Wax your windows in and outside with silicone wax and they run as new.

After reading all kind strange reasons why one bike can and a other not use the high way i think it's time for a new criteria.
The bike must be black, build in China, have 149.5 cc, must have 2 working exhaust, have a straight up sit position and have a full wind shield.
I think i will qualify perfect for that rule so it will be a good law.

First of all glad that the accident end with only damage to the bike.
As I did see other people suggest you I think it would be better that you spend some money an driving lessons. You need the hole road, 2 lanes and switch without check and give signal. As I can see on the video you just lost control over your bike, Maybe because you came close by the side bar.
May this be a good lesson and hope in future that you drive your brain switched on.

Maybe something like a Suzuki APV or a Toyota Avanza. ?

None of this all. They will build a nice monument, put a nice copper plate on it and the text will be something like " for the
Fukushima heroes" . Every year will will be quiet for 1 minute and think an them. The relatives get a nice piece of paper and a medal that they can hang on the wall to show to others where the lost died. This is the standard practice that is followed after every disaster. And as always the dead don't complain.

If I where you I would take out my wheels and send the rims in for radio analysis. The bents you see you can judge but you can t see what happened to the rest of the rim. A small crack, hidden inside and not visible by the paint, can make break your rim easily by sideways movements as like in a short corner.

I am not sure but saw those Stallions in a "factory" showroom near Rhamkamphean University.

Sorry it take some while. The Platinum drove 54.215 Km the past years. So with this I can say I am a biker. As told in the first 3 year every day on the road and bring me all over the greater Bangkok area.
I agree that the Chinese have a different approach of a bike then the Japanese. Especially the welding work from the frame parts is rough. But rough will not mean bad. When bought my motorbike I let X-Ray the most important weddings from the frame and not one had crack, air rooms or contamination and all where well flown in the tube metal. In all those years never did have a crack in the frame.
That many Platnums break down have more to do with the maintenance of the bike and the riding style of the divers. It's a heavy motorbike compared to the amount of engine cc's. In my case the motorbike weight about 180 kilo and I am good for a 130 kilo. 330 Kilo total on a 150 cc engine. You can't expect racing characteristics, The engine itself is a knock off from a Honda and heavily reduced in rpm's and torck.
With adapting the electronic the rpm increase from 7.000 to 9.200. Together with a Vortex build in the carburetor I can get around the 20 PK This combined with a adapted gearwheel setup make that I can maintain a cruise speed from about 115 Km/h. Remember it's not a racing motor so it need time to come there This is quiet OK if you see the big windshield I build on it but down-scaled my CW heavy.
Back to Maintenance, never ever did a Thai mechanic touch my motorbike. All service and modifications are done by me for the simple reason I don't trust work done by unschooled mechanics.
If you have more serious questions I will do my best to answer them
Regards .

Nice one. Looks like you're getting your value out of it. I wonder how many posters would have predicted that it would have rusted into oblivion by now. 6 yrs later and still running strong.
What's the big dial on the gas tank?
The big dail house a digital petrol meter, gear indicator and the petrol fill opening.

Diff'ren strokes for diff'ren folks. I am guessing your the kind of guy that wants to extract every metre you can out of a litre of benzene.
I am guessing you are bored and have nothing better to do then post in a topic about a bike that does not interest you at all.
I thought you would go with "Hey buddy, you trying to get your post count up or something?"
But the thing is some months back dutchdam was posting in another thread about his bike and how great it is but never answered the question about how much riding he does....now we know!
This few months is about 11 months ago. When I bought the bike and announce it here at TV the stream of comments was big. Most negative and without any knowledge written. That make me decide to bring a yearly update. Safe me reading all comments who have no value.
Now yearly, when pay tax/insurance I make some photos and will please you with a update.
How much riding I do is, if you can read, clearly mentioned in the OP... about 1000 Km

1000km in one year, that not even 100 km per month?
So what is your 1st mode of transport?
You threat it like some Harley riders I know in Pattaya, only taking it out for a spin twice a week and only when the sun shines
1 st mode is a car
2 th small motorbike for in the village and 7/11 runs
3 th bicycle for around the corner and go with the dog
4 th legs... to come by the one of the modes
Yes, I am now a nice weather driver. Rain, to hot, to dusty.... or just lazy then take the car.
I use the Platinum only for hobby now. When I bought him he was the only mean of transport and drove all over Bangkok with her. Since the car came and got work near house she is with retirement.....

Hello, here some photos of my Platinum J 150. This year was a lazy year for her, just a little more then 1000 Km. But this week spend a day an cleaning and checking her. No serious problems. One fitting of the left back light has a light oxidation. Take it out, cleaned it and give it a anti oxidation treatment.
This year didn't make any moderation's, so nothing to explain here.
Just enjoy the photo's

replace the headlight bulb (about 7 times)...
This is most time a problem from a to high voltage from the generator. Measure the voltage, esp the peaks. If higher then 13 V DC then place a restrictor between the lamp bulb. He will cut off the high peaks and ensure the life time of the bulb

For we all start jump maybe it's a good idea to change the tittle from this topic.
The Lady who passed away, Margaret Thatcher and not Maggie Thatcher.
I don't believe in life after this, no rust in piece from me, but she was a remarkeble woman who left a foot print in the English political landscape. Thank you for that.

Yes, that is a problem. You can order your sparkplug remover, who also can mount it back, in Germany by Belzer.
The DeLuxe model will cost you about Euro 210.00 and Euro 60,00 Post and handling.
The Standard model is a the standard tool for cheap Charlies and cost about Euro 180,00 and off course the Euro 60.00 Post and handling.
I am not sure what the Import Tax on this products are but I would count on 200% to be an the sure side.
With regards
PS. You can also walk in a Tesco or Big C and take one of the shell for about 80 bath.

OK speedo stopped working today,
Most time the speedo stops is because one of the ends did come lose.
Check the side near the front wheel centre. If lose tighten it. Be careful that the square end fits properly in the part by your wheel centre.
Check the side under the speedo meter.
Both sides put some grease on the wiring and screw the first windings with hand so you can feel resistance.
Tighten both and secure it with less force from a pliers.
About the oil change. Never trust somebody to do this for you. Buy good 4 stroke oil in a shop and change it your self.
Let your engine run for a few minutes. Open the oil inlet. Place a plastic scale under the outlet and unscrew it. The warm oil runs out quickly. When the main part is out the engine. Rotate the engine with the kick starter or start engine, be sure the stop knob is on STOP and activate the clutch and gear pedal regularly.
Check the oil that comes out the engine. Color and viscose of it tells a lot about the state of the engine, also a good habit is it to check with a magnet if there are iron parts in’t. Clean the oil outlet and screw. Screw in the oil screw and tighten it with a spanner. After 5 oil change replace the copper stop washer. Fill the engine with the new oil.
If no problems put the old oil in the can and bring this to a bigger garage for disposal. Oil don’t belong in a canal or sewer.

I read somewhere that you could drive a normal family car for more than 250,000 miles and still do less damage to the environment than it does just building a Toyota Prius, let alone running one..
For more information, in the English language, look at this website from the BBC and the links to the Norwegian Univercity.
Also on the websites from Daimler Benz, BMW, BASF and Siemens are legio articles about more envirronmnal friendly producing.

Correct... average you need for about 5000 bath an paint, sandpaper, filler, tape and other small supplies.
so 10000 for labor/ workshop costs.
All that you pay more, if you have no special paint job, is a scam.
