  1. 230ms or there abouts to US pings same as ADSL connection. VDSL does not really help with ping times.

Can't really change the laws of physics its purely a distance to Thailand thing and how fast you can shove the electrons down a pipe.

However the Ultra Highspeed products are rock solid and had ZERO downtime with it.

I would say the 30mb is probably best value for speed.

so you are getting around 200ms with VDSL? if so, i think its so much better. im getting around 400-500 usually on True/TOT/3BB.

  2. 35/2-8 Rajdamri Road, Lumpini, Pathumwan Bangkok 10330, THAILAND :o

Thanks so much. any idea which train station is nearest to this place and how far from the station?

  3. oh.. not gay spa please.. im bringing clients there.. haha.. anyway its pretty normal in Malaysia, Singapore, taiwan and many countries to have such spas.. just cant find a single 1 in Thailand .. all of them are within a given time ...

  4. Anyone knows if Bangkok has spas that does not give time limit to use their facilities (eg. steam room, suana, hot/cold pool etc)

So far, the spas in bangkok i have been to are all in a package which i dont quite like.

Any one knows if there are such spas in Bangkok?

  5. Thanks!!!

All I want to do is call, SMS, and stuff.... simple is fine. I shoud still be able to get WIFI, no?

    Thanks for the advice...

    --M.

yes, wifi will not be affected even if you do not have the sim adapter. you can use it like an ipod.

As long as you use a 2G sim card, there shouldnt be too much problem with the sim adapter. most problems happen when you use the adapter with a 3G simcard.

  6. All iphones in US are locked. So you will need to get the sim adapter in bangkok. You will not be able to use 3G functions with the sim adapters. You may also experience loss of signal with most sim adapters after a while

If you wanna install 3rd party application, you will need to jailbreak the phone. If you just want to use the phone, makes calls and sms then you can just get a sim adapter and use it since it is already activated when you bought.

    Good luck!

  7. The rapid wearing away of the painted surfaces on Dell laptops is appalling, and their biggest shortcoming in my view. I managed to convince Dell customer care to replace the entire casing (which they claim was not covered by warranty as it is a cosmetic issue) but they said they did it as a "one-time gesture to restore faith in their company". I only had the computer 10 months and it had very light use. I sold it immediately after the case was replaced. We also had this exact same issue with two other Dell notebooks in Thailand, not to mention multiple overheating issues on two units. I would discourage the OP against purchasing the XPS M1330 he is interested in for these very reasons.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I too read very good reviews about the 1330, they did mention it got warm but not a major overheating problem. Nevertheless I'll take on board what you said and do some more research .

Back to the original question, are there any Dell authorised agents or just plain retailers in Pattaya or Bangkok ?

I have been using the XPS M1330 for the past 3 months and i like it a lot. It just gets warm sometime but definately not skin-burning temperature.

Also dont choose the Texedo Black. It leaves your finger-print marks there. I went for the Blue and my girl went for the Red, they were very good quality. The paints dont drop for us.

Go for it. I bought it from Singapore and the warranty is valid internationally. You can buy it there or if you need help to purchase it, feel free to pm me as i travel between BKK and SG often.

  8. Funny you mention that. I am getting almost exactly that speed out of TRUE 2 MB. Cost = 890 plus VAT because I use their Digital Sat TV.

I met a guy at PanTip that has 4 MB. TRUE even called him up to make sure he was happy - it seems like you are VIP when you pay for that speed. TRUE also offer 3MB which is what I would suggest. It's just a little more a month.

thanks for that info. it helps..

  9. i am moving to a new place and lm looking to subscribe to the True internet. I have been using TOT goldcyber (2mb) package for the past 10 months and i am very happy with their speed during the night. I experience full speed 220kb/sec in Bitcomet.

My question is whether True Internet 4mb is worth the price? Anyone can provide some information on their PEAK Download speed for the 4mb package or should i go the 2mb package?

    please advise.

  10. Hi Guys,

i would like to know if there are any spa (good ones) that has facilities that has no time limit. Usually spas i have been to give you an hr or so for a certain facility. (Hot / Cold Pool, Suana, steam room etc)

Any recommedations? Willing to pay a good price for such facility.

NOTE: NO GAY SPAS :o Massage should be by Ladies only

  11. i just imported a new dell xps 1330 from US. The declared value was US$999 however Thai customs valued it at 20000 bahts (Much lower). Anyway i do not think thai customs will ripped you off UNLESS you purposely declared a ridiculous low value. Thailand charges 7% import tax for Computers. No Duties charged.

I paid 1400 baht + 20 bahts (EMS Service Charge) happily. This is not the first time i have imported notebook into Thai. 7% isnt high. The savings you get by buying from US is more than 15% for notebooks. Just pay the tax.

Do not send via Fedex/UPS/DHL. They charge a high service fee because they will pay for the tax for you and deliver it to you. For EMS, you have to collect it from the post office after they send you the notification slip.

I didn't know you could ship EMS from the USA. Contact?

they are shipped by USPS when in US... when the shipment reaches Thailand, it is handle by EMS. this is a very standard procedure worldwide :o
