  1. What documents do I need to fly out of Bangkok with my 12 year old Thai-Australian daughter. She has both Thai and Australian passports. She travelled to Australia once before exiting Thailand on her Thai passport. Her Australian passport was issued in Bangkok but that is not recorded on the page with her picture ...it just says issued Australia. There are no stamps of any kind in her Australian passport. Her last name is the same as mine in both passports and her ID Card. I've read somewhere ages ago that a document from her mother issued at the Amphur is needed. I also heard that a letter from her Mum stamped at the police station works. And finally I've heard that because we share the same surname there should be no problem. I don't like to take risks.... especially because missing flights is very expensive. Good advice (like... been there, done that advice) will be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot... Marko
  2. Please explain... I'm not sure I understand.... I guess that's an 'in' joke...
  3. Hi there, I seem to remember motorcycle dealers have sales at Songkran (from pre-covid times). Is that a correct memory? I need to buy a new Honda Wave or Click for the wife...not sure which is best...she just needs reliable transport. I think the price of a Click 125cc should be about B60k. Not sure about the Wave. I'll be back from overseas... that's why I'm asking... Thanks....
  4. Thanks a lot.... a good range of opinions.... and food for thought. A few points prompted by some replies.... * I am in daily contact with "wife and daughter via Line. I spend 5 mins to an hour on the video calls with my daughter every day. * I don't draw an Ozzie pension yet... I work in a Call Centre for my sins and earn a fair wage. * I don't worry about dieing. Every night I lose total consciousness... about the same thing I think.... except no waking up if you die. * Government regulations changing all the time worry me as much as anything else... lack of certainty. Thanks for your replies !
  5. Thanks ! I spent 10 minutes in Maps looking for it without any luck....you've obviously got better technique ! Weird though... I'm usually not so bad with it....
  6. Hi ...does anyone know the name (and/or email and/or other contact info) for this pharmacy, please ? It's said to be better than Faschinos. "The pharmacy located on Sukhumvit. It is located on the left side of Sukhumvit about 100 metres after Highway 7 joins Sukhumvit driving South towards Pattaya Klang. Thepharmacy building is paintedgreen and not hard to find"
  7. I need some good advice. I fear I might have "missed the boat" as far as making a move to Thailand. I had planned to move 7 or so years ago ...and I kept abreast of ThaiVisa and government requirements for retired folk living in LOS until about 5 or so years ago. ThaiVisa is AseanNow ....and, somehow, I find it more difficult to find the info I'm looking for....that's probably my fault ! So some background. I'm 72. Australian. I have a luuk kreung daughter who is 11 years old and a Thai wife. We've never lived together but we get on well when I've stayed for a few months. I'm still working ( to generate money to help maintain my superannuation. ) Now I could sell up in Australia...raise around B9m and get a pension of about B40,000 per month. But if I live another 15 years the capital might not last long enough to leave some money to my daughter I understand about the marriage visa and reporting requirements. That's ok. Two things I don't understand. First...medical insurance or self-insurance. I think you can self-insure by putting B1m in a bank account. But what happens if you need to use half of it for a heart attack? Do you have to replenish it? And will they chuck you out if you can't top it back up. (The prices for annual insurance over 70 appear exorbitant.) Second, the Government seems to have been becoming less and less welcoming and comfortable with ordinary farangs (as opposed to super wealthy ones) in the last 10 years. It could change with the new Government, but who knows which way? I worry that the government might continue raising the bar until I'm no longer able to stay (but I've burned my boats in Australia). Any good information and sound thoughts appreciated !
  8. Hi again, My daughter needs some maths coaching on Saturdays.... She lives in Map ta Phut. She was doing ok until COVID came along....but she fell behind and hasn't recovered. She's at REPS School Ban Chang. I see there are several Kumon Schools that do coaching type programs for maths. * Does anyone have any experience with them? *Can you advise a good one?....There seem to be several Kumons in the area...can you recommend one...or have any feedback? *Can anyone advise contacts for a good private maths coach? That might be a better solution....English or Thai language ok. I will be more than grateful for any help. Thanks a lot..... Mark
