wondering if anyone could mention any other roads downtown that cyclists should try to avoid.

What a strange post, when I say two, they normally mistake it for 343,759,966,004,373

Spoke to them about this last week, they said to just turn up. You will need documentation even if its an internal flight, standard procedure.

Gadoy is a Khmer word for the female private part 'tem', I am assuming is full, the first word is difficult to be sure, depends on how its said. The meaning could be idiomatic, someone else will have to answer that.

Best breakfast I ever had was at the Dusit. Secondly, the Robin Hood isn't bad and unlike many places actually opens at breakfast time.

It's quite normal. Children need more time for two languages and cannot distinguish between them well at 3. I would only worry if your child gets to 6-7 and there are obvious difficulties.

You may have won the battle mate, but the war is a different story, as you are fighting on her territory. Sorry to hear that your partner has turned into a bit of a nutter. It sounds like she doesn't care about your children at all, if she did, she wouldn't expose them to such things I'm sure.

Hi all, I learnt Vicious CIrcle (wong jon ubaat) the other day, and then saw the THFC manager make a mess of his English by claiming that Arsenal are in a 'Negative Spiral'. The collocation is of course 'Downward Spiral', which I don't know in Thai. Anyone care to comment?

Hi all, was walking along soi 11 the other day and happened to notice several Thai restaurants. One was an outdoor place on the corner of where the soi comes off the road and goes into a little sqaure with a bunch of other restaurants. There was another Thai restaurant near it (didn't catch the name), which also looked ok. Has anyone been in either? What about the one with a garden a bit further up?

I think most of the boats suffer with the same problem in that part of the river. As is normal for BKK demand outstrips supply. You can certain of a bout of serious illness if you swallow any of that water whilst swimming for your life should the worst happen.

Just to let you know, the Man.U bar is now the Champions League bar.
An obvious place would be the Man U Bar on soi 11 but I doubt they'll be open.
There's usually somewhere in Queens Park Plaza that'll have it, soi 22. You might have to ask them to put it on though.
Another place I can think of is the beer garden next to soi 12 (Sunrise Tacos, V8 Diner, etc). Good if you want something to eat.
Personally I like to watch games at Huay Kwang Terrace or at the hotel's beer garden on HK junction (Thai commentary). Nowhere near Sukhumvit but traffic isn't really an issue at that time. Also good for (Thai) food.
Another place I like is Shadow(?) Bar on Soi Cowboy but I'm not sure they'll stay open for it. -
Can be done yourself quite easily..........
Go to Control Panel>Network Connections and select your local network.Click Properties, then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).Click Properties. - this is the Internet Protocol window. Select "Use the following DNS server addresses" and enter the desired DNS server(s) in the space(s) provided.
Thanks, I'll give that a shot and see if it works.

Does anyone know a bar that will stay open late and show tomorrow's game? I was hoping to find one on sukhumvit.

Hi all, its rare that I encounter problems that I can't solve myself but this is one. I am currently signed up to a one year contract with true. However, we moved apt not so long ago and since then I haven't been able to use the wifi in the new apt. The service provider is True in both cases but all I get is the check DNS settings page when I try and open a webpage. Is this a case of my laptop being registered with a specific address, preventing me connecting to another with the same service provider? I can use any other provider such as tot with no problems, but when I go home I just get the no connection check dns settings. If I could change them myself I would. Help required here.

I wonder if we will ever see an article concerning police who sell drugs.

Thanks, if you want to see all the games, I have found out that The Crossbar on Suk 23 will be showing them.

Hi all, does anyone know if its possible to watch the luton v millwall game, the first of the fa cup matches anywhere in BKK today?
-
As long as your child has regular exposure to both languages, they will learn accordingly. Language acquisition will take longer, and it will take time before your child can differentiate between both languages, so even at the age of 5 you would still be likely to get some utterances that are a mix of L1 and L2.

Don't send your child to school in Thailand if you can avoid it.

That's what I was thinking
Bicycle Unfriendly Roads Downtown
in Cycling in Thailand
Posted
Yeah, I guess a main consideration is the volume of traffic. For example I noticed that cycling along Suriwong road is much more pleasant than Silom. I guess its finding the less used roads downtown. I wonder if there is a map for volume of traffic in BKK?
