  1. So you reckon bob he's dropping slightly down the pecking order? Cos Id say b4 he was a dead cert starter irrelevant of formation.

Sent from my GT-I9000 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

No, it was based on the fact the 3 up top had played in this formation successfully before and that's why he went with them, or so Klopp says.

Hindsight it's always easy, but am baffled as to why he didn't play Sturridge or even Benteke earlier. As soon as Benteke came on he made a difference.

Villarreal look a well drilled, organised team, but I honestly think if we had opened up a bit more we could have won or at least got an away goal.

Yep think he really wanted the draw... and nearly got it.

Moreno still up the pitch on the 92nd minute does help ! leaving a one on one with a tiring Toure, not sure were Lovren also ?

I think we will do it at home like you said. Never make it easy on ourselves do we ???

  2. Cant believe we conceded right at the end !!! So frustrating as I thought we had given a solid away performance against a patient, clever disciplined team.

I was expecting the use of Sturridge for the last 30 mins given he didn't start, but maybe that will pay of in the return leg when we go full throttle at Anfield !

  3. Great, just as things were looking good at the back

    Indeed, there worst timing.

Looking at the spine of the team now with (Can, Henderson, Origi and now Sakho) out, its not looking so great.

  4. I still can't believe it... its up there with some of the best games I can remember.

Some of the guys stepped up when they needed to be counted, when Joe Allen came on he was like a man possessed !

Don't know what else to say about the game - speechless.

  5. Should be a good game this.

Confirmed LFC team: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Sturridge.

subs: Ward, Toure, Allen, Origi, Ibe, Skrtel, Smith.
  6. Gutted not to win, ah well... rode are luck at time and also had enough chances to win it in normal time.

Shocking standard of penalties. Anway the lads gave their all out there, which was something. Reality is as proved to many times some if not most are just not good enough.

Klopp's got one hell of a rebuilding job on his hands over the summer.

there's no way on earth he keeps mignolet now. he's done, he's just a total liability. same goes for moreno, one of the most braindead footballers i have ever seen. we need a bit more savvy out there and a lot more attitude. i think we'll sign maybe half a dozen and hopefully key players in key positions but we really need to get rid of a whole pile of dead wood.

Yeah I would agree with all of that, just don't know if financially the owners will be up for another 'rebuild' and if we can ship out players... its all a bit of a mess the past few seasons with transfers. If we could fix the spine of the team in each with Klopps players (GK, CB, CM, ST) then that would be a start.

  8. What did I just watch again sad.png

Sunderland 2 shots on target, 2 goals, its absolutely embarrassing to watch this side just fold in that manner, whats worse is you kind of know its coming.

We keep making the same 'individual' mistakes over and over again and then as a collective we have absolutely no backbone or any leadership in sight, not even close.

I don't think any amount of coaching is going to improve what we have in terms of goalkeeper and defenders.

Firmino, showed his quality again today (albeit in fleeting moments) probably the only bright spark in the whole of this shit show that the team has been putting on for the past few years !

  9. ^ I don't think he'll do much in January, unless ravaged with injuries. Like you mentioned, he seems to have a knack for getting the best out of individuals, I get the feeling from this statement, "we did ok, but we can get much, much better" he wants to see what he can get out of what we have, including youth.

Haven't enjoyed a game like that since 2013/14.

Yeah great opportunity for some of the younger guys to make a claim under Klopp then.

Bit worried about Milners recent form, he's looked really odd, kind of looks weak in the challenge and starting to look leggy already, maybe too many games in sucession given the ground he covers ? Or is it the weight of being made captain - not sure what it is but he's surely better than this ?

I have to say starting see signs this Firmino could be some player !!

  10. i hope this works and you can see this.

because i want this man in as manager right now.

Apparently should be a done deal by Friday. What exciting times for Liverpool. I thought he was destined for us, as much as Pelle is a likeable chap, there's just something missing from his management style that I think Klopp possesses.

oh i'm delighted mate, he's absolutely the best manager we could have got and he's exactly the type and style of manager we need.

hats off to the owners in this instance, they've (finally) played a blinder here.

This is going to a one mad ride ! !

I didn't think FSG had the ambition to be honest, really hope this pans out.

I have no doubts Klopp will deliver if given support and time.

  11. Felt like a proper Derby at times that..some passion shown by the likes of Can, Sakho, Ings more than most, but we ultimately lacked quality and composure at both ends.

Mad season looking at the table right now !

  12. phew... manager, players and fans needed that win !

We made it hard for ourselves at times, still looked nervy and playing with slow tempo in that first half.

Sturridge just shows what a difference a top quality striker can make.

  13. The starting eleven looked decent enough on paper and the formation did allow us to play more aggressively by helping the wing backs such as Moreno and Clyne and starting with two forwards at the top of the field was a welcome change also.

We just lack that killer instinct and even though Lovren was dropped - we still have to live in fear that Mignolet is either going to kick it the opposition or as he did, punch it to them instead... that really was the most feeble attempt at a punch away. He's started to flap again isn't he.

Coutinho and Strurridge both had a clear chance to score - absolutely no composure, which really is an indication were the teams mentality is at right now.

Look it was much improved in terms of our possession but its still no near good enough, too slow and timid - I mean Norwich at home !!

Eight points out of a possible eighteen - sackable surely ?

  14. This is Rodgers fourth season now, yes his fourth season !

There is no point analysing the game or player performances because its the same shit we saw from last season.

Maybe the likes of Coutinho, Henderson or Sturridge or even Lallana coming back into the side may give us a better balance and threat going forward but at the moment the only major change I can see having any positive impact right now is a change in manager.

  15. not even the same neighbourhood mate. he's raw as anything, so raw that he's barely even potential really. even his 6m euro move as a 17 year old was considered iffy. this is a bizarre transfer story. £36m gets you so many of the top strikers in europe. it isn't what a totally unproved kid from ligue un costs. surreal.

    I'm loving this....its a total panic buy.

Wow if that's right stevie then you have made my weekend football misery just that little bit brighterclap2.gif

it's in the bebe neighbourhood this mate. if the figures are true. he's so, so unproven. if these numbers are right it's like paying £36m for sheyi ojo or something, given that the lad is from the french league. he's nowhere near origi's level of proven for example. and we probably overpaid for him tbh. so back we go to bent, dodgy as <deleted> etc.

If the reports are true that he is no where near Origi's level, then the mind boggles at the transfer fee and the whole transfer window has become a farce.

Also the pressure now on this kid will be unreal ! Given Utd can't rely on just Rooney in that position, then surely he has to be starting games.?

Has any of the Utd guys seen this kid in action by the way?
