  1. What if you get an inheritance left to you in your name and your wife gets a seperate amount left to her?

Lets assume wife spends all hers and you still have yours in the bank.

What happens to this ? split of not split ?

You can contribute for me if you like.50,000 will do nicely.

Can you change your profile name Chappie because your name doesn't fit. You sound like a bitter <deleted>.

If you are the average quality of expat that live in Udon thani then I will cross that off my list of possible places to live in Thailand.

  3. Hua Hin, nice clean place with lots of nice people. Far different from Pattaya.

If you are facebook then you can join some of the Hua Hin groups and learn more. There are lots of Hua Hin property groups on FB and you can find rentals from 10,000 a month upwards. Ive seen some nice 2 and 3 bedroom bungalows for 12k to 15k a month.

I also know of an English lady there that runs a fantastic international school, she also runs a charity called Jungle aid if you fancy doing some voluntry work. Herself and all the people working with her in her school and charity are lovely people.

On the opening photo the lady on the left with blonde hair is the lady that started and runs a great school

( I am a similar age to you at 47yr and I intend to go and live in Hua Hin soon )

  4. Even if you did tell the embassy on application about the 2 year overstay they would no believe it and would still refuse a visa.

The story about her staying witha friend (not husband) that paid for everything sounds rubbish, doesn't even matter if it was true.

Most of us and on here and embassy staff think she either worked for cash in hand at a restaurant or worked in a massage parlour as many do. Several of my wifes friends have left husbands and gone to work in massage parlours so it is not unusual, they just want money.

There is zero chance of your wife getting a UK visa.

And if there was an increase of 0.5 baht after you clicked you might receive 5,000, more which makes it a better deal, a gamble either way.

correct. BUT an increase of 0.5 baht would and a gain of 5000 baht would only make you better of by 1484 baht (5000 - 3516)... A drop of 0.5 baht would make you worse off by 8516 baht. It's an easy decision, I will open a TW account.

  6. I wonder if she (wife) pushed him physically or just emotionally.

Either way she is to blame.

Having been married to a thai I know just how the guy was feeling.

At times they can drive you crazy with their ways. Sometimes it seems like they are unwilling to listen to anything. Everything has to be their way no matter how stupid that way is.

Hope the guy can RIP now.

  7. Thank you very much Sheryl for all the information. It is very helpful.

At the moment it looks like we are going to wait till after the biopsy on the 27th April before we do anything.

I did mention a flight to my wife but never really got a reply so I will leave it at that.

I always try to do the right thing but my wife will as always do what she is going to do when she wants to do it.  I don't think she has ever understood the word priorities.

No doubt though I will be the one expected to pick up the pieces. She has Schizoaffective disorder and this could cause another relapse.

I am on this topic that someone started about bipolar if you want to read my little story. Thanks again Sheryl.

Yes he is a smoker and 58 years old.

I asked my wife what prompted him to go to the doctor / hospital. She said he had been coughing and feeling ill. Probably for a while because I know he would be pretty tough. I doubt he went after just a few days of coughing.

It seems like there is going to be a bit of waiting around now. 26 days till biopsy then a week or so for results. Then scans and wait again.

From the small amount of information I have now what is the best and worst that I can expect ? Me and wife are living in UK and I would hate for something to happen now and him die quickly without seeing her again. Are things likely to go downhill fast ? I am worried that the biopsy aggravates a tumor and makes it grow faster, is that right ?

  9. Thankyou Sheryl

My wife told me on Wednesday that he had already been told that he had Lung cancer.

He had an X-ray on Monday and I am not sure about blood tests.

Could they know from a blood test ?

Can they know for sure from X-ray or have they told him too soon. No biopsy till 27th April.

Another question Sheryl. Do thai people have to pay for this treatment ?

  10. My thai wifes father had an X-ray last Monday 26th March and got the result on Wednesday. It is believed he has Lung cancer. He now has an appointment for the 27th April to get a Biopsy at a Udon Thani hospital. Me and my wife are living in the UK at the moment so for me to get an answers I have to ask my wife who doesn't always ask the question like I said it. If it was my father I would have rang the hospital where he is going and asked myself, but as this is thai language I can't.

So I am asking here to see if any of you guys know.

I believe this lung biospy will be done by inserting a needle into the chest to obtain a sample of tissue from the lung under local anesthetic.

    Questions:

How long will he have to wait for a result ? same day ? a few days ? or weeks ?

If he does have Lung cancer will this test be able to tell whether it is stage 1,2,3 or 4 ?

A rather quaint way to look at it. If you made USD1500 at old rates; that would be what, B54,000 at 36 to 1?  No matter the current USD to THB rate, you are still making B54,000, are you not?

I think he might get paid in baht and he is talking about the conversion the other way round.

Okay thanks guys, seems like going to the airport is the best way, not going to take the chance with any thai officials thats for sure lol.

    Thanks for your input!

Definetly the best option is to buy a ticket and turn up at the aiport with a bit of spare time. In 2016 I had a 90 day overstay, turned up at airport, paid my 20,000 baht and had no problems. The staff were very polite, it only took a few minutes.

This visa is available with single entry only, it is no longer possible to be granted a multiple entry visa. If wishing to stay longer it will be necessary to visit a Thai Immigration Office near to where you will be staying and enquire about the procedure for extending your stay. The single entry visa is valid for three months from date of issue and allows a single stay in Thailand of up to 90 days.

So that we can obtain authorisation from the London Embassy to issue this visa it is necessary for the applicant to submit to us all documents relative to this visa therefore we request you to email scanned copies of the following to [email protected]

    4. Copy of spouse’s Thai passport page containing photo and details.
    5. Copies of latest three months bank statements which must show applicant’s name and address.

As soon as we receive authority from the London Embassy we will invite you to visit us so that we can issue the visa and you will need to bring with you the following:-

  14. I don't live in Bangkok righ now but I can not imagine getting board. I love to play pool and there are many single and doubles competions in the main pool bars, Sportsman Soi 13, Sports academy and Hustlers near time square. You could play a competition most nights if you wanted to.

Pub quiz night at Sportsman on a Tuesday and I am sure there are other pub quiz nights to find. Day time activities would include gym, swimming, walking, exploring the city. I like Hua Hin so if I wanted to see a beach I could take a taxi to there for 1800 baht for 2 or 3 nights. The thing to avoid is becoming an alcoholic just spending everyday from 3pm till past midnight in areas such as Soi 4 and Nana.
