  1. Nothing like Anfield on a European night !

That went a lot better than I thought it would, fantastic pressing and energy in that first half.

Cant get this song out of my head ... 'We Conquered All of Europe! Allez Allez Allez!'

  2. Don't like this keeper rotation.

This transfer window is going to bite us big time... to let our most creative / best player leave this window, plus a senior striker with absolutely no incomings, just seems like a bloody big gamble to me.

So its the mighty Huddersfield tonight, this is now looking like the biggest game in our season, Jesus what a difference a few weeks can make.

Obviously Alladyce will set up to kill the game from the off, but if Liverpool get an early goal which will force them out i think Everton are in for a right old spanking.

please. please let us absolutely <deleted> panel them. like 6-0. like allardyce being taken to hospital for the first case of RSI from chewing gum panel. i am really looking forward to this and i rarely say that about a derby.

I would love nothing more than a ton of goals, but I do sense they won't make it easy. Hopefully we show up on the day, anything can happen in these games.

  4. A draw before the game would of seemed a good result away to Sevilla but wow that was something else from us in the second half  !

So much was right about our first half performance, the balance, the work rate, the tempo, the quality in attack but my god the individual defensive errors again but whats worse is just how easily we cracked under pressure...

yeah, as klopp said post-match it is nice to win ugly for a change. wasn't a lot by way of positives to take away from that though. four teenagers on the bench and woodburn coming on for coutinho kind of sums up where we're at.

Mad that bench, at least we have the likes of Lucas and Moreno to change games when need (haha). We need Hendo, Lovren, Sturridge back pronto. Trouble is Lovren always look shaky when he comes back in and needs games, and Sturridge I guess we can just count him done for the season, as he's just as likely to be injured sitting on the bench.

Could well be for most od the remaining season.

Vincent Janssen has to step up and become the striker we thought we had bought

Worst timing that injury to Kane for your league run in, but you look solid enough in nearly all positions and at times seem to bully teams.

  8. Painful to watch that 1st half and not much better in the 2nd but showed a bit more game control. Its a funny thing to see what can happen when players decided to match the physicality of Burnley, oh and actually get bodies in the box - timely goal that was !

Glad thats out the way... easy game away to City next !

  9. Very similar performance that to the Spurs game, just too much movement, pressure and quality on the ball for Arsenal.  In fact we have made the top 6 teams look average at best.

Adam Lallana has been a revelation under Klopp, I remember this lad not lasting more 70 mins in games !!! Bobby really finding form again with his mate Cout.

Mane is an absolute steal at 30+ million, this guy has an unbelievable turn of pace with close control and he can finish !

Emre Can has been under a bit of stick and rightly so of late, but he played the role well as Deep midfield and moved the ball well, gave that physicality and did the dirty work, dark arts -  really missed that of late in our midfield.

Gini, such a tidy gifted player, its boss how he's getting into the box with late runs and getting on the score sheet.

Yeah agreed with comments about Klavan vs Lucas used as CB, Klavan is not ideal but has played as a CB his entire career and was solid in the German league.

Jesus these lads can really play when they want... Unfortunately we play the might Burnley next ! No doubt we will make it hard on ourselves - so Its anyones guess which of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde will turn up in Red ???

we're too powder puff and teams know it. we are easy to rattle and don't have anyone who will throw a reducer in on an opponent. way we were playing i wanted to see 5 or 6 yellow cards for us that second half against leicester. we lack moxy.

A lot has been said about our back four also, I believe our current best 2 CB if available are Matip and Lovren and I recall they have not started more than 3-4 games together if that in 2017.

Its very clear now that when just one of first choice 11 is injured then the whole team seems to collapse, we are so reliant on our first 11 with a system so finally tuned to getting 110% out of each individual on the day. Certainly the lack of singings has been the biggest blow and mistake by all concerned.  However more worrying is recent public reports of players turning down moves to LVH and opting to go to BVB and other clubs...is that just wage issue or is it all the consistent lack of CL football.

Definitely looks like he has one hand tied behind his back in that he doesn't have the squad depth to rotate easily.  Probably would prefer more younger fitter players, and of course it all takes time.

However, contrary to a few posters on here and despite Klopp not really having the tools to do the job, despite a shock defeat to Wolves, he's got to a semi final and sits in the top four.  I don't think he's doing bad at all.  Injuries to key players when you are already carrying an under strength squad doesn't help either.  Reality is, this managers done well so far with what he's got, bar a few tactical mistakes. (Seem to remember him playing two holding bids at Anfield against a side that will be fighting relegation, which i found very strange)

Reds should trust the manager and turn their concerns towards their owners because they need to stump up some serious cash.  A Matip doesn't turn up every window!

Yeah thats the general feeling also amongst genuine and knowledgable reds that I know off, all seem to be firmly behind the manager and see the progress made in a short space of time.

