Okay, I finally admit, UBC Platinum Package is a waste of money. I only subscribed to Plat. package because i wanted to watch the live telecast of EPL. (Unfortunately the club i support is not one that regularly have live telecast hence I have to subscribed to Plat. to watch them play).
Now, my question is, i know there are Satellite TV installation but is there any Satellite TV that shows sports channels like True Sports EXTRA ...
Please advise as im intending to cancel this sucky subscription.
Thanks

As far as I know there are 2 prices....
(1) One for the 1.1.2 phone that cannot be unlocked. Users must use a cut sim card to use their iphone. These phones are about Bt21k.
(2) The rarer 1.1.1 phones can be fully unlocked and can use any sim card but a shortage of supply means that they are selling for about Bt25k.
It looks like the latest iphones need an extra bit of hardware to unlock them and the days of software unlock are gone....
true. the 1.1.2 are the most common now. 1.1.3 is out but still unhackable.. so that means most of them in the market now are 1.1.2 which requires the sim unlock chip.
-
And how much it costs now over in States? $400?
$399 before tax.
-
Theres no chip and yes it comes ready to use.
You sure 19,500? When did you last see that price? I was under the impression they were up to 26,000 at least due to limitted supplies since the new models cannot be used in Thailand yet.
Damian
oh i see. i think the no chip ones are the older firmware version of 1.1.1... the 1.1.2 requires a chip.. the 1.1.3 is unhackable at the moment... i've been quoted more than 22k in MBK.
-
19,500 at MBK
Does this price include the chip for the iphone to recognise the simcard as well?

How much is the iphone selling in Bkk now?

Yes, in fact for the past 1 week, this is the 3rd day that TOT is having problem during the afternoon. Downlaoding speed at night remains good. i hope they solve these issues asap.

I have tried it and though the price is cheap but i rather pay 0.5 bahts more for Thai Calling Card By CAT.
The connection by DD is poor. I experienced 2-3 secs lag for calls to Singapore while i dont encounter that with CAT.
http://www.thaitelephone.com i highly recommend CAT calling card.
Its toll free too for 2 bahts per mins.

From last night after i installed SP3 till now, my TOT internet connection keeps getting disconnected after every 30 mins or so. It is still happening now.
Is there problem with the TOT connection or is this SP3's issue?
Anyone encountering disconnection problems from TOT now?

With 4 people you are probably best off hiring a mini van...about 2500 each way but like another post said pee breaks smoke breaks and snack stops...a taxi is fine but not a lot of room for luggage and if your family travels like mine the extra room is needed..I tried to hunt up a phone munber of one we used to use but no luck will pm you if I find it...I`m sure there are others in here that use mini vans and should be able to help you
hey dude, that will be great. please pm me once you manage to find it. Appreciate it!

Thanks to all for the replies.... Looks like we have quite a few options here..

Actually, you can get it for quite a bit cheaper here, as long as you look around. The reason that I can say this is because I'm in the market for the same camera, since I sold my old one to a friend. The price I was quoted for just the camera (Canon Thailand warranty) was 22,500. Add the kit lens and you get around 26,500. For the gray market import, it's cheaper, at 18,000 baht for the body only and 22k for the kit (this is the Japanese "kiss" version). Fotofile's prices are controlled by Canon Thailand, and usually not very practical indicators of the general market.
SLRs will perform the best if you use a good lens with it. The kit lens is so-so, nothing to write home about. The "new" kit lens with IS (image stabilization) is supposed to be much better, but only some stores have it (and the kit will be more expensive). Another alternative is the Tamron 17-50 F2.8 lens, which is around 12k baht, and very good and sharp, a great value for the price, and much better than the original kit lens. Believe me, you'll be able to do much more with this lens.
However, there seems to be a major shortage of the camera (at least the gray market import type) at this time, since it's suddenly very hard to find. However, the stores say that shipments should come in around next week.
just got quoted by the distributor in Singapore. He can offer me @ S$1050 (abt 24000 bahts) after GST refund with the lens. Global warrnaty. Looks like its a good deal there.

27,900 in Fotofile, Bangkok

Great camera, but the the kit lens is pretty crap.
Thanks! yeah its a great camera... i think its cheaper to buy from SG then.

Take the train. Dirt cheap and you get to see the country. Maybe not the quickest or most comfortable way to travel but a real experience, and i love not being trapped in my seat - you can get up and walk about whenever you please, not like on the coaches.
sounds great but the timing does not fit our requirement. i have considered this option but just too bad.

Planning to go to HuaHin in Jan 08 and was wondering where can i get a good and reasonable priced transport? Round trip for 4 pax.
Anyone?

Anyone here using the above camera? Any idea how much it is to buy in BKK?
Was thinking to buy it from Singapore as i'm able to get it at around US$800. not sure if this camera is available in BKK at around this price.

im with UBC Platinum simply for its EPL telecast. i can get to watch my favourite team almost every week.
Channels such as AXN, HBO, i think UBC has no control over what is showing as it is not scheduled by them.
Its a high price to pay for the Platinum package but i will pay just to watch my team play.

SEA GAMES start today and was wondering if UBC is broadcasting the games. If they are, which channels are the ones showing? i can't seem to find it.

i have been using TOT for the past 3 months in BKK.. i think during the past 3-4 weeks, it has stablised and i didnt encounter any downtime for the past 3-4 weeks.
Im on cybergold (2mb). Downloading with bitcomet peaks at 200kb/s +- usually after midnight.
speed is good in the noon.
Yes, TOT has performed well enough for me in November.

Hi, i like to know which good hotels in HuaHin provides connecting rooms. i prefer somewhere near the central or in the central area.

I have a prepaid sim card and since im only using it to receive incoming calls, my credit expired last week. I continue to receive incoming calls.
my question is will this go on or i have to top up at some point before they disconnect it totally?

You have to go to a MEA branch - or you pay by online banking (possible with Kasikorn).
If ever they cut your electricity, you got the money transfer to show.
thanks! looks like i have to make a trip to the branch. Any idea if they are impatient with cutting off the supply? its only overdue for a week so far. i hope they are patient with me and wait till next week.

Any idea if this phone works with 2 sim cards from 2 different countries.
Which means 1 of them will be roaming in Thailand and the other one will be DTAC card.
Anyone knows?
