  1. If his papers say the boundary is the same as yours, then just put up a big kick arse fence on that side of the boundary. Leave it go for awhile, wait and see, wait him out and maybe he will sell or whatever. Then if all else fails, apply for the chanote and copy his signature yourself onto the documents. Slip the land office a few baht and tell them to leave the documents with you and you will get everyone to sign over next few days.

How many laws are you advising him to brake?

  2. ibsears said,

"A punishment should be applied with a jail term but nothing to long."

What would you consider the correct length of time in jail for killing someone?

How about Hanging!!! After all what does he have to offer the human race!!

    Probably as much as you.

  3. "Balanoposthitis (generalized inflammation of the glans penis and foreskin) is commonly caused by bacterial and yeast infections beneath the foreskin of the uncircumcised male. Such inflammation predisposes to meatal stricture, phimosis, paraphimosis, and cancer."
    .

What they don't tell you is that many of the problems are caused by washing with soap. Just cleaning with fresh water is adequate and will remove most problems.

Smegma (a soap like substance) produced under the fore skin helps prevent many STD's. So don't chop it off too quickly.

I'd be interested if there are any stats on the penile cancer thing.

If its a choice between education and surgery surely there is only one winner.

  4. Importing a small 1kW Indian-made wind turbine into the Kingdom.

I am planning to import a small 1 kW wind turbine, made in India, into Thailand.

It is rather difficult, for me at least, to calculate the total import duties costs which will be quoted at Bangkok Port Customs House.

I wonder if someone has imported such an item before, and could inform me about how to proceed, so that I will not be unpleasantly surprised when presented with an invoice at Custom House.

I am interested to know what sort of paper work is involved to hassle-free import the wind turbine.

The CIF [Cost including Freight] price for this wind turbine is US$ 1.880.

The total net weight is 160 kg, 250 kg including crated export packing.

I also wonder if I possibly could import this item myself in order to avoid shipping agents fees and further transportation costs to Chiang Mai.

All information concerning importing will be greatly appreciated. Dutchdellboy2

    Sorry , slightly off topic.

Do you have a link/info on where you got it from.

Generally I've found that complete machines attract 15% duty and 35% on spare parts.

Though must admit from a slightly different field.

Shipping agents are cheap and effective , I wouldn't subject yourself to the hassle. Also agents can probably "negotiate" stringent duty assements more easily than yourself.

    cheers

  5. I think generally the mods here are doing a good job to not let discussions get out of hand / keep discussions away from forbidden topics.

They do seem to be closing threads on a much more frequent basis. It appears to be "annoying" and possibly even "sinister". But the reality is , its probably just the easiest way to moderate the forum rather than editing and admonishing(sp).

    cheers

  6. How long before they close this thread any bets

This is discussion on the moderation of this forum which is clearly against the rules of the forum.

So in theory it will be closed very soon.

Whether there should be discussion on the rules / Moderation / moderators is an interesting question.

    Cheers

  7. I used an IDP and Thai license to rent a car the last time I was in the US. No problems whatsoever.

Are you carrying a US passport? What car rental company? I heard that some rental companies won't allow a US citizen to rent with a foreign license. Non US citizen, OK.

I'm not from US but UK. But here is an interesting point.

I was informed by the DVLC (UK licensing bureau) that as a non resisdent my UK license was invalid as it must show my current UK home address. I was at the same time informed that my Thai license was perfectly valid in the UK so long as I didn't stay more tha 1 year.

    Cheers

  8. What can we say? It's easy to be against the Aussies. :o I'm always against the Aussies unless there happens to be a Brit around. We then join forces to make the Brit as miserable as possible. It's pretty easy to make a Brit more miserable because they are normally already miserable. :D

Its BS, we would have won the cup.

The refs were against us in every game.

Its so sad that the Aussies and the Septics are both out and England are through to the 1/4 finals.

We're terribly miserable that your out :D

    Cheers

Oh which company has the South African feed that you are talking about and how do you get it in Bangkok? Seeing I am not a Bar or Hotel just a normal person. :o

Not sure if this is the only company but certainly one of them http://www.jsat.tv

  10. OK folks,

I have been offered a Toyota Camry, absolute perfect condition, perfect records, 50K miles on the clock, assembled in Japan, for 20K USD.

Me being a newby, is this a good buy?

Truth is I find the Camry to be rather boring, but the car that gets me excited, a BMW 330 is well beyond what I am willing to pay.

20K for a Camry is even more than I am willing to pay for a Camry....

Any how I know the cars history, and it is perfect, never been driven hard, allways parked under protection... treaty like a baby.

So does this car justify 20K price?

    Thanks for your input

Why is the car priced in US$?

Is it owned by a diplomat?

If it is have they owned it for 5 years in Thailand.

If not its likely that it will attract duty. If They have had it for 5 years its not worth it.

    Cheers

  13. As far as I am concerned "Time Wasters" are part and parcel of the business you are in. You are in Sales.

You know the average amount of viewings that it takes to sell a property?

When one door closes another one always opens..

When I used to sell avertising space if I could not make a sale, I would just make another call. Eventually I would get the sale.. Its just a numbers game and when you are selling something "The More You Tell- The more you sell".

I can remember going to inordanante lengths when soembody said they were interested in buying something from me.. Artwork prepared, stats , charts the whole thing... send it all out ..only to be told they have put all their budget with a rival publication.... Yeah sure, its a kick in the teeth, never more so than when I had an Advertising Company in Bangkok... it was very hard to sell anybody ANYTHING, but you just have to move on to the next potential customer.

Thats life..if you are in Sales then this is what you have to deal with day in-day out.

There are easier jobs ...but there is nothing like the "thrill of closing" there is the buzz and that's what makes it all worthwhile ..and thats probably why you are still doing it !!

The politically correct thing to say would be "Good post , well said"

But I'm tired and grumpy so , how come it took twenty posts..........

  15. A few people have commented that they would like to have the chance to pay for english soundtrack on the world cup coverage.

Just interested to find out how much you'd be prepared to pay to have it in the comfort of your own home.

    Cheers

Edit There was supposed to be a poll , don't know why it didn't work :o
