Best policy I found in Toronto was online.  The company will insure up to 80 years old.  For me, 78 years old, they would provide health insurance up to CAD500,000 per annum for a cost of CAD 1,470 for one year.  However, that was only for outpatient care.  In hospital care, including bed, food, all medical services (operations, medication, ambulance, etc.) were not included and they did not specify how long or how much that could be.  Medivac was not included either.

    'nuf sed.

What company or send a link please.

  2. Suck it up people Laws are there for a reason "To Save Lives"

I only wish they would enforce the existing rules like helmets and only two people on a  motorcycle or going the wrong way on the road. Kids driving motorcycles without a licence. Burnt out tail lights or no lights at all.I could keep on going and fill a book about it. Buses or baht bus with people on the roof or way overloaded, there should be limits and rules put in place for them too.People are upset and yes a four month window would have been good but it still would be the same because no one would change or follow the rules until they are fined and then cheaper to pay the 100 - 400 baht fine then make to trips after all ticket good for one day just show next policeman went he stops you. Enough of my rant.

How long do you know your GF? You are aware that you would give the money to her as "gift" and have no rights to that house when your GF decides to leave you after you paid? Never buy a house for your GF / wife, if you can't afford to loose all the money and continue with your living.

Finally, whether YOU would want to live in that place when you retire (and still are with your GF who is the owner of the house) is something only you can decide after having visited.

    1. - a half Year

    2. - not a Gift its for her and my to live there when i get retired next year.

3.- i cant lose it is my last money that i saved for my retired live

First she want buy Land then build not a full Furniture House.

You cant own the land.. the house you can own for a while with 30 year leases. My advise run.. but I agree with others .. your probably a troll because nobody would buy something for the girl you only know half a year that you can't own. They can kick you out at any moment.

Is just a idea she asked my, but i have also to decide waht i do whit my Pension we still discuss.

    Mr thaipaul! Wake up!

She doesn' want to lower your rentexpenses!  She wants your money! If you not are very careful and less naive, you will be back in your homecountry within a year, without any of the money, you had saved for retirement!

So for starters rent a place, you can probably get a nice townhouse in Pattaya for 10.000/month on a long contract. If you later want to own something, consider buying a condominium which you can do in your name. A lawyer will be able to help you.

Living in the sticks outside Khon Kaen, in a house owned by a girl you met in a bar on a holiday, is a recipe for disaster!

Sorry to be so blunt, but I would hate to see another one taken to the cleaners.

    Good luck!Posted Image

I agree 100% with the above.Rent and then if you want buy a condo in your name.Just visit up country don't build. You will lose it all.

  4. Baht 10,000??  That's usually the on-screen limit.

So go to another option, like "options" or "other," also on-screen.  There it asks how much, normally can get up to baht 20,000.

AEON was baht 25,000 but last month dropped down to baht 20,000.

In addition, if you're using an international bank debit card, might need to check the ATM limit from your foreign bank, and if a low limit, ask that it be increased.

I have taken 30,000 baht out at one Aeon branch but last week at a new branch the limit was 20,000 baht.

  5. We have always used car seats in Thailand. The family were a little amused until we explained the reason ( it is all about education - we get it they do not ).

It is simple they are there to be used

Some bk taxi's still do not have seat belts to strap the car seats in the back

We had twins in December this year and bought two car seats for the trip back home upcountry by van.I went to install car seats in the new van.Well there isn't any.and this is a brand new van.So with van already packed full we headed home with kids in unrestained car seats. Now at home seats bases are in the back seat all the time ready to go.There are all kinds of car seats and booster seats in Bangkok if you are willing to pay the price. After all they are your children.
  6. I don't want to watch it either but whether you are on a bike or driving a car or truck you have to watch out for the other idiots on the road.I don't know how many cars and trucks have flashed there lights at me and kept coming striaght for me in my lane where I am in the right of way but must slow down and get out of their way.A friend had his truck total and almost lost his life when a transport truck ran him into the ditch. The buses are the worst drivers on the road in Thailand followed by the big trucks and then bikes drivers who don't give a dam.
