Balderdash ( thought that the b word I was thinking of might have upset the TV police ), good as these intentions might be there is no chance that any will be progressed during this corrupt parliament.
The first priorities should be, to completely restructure the public education system from pre-school through to university, to design syllabuses for subjects necessary in the international modern world. Not subjects like "Thainess" and such other abstract dreams. They can learn Thainess in the Temples at the weekend. They should reduce the amount of sport that is pursued in school time. I am keen on sport and played a lot of sport as a teenager in my own time. Sport is good but it has to be run alongside formal lessons.
The other priority is Corruption! Even more difficult than Education. But no pussy footing around, it needs to be attacked by a Strike Force of immense power, where would they find that? I have no answer to that, not the Police Force nor the Army, Navy and Airforce. UN? I think that they have too much on their plates at this moment. They are crippled at the moment as Russia and China have the power to block any decisions the democratic members want to make.
If an anti-corruption drive is ever started it will take more than 7 years to complete, more likely it will take several generations and more than 100 years. The corruption in Thailand is accepted by a vast majority of the Thai population as it is all they have ever known like several generations before them. They need to learn that a lack of corruption will enhance the country, benefit Thailand financially and individuals thus will have more money in their bank account. Thailand's status in the world will be much higher and I suggest more of a better class of tourist will want to enjoy the charms of Thailand.
As I am almost 78 I do not expect to witness these improvements, and I unfortunately expect that if I lived as long as Methuselah I still would not witness any progress.
