  1. LOL, man they make and break new laws like a roller coaster, what are they doing? Must be a bunch of monkeys in a room, throwing up cards with new laws, old laws, and the cards land where they may, one day oh oh it landed with this law, the next day oh crap it came up the old law, we got to change back, can't they make up their minds with what is going on?????

This is good news though, today, what will it be tomorrow????????

I first visted Thailand 5 years ago.

Yeah, still a newbie farang, when there.

I love the L.O.S, especially the politics.

Anybody familiar with "Gilbert & Sullivan" would realise they would have had a ball writing comic opera about Thai politicians.

I have been to Thailand 4 times this year.

My fave paper is The Nation, but read Bangers post too.

Online too, if not in Thailand, have to have my daily dose of humour/farce, woteva.

    Roll on Thai politicians.

I will be back for Loy Krathorn.

    Cheers and laffs all.

PS:Tthis Thai Visa site is greatest.

I went to Chiang Mai BBQ, met a lotta guys and gals.

    Loved it all.

  2. Priceless story. There's more than one way to 'slip between the cracks.' At the old Don Muang, if you arrived at Bangkok and were transiting to Chiang Mai, you were asked to wait in the Transit Lounge, before your passport had been stamped. But it was easy to just walk downstairs and out of the airport.

Some domestic travellers fly without their passport! What about the Thai citizens who were flying internally?

I once had a special Mexican visa booklet in addition to my passport, and that booklet had to be stamped going out of or entering Mexico. I once had to walk past the queue line in reverse to find an immigration officer, and both of them were confused. Also, I later left Mexico at a border airport and land crossing, without getting stamped out (but by then, it didn't matter). When I finally turned the booklet back in (living on the Texas side of the border), I just rode my bike south across the bridge and handed it in without having my passport with me.

    Great story, Simon43.

    Talking of MEXICO.

When we drove to the border from San Diego, to visit Tijuana.

We paid our park and pay fee. Just put dollars in a box.

Then walked through a turnstile, hey presto, we were in Mexico.

    NO immigration

First sight was, just a row of decrepity Yellow Cabs, held together with fencing wire and masking tape. Touts like at Suvarnabhumi.... LOL.

There were 10 in our group, so 2 cabs and we were off on a helter skarum trip to Tijuana.

Returning was a hassle, the US Immigration......... grrrrrrrrr.

  3. Never have, and very unlikely to try one because my most common route is SIN-BKK-SIN and on that route the "budget" carriers are no cheaper than the "full service" ones. Supply & demand I guess...

... the thought of no pre-assigned seat also really puts me off!

As one who flys with Air Asia constantly, 12 flights in last 2 months.

I always pay a few Baht/RMs extra for "Priority Boarding"

Usually I get the choice of every seat on the plane.

    Love Air Asia. :D

    A flying KIWI......... LOL :o

Makes me wonder what Ppl of the L.O.S. must think of farangs, once they read the garbage here.

Will there ever be a logical, intelligent discourse in this blog, or whatever it is called?

Going by some recent postings, A BOG mite be a better name, wot ya reckon? :o
