  1. Yes, about 4 year ago I wrote my last update about my Platinum Monaco J 150 Motorcycle. Now 4 year later it's time for an update.

He is still driving well and looks ok. You can see that some chrome parts I spayed black because the chome start oxidate. But over all I may not complain. On vital points like frame and frontbracket all looks great. Today made a smal trip and all function well. The odometer stands now on nearly 75.000 Km.

I hope to hear from more people their experiences with this black sheep motorcycle.

Some  photos made this morning, enjoy them.

    Regards

Sorry no photo's because i got an error message ............ There was a problem uploading the file.

  2. Gas in a car is great. My car have a Toyota J 3 liter engine, auto gear and 2 or 4 wheel drive. I don't have petrol. Start up on gas. Old fashion system. Just inject the gas in the suction air before the carburetor.

    Plus points....

If drive normal use about 1 liter gas every 8 kilometer. If driving fast, about 180 km, then this drop to 1 liter 5 kilometer. Total gas an board is 80 liter by 80-% filling.

In the past flooding use cooking gas without any problem. The gas stations where closed.

Also use cooking gas in rural area's if there are no LPG stations.

Big smile by the pump. At this moment pay 12.68 a liter.

Engine run more then 180.000 km on it and no gas related problems in the past 5 year.

    Min points.....

Engine get hotter. Compensated this with a bigger radiator and a separate radiator for the gearbox. Also for the oil i have a extra reservoir from 4 liter with a oil cooler.

Need extra protection between the hood and the engine else your paint will do strange.

If engine cold take a little longer to start. After first start the engine start quick.

If you let it install do it by a garage who have experience in t.

  3. From what I know is Victory motorbike produced in USA by Polaris. They build all kind of smaller vehicles and boats. The Victory cash in on the success from HD in the heavy motor segment. They started building them in 2000 added the Indian logo/style in 2011 to there sales formula.

The sales go well and they use, like so many other USA companies, the happy free strong individual sentiments to sell their products.

  4. Is there one reason why you call yourself a big bike driver on a 250 cc motorbike. It's all a point of view. For me on my 150 cc a 250 cc have just more cc. For parking is it in my view more important how tall and width the motorbike is, what the turning circle is and the knowledge of the motor driver how he can handle his motorbike.

I am almost sure that my 150 cc motorbike is taller, wider and higher then the most standard 250 cc motorbikes. Saying this in past when parked my motorbike in a shopping mall it just toke some more time to park it.

  5. Hello and let me try to help you a little further.

    Leaking petrol… mainly 3 reasons.

    1. Main valve from the petrol, between the tank and the carburetors is hanging.
    2. Vlotter in the carburetor is hanging.
    3. Tube between the carburetors is lose or broken.

The rubber tube with a bold sound not very professional, probably used bold as plug. As first aid ok but not recommend as repair. The rubber tube must have a function. If in the top of the engine mostly air over pressure release from the engine

Bike started well but shortly stops after that. Mainly 4 reasons.

    1. Main valve from the petrol, between the tank and the carburetors is blocking.
    2. No spark… plugs/cables broken. HS Coil no good grounding/Rust.
    3. Wiring problem. Check wiring. STOP button, stand switches
    4. ECU problem. Check wiring from and to sensors. Exchange or repair ECU

    Clutch.

If tensioners all out do me think an almost broken cable Also can it be that the clutch mechanic inside the engine is broken/wrongly rebuild. Shudders can come from wrongly rebuild clutch packs, worn out clutch plates or when the plates are not flat.

    Hissing sound.

This can be many but here are some possibilities.

    1. To much oil in engine.
    2. Leaking head of cylinder. Coolant mix with oil ? ( Strange color/smell coolant. White smoke exhaust )
    3. One or more valves stay open or timing is very wrong. Compression escape through head air escape.
    4. Sparkplug not tighten/broken

Well hope that this general tips help you on your way.

  6. This is what i mean.....

I know a guy who bought a Chinese motorbike, similar model and price, some years ago.

Well, my real experience was that i have to push my mate's motorbike umpteen times when he used to come to see

My good friend bought a chinese made ATV. He regretted it from day one. Parts rusted, broke quickly, had problems

This is almost normal if you speak over a Chinese build motorbike. Almost never the owner of a Chinese motorbike who post those stories. And if an owner of a Chinese build motorbike post here in this forum some experience about his/her motorbike the bashers start a witch hunt what take away the fun of writing about your motorbike.

