  1. Years back I had bought insurance from a Farang style company but cannot remember the name..They used to be in Mee Chok plaza but did not see them today, where did they move to? Or where else to go? Thanks for any info....chorizo

  2. I think there are some, not really looking for farangs, just thought if there was a bar it would be a good place to start. I do know a few places to go at night n maybe can run into a old thai friend too. Nice talking with ya...dan

  3. I have been back to Takhli several times, on base a few times. I was there sept 67 to sept 68. Talked to Winnie several

years ago, even though I did not know her from 67.

    where you l;iving now?

  4. Hi, going to lopburi for a few days and wondering where farang bar restaurant may be.. would like thai from the area to tell me what to see ..wats etc. I have been several times but not for 10 years... I am an expat living in cm so not a tourist....I was stationed at Takhli AFB 49 years ago and will go there next. thanks....dan

  5. I had a Hamburger and fries, enjoyed both..nice bun...another day I had the hot wings, they are the best in Chiang Mai....

New opening will take awhile to catch on , have not been there at nite n understand it is doing good.

Think their menu will expand in the near future...I am sure it will be great...chorizo

  6. Question of who files..renter or owner of land n house..... take your Thai wife and go to Promenada Imm office and talk only to the office manager. Calling in will get you some staff that probably does not know the correct answer. And a Thai will not tell you that they do not know...

As for all our posters on TV, each may read the rules different.

What I have posted is what the office manager at Promenada office told my friends.

As to OP, if you go there, take the fine paper with you and tell them what happened. They probably can not reverse the fine but will give u an answer on renter owner issue.

Even if u have to go to Airport Immigration cuz of marriage visa, in future I would file at Promenada for form TM30.

  7. My Farang friend went to Immigration near Airport. Got fined 800b.

So they called to Promenada Imm. and received different answers to all the questions you guys have posted.

One office say one thing the other says different.

Along with another Farang friend and his wife, they all went to Promenada. The thai wifes asked two different staff and not the same answers.at the same office.

Ok they started over and went to the head man running the office.

In my original post is what he told them...

    No fine for now.

Yellow book does not exempt you from filing.

You leave the country (border run) you file again.

I have heard of owning a condo and renting a house in another town.....maybe they ask the landlord to not file that they will do at their condo...?

This is a new question that Immigration may have to answer like at the Expats club?

That would be a lot of paper work doing that many times...and wasted time for both parties....

I filed with my thai wife at Promenada, TM 30 form, copy passport, front page, and visa, arrival card n stamp. Plus I had copy of yellow book. They wanted the wifes house book but they took mine. Took about 10 minutes...

T.M.30 is about the Thai owner of the property not the renter....

  8. According to Promenada Immigration: Owner of land - house has to use form T.M.30 to report Alien living there. Does not have to report where u are in Thailand as hotel..Resort where you are staying does this.

If foreigner leaves Thailand, comes back stays in say.. BKK for a few days(hotel reports) and comes back to his residence. Owner has to file TM30 within 24 hours. You do not have to tell them when you are leaving Thailand, as they know this at airport IMM.

Sept. 2015 they started enforcing the Law again. Many people do not know this. And if your Thai wife owns the land and house, she has to file the form TM30. Or if you are renting, the landlord has to..

If you go to Immigration near Airport, they will fine you. Go to Promanada IMM. and they will not. Maybe they are giving some lead-way until all have signed up the first time.??

If you go to visit friends in Thailand to stay a few days( Thai or Farang) they are supposed to report it also...not sure how they would know this one...

However if a friend has come to TH to visit you and stays at your house, you need to report that (TM30) within 24 hours.

  9. I never had any problem with the staff about anything. Usually a person wants to watch the game , he knows the channel and can ask the girls to change to that...not a big problem. I have seen them to do many times......

And what is with calling the owner names?? Show some respect.....

  10. If one has visited for the 6 months (on a ten year visa), how long do they have to stay out of USA before they can come back for another 6 months.

I have a friend that would like to stay 7 or 8 months, is there a way to extend it while in USA.

    Appreciate any info....

  11. Thanks for the reply. But the large rolls I have seen are not emery cloth..too stiff and finest I have seen is 120 grit. I am looking for 180 or more...Help the man prepping my steel fence to paint...

  12. if you come to do the Ultrasound, have a trusted Thai speaking friend with you, so he hears all that is said to the doctors. Do not let her talk alone with the doc. YOU arrange the USound with hosp. Then tell her the day u take her.. Doc should be able to tell you almost to the day how far along she is.

DO NOT tell her why you are doing the Usound ..have her send a picture showing her belly..should be quite large by now....make sure "her" face is in pic too....

Doubt she could bribe a doctor to fake an DNA( I have done them here in TH)...if timeline shows it may be your child, DNAs can be done before child is born......again arrange it yourself at good hosp. in bkk.........instruct them to give results only to you....

Even if it is your child, nothing says you would have to marry her...you don't even know her really. support the child if you like....for a sum she would probably give you the child...

Other posts have said it all....take ur time....no reason to go to Th asap...think before you leap....

    Good luck with all.......chorizo

Thanks everyone. I think it's best I do not even talk about Australia until I am 100% certain it is mine. I'm disappointed that she didn't tell me she was late with her period but then again, I'm disappointed in myself for putting myself at risk, even it it is very remote. I need to find out more details and it's hard when I'm over here which is why I was thinking of going to Thailand for 1 - 2 weeks to get an ultrasound done, ask some more questions, talk to the mother, etc,. Maybe I could get a copy of the ultrasound and take it to my doctor here in Australia?

If it is my child, then I have to man up and take responsibility.

    Thanks for your advice.
