Canadian passport and I plan to stay for 55 days.

I'm currently living in Tokyo and I want to apply for a tourist visa for my upcoming trip to Thailand. I've read that the Thai Embassy in Tokyo is very strict when it comes to the paperwork, well everywhere in Japan is like that.
So before I apply I want to make sure I have all my paperwork in order but I'm confused on one point. I'm a freelance graphic designer and thus don't have a business registration or license. Any ideas on what documents I can produce that will satisfy the Thai embassy to give me the visa?
2. Self-employed applicant must prepare business registration/license and bank statement.

Bangkok Podcast has a good series of interviews with a farang monk. Lots of good insight from a current monk as well as a former monk about what it's like being a farang monk in Thailand. http://www.bangkokpodcast.com/tag/buddhist/

I will be flying from Bangkok to Narita via Shanghai with my Thai gf. We have a 12 hour layover at Shanghai airport. Do either of us need to get a Chinese visa before we depart? We have no plans to leave the airport.
TIA

I'm in for Mulligans. Also D'Pelican on Suk 22 has shown the games in the past. Woodstock Bar on Thonglor 13 might show them for the Boston games.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone wants to get together to watch the Stanley cup finals. I would love to see a Vancouver - Boston series. Two old hockey clubs going at it!!

I'm surprised that the emails came back because I've found the Canadian embassy here to be very good at responding to emails. Like the others have said, just go down there and get the necessary forms. I've gone through 3 passports while in Thailand and have always found the staff at the Canadian embassy to be top notch.

Does anyone know if I can watch the Vancouver / Chicago game on TV? The next game is 05:00 on Wednesday. Is ASN playing any of the games?

I'm in for any Vancouver vs Chicago games. Let me know if you find any bars that are playing it. Game time in Vancouver is at 7:00pm which is 9:00AM here.

If you have any questions for the owner of this venture he will be interviewed on Bangkok Podcast in March. Post them here and I'll ask him in the interview.

I've figured out what the bikes are. Some of them are customized Kawasaki KSR's that are manufactured here in Thailand. Some of the other bikes are highly customized Honda Monkey's.

I live in Thonglor area and I see many custom motorbikes that look like large BMX bikes. Does anyone know where I can find out more info on these bikes?

My guess is we've seen the last of Steve Jobs at Apple. If they came right out and said that he was too sick to run the company the stock would drop like a stone. Instead they will have him play CEO while Tim Cook runs Apple and when people see that the company is still doing well the stock should balance out and then I bet they will announce that he's stepping down.
In the short term 3-5 years I think Apple will be fine and continue to do well but I'm worried about the long term potential of the company. No one really knows the full extent of Steve's involvement in the company but I suspect it's rather substantial. When Apple tried to be a regular computer company before it almost went bankrupt and after the loss of their visionary I'd hate to see them head down that path again.
I sure hope I'm totally wrong and Steve comes rebounding back better than ever but let's face it the guy has had some serious health problems and how many more years does he really have left?

I believe the owners of F1 see the growth of the sport in new markets and not in new cars. They see the market potential of bringing the F1 circus to places like India, China, etc who have no F1 history and who's fans really could care less about what is under the hood. I suspect that soon we'll see less and less tracks in Europe and more in places like Russia, China, and the Middle East. Sadly the golden age of motor sport died a long time ago and now it's just a marketing campaign for corporations.

I regularly travel between Japan and Thailand with laptops, multiple cameras and other electronic gear and have never been stopped. I also prefer to buy all my high-end electronics in Japan.

I was able to extend the visa and I also had to get a new passport as my old one was full. The Canadian embassy gave me my old passport back but didn't transfer the visa to the new one.
Can I take my old passport to the border and show them the visa or do I need to transfer it to the new passport? If I have to transfer the visa where in BKK do I do that?

No need to get 16GB of RAM for an iMac. For that amount of money you could get the base level iMac and a MacBook Air or iPad to compliment your desktop.

How do I check the monthly usage on my TrueMove account with my phone? I know with AIS there was a special code I could punch in.

Mine is a reply too. I'll try sending a new message and see if that works. Very strange.

Is it possible to extend the 15 day land border visa exempt stamp? My current visa finishes on December 7 but I'm not scheduled to fly out until December 25. If I do a border run I get 15 days but that still leaves me with 3 days of no visa. Is it possible to extend the stamp for 7 days?

Hey everyone I've got a weird problem. I recently switched to True from AIS and with the new sim card I can't send a SMS message to one specific number. All other numbers are no problem but this is one specific number the SMS doesn't go through. If I put my old AIS sim card back in my iPhone I can send the SMS no problem but can't at all with True. Any ideas why?
Trying To Get A Thai Tourist Visa In Tokyo
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Because it's Japan. This place thrives on endless paperwork and there is very little give if you don't have all the documents.
I agree that is does seem ridiculous just to get a tourist visa but I'll see what happens.