Btw i wish the OP many happy and safe km's with his choice

    Regardswai2.gif

If I remember correctly you weren't frank with your posts. It was only after you were pressed for more information you admitted your Chinese bike racked up most of it's mileage in the first year or so but for the last couple of years has not been used much. Rather an important point I think.

Can t remember I where pressed in anyway. In the topic i said the age and the km of my bike. Like every year till now i show those. Just read back. After placing the last item someone ask for the km make with the bike, and although this was in the test I send i again for the ones who did miss it and didn t read previous posts.

Again I love to discus the quality of Chinese build motorbikes. But most here just start bashing like i did show clearly with those 3 "my friend" messages.

  7. Labour charges in Canada start at 3600 baht per hour - converted.

    Parts more expensive too.

    I think you did OK

In Burundi the the average motorbike mechanic will charge you, converted to thai baht 100 a day and you will not find any replaced parts on your bill. There are no replacements.

But I think the transport from and back to Thailand will that it's more cost effective to repair in a Thai motorbike shop.

  9. i think CP works according the deoclassliberal guidelines. And where you think to see any trace from ethnocentric behavior is in my view more salintant behavior.

Can you please explain the words in red as Google seems pretty much none the wiser................ ?

I can understand that Google, as USA company, can 't place those words. This are width used terms in Marx - Leninist classical economy models often used by pre-felodilant economic planners from the USSR in the 1920-1950 era. Later, under influence from economists like Dolistiwitz and Wolgavadil the deoclassliberal got adapted formed the base for the DDR fielmachwalle model as used by Trabant and other DDR companies as export model and as cussion model for foreign valutas.

I hope this put you in the right direction and maybe you can find here in Thailand a library who keep such a masterpieces of economy modelling.

  10. It would be help <deleted>ll to know brand of car, model, type of paint and why you need them?

Why? What influence would that have on the answer to the question posted?

Yes ... small scratch you can repair on almost every corner of the street.

major damage, chassis strengthen tou need special tools. Some shops experience with only 1 or 2 brands

what type of paint you want..

all thing that make you choose for a shop.

so .... to answer your question MMarlow..... yes.

"... small scratch you can repair on almost every corner of the street". Nonsense.

"Some shops experience with only 1 or 2 brands." Nonsense again.

"what type of paint you want.." How many ordinary people actually know this?

I don't want to start a lengthy discussion with an expert as you MMarlow and wish you much luck and wisdom

  11. I read here a lot of.... i find... but no real arguments.

    Ok again your bill

collection fee in pickup -1000 < I think this is a reasonable amount for a pick of a heavy motorbike and i have the impression you agree with that

new battery -2600 < till now no news about the battery but quality brand batteries for big bikes can cost that easily.Brand and type are needed for a objective verdict.

replaced coolant -640 < also here no brand and type. so it can be reasonable if used a top brand

    cleaned fuel tank -640 <

    cleaned injection system - 1000 <

labour cost - 1000 << that you didn t bring your bike to the man on the corner implement the have higher workshop rates then somchai on the corner. A well equipped workshop charge easily 500 bath a hour

    bill total ; 6,880 thb

So I find your bill not so strange except that i miss the 7% VAT charge

  13. So for a 400m run you need 800m of cable, make sure you can identify which is which at both ends so you don't reverse polarity at your distribution board.

By my knowledge it make no difference. Here in Thailand we use 220 V AC 50Hz with 2 leads. AC stands for alternating current witch means the electric charge change in the rate of the frequency.

If you work with 380 V AC 50Hz, and you use 3 leads then is numbering handy else the star/triangle set up for heavy engines will not follow the required sequence by start up.

  14. 15000 is a good cheap price for standard Jap car.

50000 is too much even for 4x4.

    80000 is ridiculous.

Correct... average you need for about 5000 bath an paint, sandpaper, filler, tape and other small supplies.

so 10000 for labor/ workshop costs.

All that you pay more, if you have no special paint job, is a scam.

...hey,if all this is 'correct'...would you(!) do it for this price..??! giggle.giflaugh.pngwhistling.gif

No... but did mine car, 3 colors, black, silver and metal blue.

1 day to take all of that can give problems like lights, bumper, cow catcher, name plates etc..

1 day clean wax, sanding and filling small dents. sandpaper 600, 800 and 1000

1 day tape and mask all and spray 2 colors ... black and silver

    1 day spray metallic blue

    1 day sanding 1500

1 day spraying all 3 colors

1 day sand all with 1800 and then polish all with polisher and machine

    1 day build all back

I say day but actually most time worked just a few hours... the rest is dry and harden time

Total work time about 25 hours

    Total costs 4890 bath

    Regards