Im personally still a bit on the fence with FSG, they have done some good things early on, the new stand shows real progress off the pitch and they seem to have sorted out the whole transfer committee thing. Of course never expected spending to compete with City, Chelsea or Manu but there needs to be a real commitment from them this summer but will it all depend on IF we get into a CL spot.

  12. It was good to see us come out fighting again after a bad run of games at home, kept at it right to the end.We still look very nervy at the back and again a bit slow on the attack. Chelsea are clearly a good side, well organised with quality players, they showed their coolness and experienced when under pressure - both sides had chances but very relieved our keeper saved the pen !

Impressed again with Gini, getting in the box again from deep and getting on the score sheet.

Henderson ran his socks off, looked knackered at the end, looks to be over his heel injury/niggle and played with a bit more freedom in his passing and movement, starting to look like a captain ! As the deeper midfielder he covered well for two very nervy centre backs and kept our rhythm going, just wish he was a bit stronger or naturally better in the tackle (darker arts) when needed.

Bobby, fluffed his lines again !!  had one clear easy chance at goal... but love his workmate, pressure and his quality on the ball is excellent in the build up, maybe starting to look tired and low on confidence in front of goal.

Anyway with Coutinho slowly find his match fitness and now Mane is back, I sense or hope...we may have a good run into the end of the season with only the league competition to focus on.

3 more results like this and it's all over for Klopp and no amount of cash can turn this round and with his "pedigree" he should have the nous but this feels like a continuation of his last season in Germany. If his high pressure style has flaws with a thin squad then I am sorry but it smacks of bad planning. Can't wait for the jan market to end? Smell the coffee and focus on your job not the bloody press and stop facking smiling.

    Your a clown !

sturridge looks finished by the way. he can't run.

Its all gone tits up !

Sturridge is a shadow of himself, He looks in part to be holding back when it involves anything more than a jog, maybe mentally he's done, doesn't seem to trust his body which is not a good sign at this level. Also he keeps pulling out of light tackles or challenges in the air.  Used to be great at playing on the shoulder of defenders, now he only shows when its into feet coming deep.  Right now he's the absolute opposite to Bobby !!

We desperately need 2-3 more bodies in this squad, ideally if one or two are experienced and not kids, the lack of squad rotation is now showing.

Don't like the combo of Hendo and Can together, it was working much better when it was Hendo and Gini (of course with Lallana back there also).

Surprised we have not seen young Ojo being given a go out wide again, we need some pace and directness while Mane is away.

silly boy firmino. very silly boy. obviously had such an expensive christmas that on his meagre wages he couldn't afford a taxi.

    Silly indeed !

Good win against Stoke, weathered a tough 20 mins against their long, direct football but as we have seen all season we look confident we can score for fun once we decide to go up a gear or two.

well that was more bloody like it wasn't it? outstanding away performance, lallana was superb, didn't miss matip and klavan played well, and thought mignolet rose to the challenge, fair play to him. and klopp has managed the goalkeeper issue very well i think, including putting the busy c*nt neville brothers back in their box.

the one-touch football for the second goal was a joy to watch, brilliant stuff.

    Yeah good second half that.

Goalkeeper situation, a few posts back I presumed he wouldn't drop Karius as thats a big call. Of course In true Klopp style, he just drops him and makes out its just another day... Migs did well also.

We look like we got back some fluency in out attack (movement, one touch passing) and Origi can't stop scoring.

    Bring on the Bitters !

  17. Bloody frustrating isn't it, I expected a better reaction at home after the Bournemouth mess. We played some fluid attacking football at times but we just seems to run out of attacking ideas and steam when teams sit back against us. We also can't control a game to save our lives when its needed especially when we go ahead.  We need to be more clinical and finish chances, right now we look to have two gears only, either full out attack or full out scrambling back... against any sort of a counter, we look naive at times, not sure that will get fixed this season !

Karius has made mistakes in two games in a row, but surely it would be madness to drop him right now? Not sure how it will help to bring in Migs as he also will make his 'inevitbale' blunder creating even grater pressure for the team.

Buying and developing these younger players was always going to result in issues, but watching how Klopp has got us playing at times, has brought reason for optimism, the best is yet too come, perhaps we have all gotten too carried away with how we were scoring for fun which has covered over the cracks. Perhaps we are seeing the growing pains of the development of a young squad made worse by a couple of key injuries and a thin squad.

We've also look unbalanced in our attack the last few games. Firminho needs to be central were he does his best work, not on the left, but its a conundrum with Coutinho out and also Sturridge missing in action.

Also we don't have that one natural defensive midfielder in the squad that might help in times like this (forgetting Lucas), Henderson has been tasked with the role and its not natural to him. I can't help but think these Dahoud rumours are true and we will be in again for him in the window or a similar player, a controlling defensive midfielder to balance between our attacking play.

Anyway games will be coming thick and fast, so will be interesting to see if we can get back to our form in time.
