  1. There are certain restrictions on what jobs foreigners can do, suggest you look into that.

Also work would require a Work Permit, although many do work without it, a restaurant is a place where you will be noticed by everyone, and someone might just say something.

No problem if you apprenticed under a famous chef a[ 5 star ]

  2. Jomtien would seem a better bet to me; no real competition, lots of people with plenty of money and fairly poor public transport to Tesco which is the nearest proper supermarket.

Yeah, I'm always amazed at all the wealthy looking people I see riding the baht-buses in Pattaya/Jomtien smile.png

For the last 10 years I have wondered why there is no regular bus service on Thepassitt to Tesco..coffee1.gif

  3. Most of the shops you see selling blank DVDs and general computer accessories will sell extension cables suitable for earbuds. I've got several, 6mts @90 baht, 15mts @ 200 baht. The longer ones can lose a little volume. Shops will sell wireless headphones but they don't appear to be popular. You don't need an electrician.

I'm not mobile, anyone can come to me or near Soi 7 Jomtien?

  4. Where can I buy earphones, any type but with 2 insert prongs [why do some work with only one?] and a long wire so I can watch and hear in bed without waking my lady.

Can the ones you buy allover be extended? Is there a wireless option? Electrician?

  5. This comes as no surprise

IMO Thai people have for a long time lived beyond their means.

For so many Thais as soon as they get their monthly salary at

the beginning of the month they rush of to go shopping or they

go out for meals. Then when the last 7 - 10 days of they either

have no money left for food / water and they spend the last few

days of the month eating mama noodles.

They have no concept of saving and budgets, yet so many have

IPhones and Bloackberry's. Priorities are so out of whack, they

eat and be happy today and they do not think or worry about

    tomorrow

That's the problem with all warm countries where they do not have to plan for the winters,Greece?

  6. For USA citizens,

I know you are not hiding but you still need to report as if you were..ermm.gif

Congress has arrogantly passed legislation to control foreign banks on foreign soil. FATCA, for example, requires that every single bank on the planet enter into an information-sharing agreement with the IRS.

Banks that don't comply will face severe penalties, including being subject to a steep withholding tax on funds sourced through the US.

In the long-run, Congress will have put the final nail in the coffin of the US banking system as the market will simply establish an alternative destination to source, clear, and transfer funds.
