  1. Hi there all electricity experts. I live in Nakhon Nayok and have problems with power supply. My 18,000 Btu fixed speed air-conditioner works fine in my bedroom on its own, but it will not work if my housekeepers 13,000 Btu air-conditioner is on at the same time.

Today I am changing my housekeepers Air conditioner to a inverter type air-conditioner that is supposed to function okay down to 150 V. This might solve my problem, but if it doesn’t there are many other solutions. Note that my current grid supply is from a metre 600 m away from which I get normally 210 V. By increasing the size of the cable I will probably get 220 volts.

1, Solar cell, if it was possible to have a solar cells and batteries installed that would supplement my grid power enough to have both Air conditioners functioning and was not outrageously expensive then that would be the most climate friendly solution.

2, change my room air-conditioner to a inverter type as well might work.

3, get a second meter and power supply to place the two air-conditioners on different meters. This would be from a supply line which is about 100 m from my house and uses a different transformer

I would be interested in your guys comments on the best solution.

    Cheers

Because, according to our leader, all healthcare workers have been vaccinated making her immune and unable to transmit the virus.

On a side note, my wife has been informed that she must have an updated covid test to travel home from BKK for Song Kran. This comes from our home and not from BKK. Seems there are/will be check points and you will be turned back w/o it.

    (home is Nakhon Nayok Province)

Is there any way to check if this is true for certain? I live in Nakhon Nayok and I’m due to travel to Bangkok tomorrow for Eye test on Saturday and back to Nakhon Nayok on Monday. The eye test is a six monthly check and so can be put off without problem.

    Thanks

More nonsense from someone........a sales pitch for the Swede's lawyer wife!

The Thai laws re intestacy are perfectly clear. A Thai Will  ensures who will get the assets in Thailand (most usually the wife), but without a Will, assets will be distributed once the equivalent of Thai probate has been obtained.

Yes, And I seem to remember that Thai law specifies exactly how the estate is divided when there is no will. If I am correct and somebody knows how it is divided I would like to hear

Drivers are not supposed to reject rides but some will by saying the passenger was a no show. The 'ride-share' system is automated and drivers compete with each other to accept passenger requests. Drivers accept the request to keep it from going to others, but after reviewing the actual call request may change their mind.

The APP should have a method for rating a request/ride or submitting abuse reports.

Suggest you google the app name and see if other users have similar issues and how they deal with it.

Curiously the driver I eventually got from the roadside said he sometimes uses Grab but not usually because if you get a message you have to accept it. He prefers line man where as the messages come up you can grab one you want to do.

A major problem with Grab is you cannot contact them. From my point of view they are quite useless.

Um, "Grab"?      or more specifically: Grab - Transport, Food Delivery, Payments

Visit the Grab website and scroll to the bottom of the page for App Store or Play Store links

Thanks very much for your help. I installed the Grab application. Last night I used it for the first time, ordered a taxi for 7:15 pm on the app. Was shown as scheduled until 7:15 pm then it disappeared. No taxi arrived, couldn’t find a number to ask where my taxi is. What did I do wrong?

I very much doubt it is 6m, as that would be very very rare in Thailand, and although the photo is not clear it looks pretty thin.

If its anything above a couple of meters they are far to strong and dangerous for anyone but experienced snake handlers to deal with.

Would love to see some photos of it in daylight?

Could I be wrong? Yes it might have been only 5 to 5 1/2 m. I think I said 6 inches in diameter and in this case I think it’s more likely if I’m wrong that it was 7 inches. I have a huge old tamarind tree that at one point it was stretched out along one of the branches and so I got a good measure of its size. It really was huge, so much so that I tried to forbid my housekeeper from going out to look at it again. My guess is that it would easily capture and squeeze to death and large animal such as a cow.

  7. The last few days we have discovered a 6 m long python with diameter of at least 6 inches living in 100 year old tamarind tree close to our house. It’s big enough to be a danger to people as well as my dogs. Does anybody have any suggestions of how to persuade it to go away.

    cheers

  8. I have had this problem of having to get up to pee at night. Admittedly not more than once at night but still annoying. The urologist said stop complaining you are getting old ha ha ( I am 76). I also take the prostate support made by now and the problem has gone away. I also had a problem staying asleep during the whole night, I tried melatonin but it didn’t help. I am now taking an antihistamine, Loratadine and I sleep like a dream. @Sheryl Is there any long-term risk from a daily antihistamine?

    Cheers
