  1. Last night all night pulling up sandbags, installed 3 motor pumps and blocked the sewers so no water can come in from the canal. This morning the water is rising. Some parts of the road get flooded about 10 cm. Village still dry ad at this time about 30 com above the waterline. On the outside of the village a small dam did break and water is floating in the land behind the village in a high tempo.

This morning the house locked with silicon kit, foam and sandbags. Bring most goods up to the 1th floor.

Attached some photos from in and around the village at present time.

Village located between Bangbuathong and Bang Yai about 5 kilometers from the main road in the direction of Sai Noi.

    Regards

  3. Monday drove to the Nonthaburi Immigration office for a 90 days report.

2 minutes after i arrived i did left the office with all papers ready.

See many people talk/complain but most because they have not the required papers ready.

    For 90 days registration you need;

1 Filled in form TM 47

    1 Valid passport

    1 Form TM 7

1 Old slip from the former form TM47

If you have this and all filled in correct and readable the hole process take 2 minutes and is done with a smile.

  4. Hi Kenny, I don t know what the shop did do. Have you photos from before and after and also a indication of the price of the used parts and labour costs

I can see they lower your back bumpers with replacements or with attachments. I see skirts mounted. What for type used and the sticker from back over the corner to the right side. What material is used and is it in sealed or stick on style.

Look OK to me but material used will make the difference between a good looking car out of the showroom and after say 6 months in the Thai sun.

    Regards

  5. Hello, thanks for the extra photos and specs. It look all great and wish you many happy Km's in't.

About the name van or bus i think they call this by us a "bouwvakkersbusje". But for me i don't care how you call it. It look good and if it drive good then it 's a good combination.

    Regards :jap:

  6. Now i understand.... after not getting any attention anymore from the people on the sidewalk when you drive by on your HD you now start putting pictures from total neglect Chinese build motorbikes.

I can place here links and photo's from HD from 6 months old where the chrome jumps off or the paint bubbles up. Total repair costs US$ 10.000, not under waranty. But what do you expect from a cheap, US$ 36.000 road ready, American product. :shock1:

Regards and have all a great and safe 2011 :burp:

  7. First of all congratulations with your new motorbike. I must give you a word warning for the HD and Honda adapten here on this website. When I bought my new motorbike, a Platinum 150, 3 year ago I did receive a pile of comments here on this website.

Mostly bad news and all kind of predictions that would happen with me if I drive on it.Now 3 year later and 50.000 km on the meter he still runs strong and in all that time he never leave me down.

I wish you a Happy New Year 2011 and many good rides and much happiness with your new Lifan motorbike.

    Regards :jap:

  8. Hello,

For me now it's not anymore a subject.

In the past, 5 year ago, yes i where giving computer lessons and a part of this, higher grades, could do this as a extra subject.

I started with the small, easy to build driving robot who you can buy as DIY packet in many shops.

We modified this one till it could recognize voice commands and also make a electronic map of the area where he drive in.

From my former company i did get a old, modified, but functional ASEA DR 120 industry robot and and we did manage to let him do some basic tasks like sensoring, moving, lifting, sorting, painting and the most fun part copying human handwriting.

All great fun but.......................lots of preparation hours, walking all electronics markets in Bangkok for parts, and a lot of begging for help from companies to make the required adapters and tools.

A other point where that many students lose focus during the course. Many see only the fun part and forget the many hours of hard labor it take.

A word of warning, industry robots are no toys. Wrong programmed or badly secured they can harm or even kill humans easily. Always stay in the classroom, If you leave switch of the power and be sure you lock power cabinet with a good padlock

    Regards

  9. Have you seen any JRDs lately? Platinums? I haven't. The shops are gone (at least here in Chiang Mai). The scooters/bikes are rare. In the case of Platinum undoubtedly because they've all fallen apart. I have never seen a Lifan shop.

Everyday is see a Platinum DJ 150/8 ......... mine Platinum i see every day and must say that after almost 50.000 km i still drive on the factory tires, the engine never did stop, the paint still is on the place and the chrome still shine without a trail of fallen off parts or costly repairs.

    With regards

  10. Hello

I am one of those people who like to read news from the motor world. This world is bigger then the HD's and the Ducati's. Some people still live in the 5o ties and don't want to see that there is happening a lot around them. I did stop commenting or sending in material because of this "old" people. Always comments on every thing but seldom a real contribution to this forum.

If you like it or not China is the workshop from the world now days with many interesting developments. That the quality is not that what we are used to get from the Japanese factories is just a question from time.

From me Richard BKK please don t stop with bringing news and let the oldies grumble and mumble. That is all they can.

  11. The wife and baby need to visit a local district office to take care of some name change business.

We are closest to Amphur Bang Bua Thong and the sub division of Bang Yai.

How do I find the address and phone number of offices in Bang Bua Thong?

...or any office for future reference.

In Bang Yai is the NCS ( Nonthaburi Counter Service ) here they do all in one office. NCS is in center of Bang Yai and well signed from the main road with arrows and big banners over the street.

    Regards

    :)

  12. I always get a little sad if I see how deep people dig in dirt for they find something to throw with it.

This is a paper article from 25 February 2006 and as blind cows the whole TV start to write comments about it. In the past year I did publish here enough about Platinum Motorcycles. And almost every time I there is the same reactions.

For me, I have a Monaco 150-8, it’s a good and reliable motorbike. Yes with things that can better, so I adapt it. Spare parts are not a problem. This bike is build of from parts that you can buy on almost every motorbike market. Sometimes need a little adaption.

If you have 2 left hands and only can pull your wallet to pay “your” Thai mechanic then please buy a Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or another to high priced motorcycle.

    Happy motoring…..with Platinum :o

  14. In my opinion all those little motorbikes are too small for a decent ride.

In the corner you need pull out your leg to make space for the steer. You will sit somewhere in the middle of the saddle and you back will be bend in front all the time.

With other words….. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki are not build for tall people.

For some members here starts think again I am the salesman of Platinum motorbikes I advise you to read the stories I did post here on this forum.

After you did read that and have more questions you can PM me

    With regards :o

Do you happen to have any photos of the Platinum bike? I hope to be buying a bigger bike when I get back to Thailand to stay permanently in March.

    Hi

Please search this forum. In the begin i did post here big photos from before and after the adaptions i did make.

    With regards :D

  15. That OCR is a rare bird indeed! Was it a Mazda rotary engine they used? There would only be a handful in the entire universe!

No it where a adapted Proton rotary engine. Proton in that time was a sub division of Citroen but the driving force behind this engine came from the NSU Werke GmbH. The NSU did build a car, the RO 80, with a 2 disk rotation engine from 800 cc.

Direct from that engine we build the ORC. Total there were 37 bikes build. Even in this small series there are many sub models with all kind of engine adoptions like smart electronic ignition, a Bosch fuel injection system and Solex compressor.

The last 3 were full race bikes for on the street. 162 PK, 28.000 rpm and from 0 till 160 in 6 seconds, 8 gears and with a top far behind the 380 km/h. Big problem was the engine with a average life cycle of 50 hour for it needs a overhaul of the rotation system.

In that time we experiment with ceramic and (hard)chrome that mixes to find the best solutions.

Pity the money runs out and we must close that project but always look back with big pleasure to that time and with a nice motorbike in my Dutch garage
