How very true, nice country to ride in,,now if they could teach the Thai to drive safely and not cross double lines,respect a motorcycles right to be on the hyways,it would be a very nice place to ride, but as things stand, It is not a place to ride for sheer enjoyment of riding.

I have 2 friends that have had crashes and sold their bikes and refuse to ride here anymore.

Not only the fault of motorists, but partly the fault of Thai scoot riders who refuse to recognise the rights of cars also,pass,crowd up in front of cars at stop lights and then start out and never excede 15 MPH in front of cars,cut them off and just plainn act a ###### fool.,so you can not totally blame the motorist for ignoring a biker,except the passing and driving in what ever lane that seems to suit them at that time.

In the states a car driver that acts as do Thai car jockeys, most would find themselves in the hospital to have a bikers boot removed from their rectum., or .45 ball rounds removed from their bodys and holes patched in their cars,chains removed from their faces and windshields replaced.

I ride my bike for short trips to the store or to town,but not for enjoyment anymore..

I left home to ride up to CM awhile back,and within 50 KM I turned around after a truck came off the left shoulder of the road and made a right turn in front of me and forced me over into oncoming traffic, 2 cars passed in unsafe areas and forced me off onto the left shoulder,not worth the trouble to ride 400 KM.

In the states I averaged 65K miles a year on a scoot,every year for years.

Larry; I would check with a welding shop or better a welding supply as the gas there would be the same except they would have some not pharma. certified food grade as would be required for soda dispensers. also they would be able to sell you the fittings required to adapt for your use, and to refill when needed. and then while you were there,you could find out if they sold AWS #6011, 2.5 MM or smaller welding rods. the only thing I can find are AWS#6013,which is a shit rod,but all Thais will sell from what I can find,,but they must have 6011 as I had 40 Thai welders working for me at Basrah and they had certified with that rod and was all we used[well we used 7010,but it is the same only made for DC current] Thanks.

I have never been bothered with joint pain til last year.

I had a frozen shoulder and the other was so sore that I could barely use the arm,My elbows were also stiff if not continually moved and would wake up hurting in every joint,coarse I have had [orthoscoptic cartliege??] removal from both knees so do not pay to much attn. to the pain there,but it is there. and lived on TYLENOL,seems to be getting better as now I can move my left arm after 6 months.

Kinda seems maybe something besides old age.

We do not have any of the ones here that make any noise,at least in the 3 years I have been here I have never heard one,,but did hear them all the time up around CM.

Most of them are screwed over by farang and the only ones they see are throwing money up in the air and running out from under it. know them a week and marry them or try to take them home with em,and then the bubble breaks,,the dude ain't rich like she thought and the honeymoon is over,,she is gone and so is most of your stuff. they really only wanted a nice living in a nice rich country where everything was milk and honey and to get out of Thailand.

If you know her, she is doing OK ,and wants to stay and live in Thailand and you are not just a money cow,then go for it.

Dont know what size bottles you are using or what for, but you might check with a beer dist. or soda taps use CO2 to power them,,might just be able to change bottles with them if they are the same,or they could tell you where ,,or you might even check with a large welding supply as they use CO2 for shielding of mig welding. if you do not need medical grade that would be your best bet. but watch it cause some are mixed gasses like nitrogen/CO2 or argon/oxy or co2 /oxy..not that those gasses are dangerous if you are just using to power something,,but they are spendy and CO2 is cheap.

When you are young,you can do it every day,sometimes 2 or 3 times.

But as you get older it drops to once a week and older, even less.

I went for 4 months on a job where I would buy 2 big macs for lunch everyday,7 days a week with fries, eat 3 Mac. sausage bisquits for breakfast and then steak or BBQ prime rib for supper with beans ,spuds, garlic toast, and salad at a BBQ joint,,I never got over

171 pounds. and that is not over weight for 6 feet tall.

The same thing happens everywhere,in most places,the cops get it,then if you still have it when you get into the ambulance and are out cold,then you do not have it when you get to the hospital.

And here in our village they can not get thru the partys that go on at this time of year as the partys plug the roads and streets with tents,chairs,tables and sound systems that get you thru the village so no emergency people can get to your house if you have a heart attack or some major accident that requires transit thru the village,,sometimes to get to the hyway to town we have to drive KM's out thru the back way to the roads leading to town or back home.

plachon; I see nothing that says"x farmer", I had a girlfriend that works in BKk as a cleaning lady in a hospital in BKK and she makes 10,000 a month,and that doesn't include being a personal slave.

when we had our house built,everyone here made far in access of 4000 a month and were still not dependable to come to work when farming was to be done.

My inlaws hire a lot of people and they have no one that will work for 4000 a month full time.Can't find people that wikll work for 100 a day anymore.

The handyman that we had working for us quit to go to BKK to work and we paid 200 a day,21 days a month,was not required to work weekends.

No matter if it is a cushy job or not,a person still has to live.

I just don't think it is possible.

no drugs / drinking / smoking etc./personal slave, for 4000 baht a month.

For the first,there is no such thing as a good driver in Thailand.

I can not even find anyone to work fulltime as the fields need work most times of the year and I have a "cousin" that does come and work on a part time basis.

I really do not think that you will find a dependable woman that will work full time for that kinda money if there is farming to do.

At least in our area as the farming takes first priority.

This is about the only question that I can answer with and authority.

There are no banks that can get your money into Thailand for you as the Thai banking authority does not use electronic transfer numbers.

The best way I have found is to keep your US bank, have your money deposited there and then have an ATM/Check card, Use the ATM/Checkcard to transfer from your US acct. to your Thai acct. at your Thai bank, I do this monthly for a fee of 60 baht.and I use SCB. here in Thailand.

So he decided to give it up til he was sucessful and rich and then retire and go back to drinking.

This he did,and sold out and retired at a young age, got out his pipe,slippers and booze.

Spent his days drinking,very soon,he couldn't get sober even for a day,and in very few years,,He died an alcoholic death.
