  1. Does the camera require SSL to work? Perhaps it's trying to redirect you to an SSL page and you haven't forwarded the correct port.

When you're connected directly to the camera (i.e. not behind a firewall) does it forward you to a new port after logging in?

Edit: You should also check if the camera is using TCP/UDP and you have it configured correctly in the firewall/router. All streaming video apps that I know of use UDP. So it may require certain ports over TCP and other ports over UDP.

Maybe that's the point: Until now I didn't config the routers firewall.

Will go to the shop at the afternoon and check it out - hope, that's it!

    Thanx a lot

  2. I just set up an ip cam at my shop, get ddns and forwarded the camera's port.

On the internet I can reach the cam's password request - but that's it: although the right password the password request only shows up again and again and I never can reach the cam itself.

I can also successfully ping the cam, but seems to be slow, ping time = ~350ms.

Somebody knows what's wrong or where to screw?

  3. Maybe I see you beeing a little bit arrogant? Or better ignorant?

So many people (also on Thai Visa as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong) changed already from the dark side...

Quote ...Linux for servers where it belongs...

Maybe you just didn't realize that this verdict is at least five years old and so long time outdated?

And you also didn't realise the rush from Vista bringing the people to Linux? Or the eeePC and a lot of other netbooks? Have you ever heard of Ubuntu?

Internet is for information, not only for pix...

I myself said goodbye to M$ more than two years ago and I never regretted.

  4. Using Opera since ver.3 or so, best developed browser ever.

But difficult, still looking for AMD64 bit version/Ubuntu hardy...

...Happy, now the official built on Opera's download page...

  5. 8.9" screen @ 15,000 BHT

With Atom processor, apparently available "now" in Thailand, saw an ad in the paper.

Acer also has 14" a laptop for BHT 12,990 which I find pretty incredible.

That price is with an 8GB SSD, 3 cell (2.5 hours) battery, and Linux.

If you want the 80GB hard drive, 6 cell (5 hours) battery, and XP, it's priced at ~20,000.

If you don't mind the 8GB SSD, and can get the 6 cell battery for a good price, it's worth getting the Linux one and throwing XP on it, if you have an extra copy around.

This laptop does not have bluetooth though, so no bluetooth mice, phones, headsets, etc.

How crazy someone must be surfing the web with that bloated peace of crap, XP as a system for a netbook, God beware!

  6. 1. Just open the browser on another desktop (if you are using Linux ;-)). There are free multiple desktop solutions also for Windows, but I don't remember them anymore.

    2. Not sure if it works for your special pages, but maybe you give the Opera browser a try?

  7. I'm already using the beta, still some smaller hickups, but nothing really serious - above all just really fast, I like this one on my AMD64X2!

Will download the endversion asap when available, will be next week Thursday or Friday here in LOS.

PM me, will give you the copy.

But if you wanna maintain it you need internet-connection for nearly everything!

    Regards,
