  1. lucky he wasnt in as 10 guys with sticks could do a lot of damage!!!

The house owner and her Husband were forced to lie on the floor on their stomachs while the men checked the house

    :o

"They mentioned that they had the authority to check the house and search for a suspect named as Khun Jatoopon, who is the owner’s son. He was not at the house and was at his place of work in Laem Chabang."

......Il say it again "lucky he wasnt in as 10 guys with sticks could do a lot of damage!!!"

they were looking for the son and i dont think they were gonna tickle him with there sticks :D

if you still dont understand then please pm me and i will try to write more simply...if its possible :D:D:D

  2. <snip>

. Our meals arrived at 9:30pm, 1 hour 30 minutes after we ordered.

When we asked for the bill, we got another nice surprise, the price of a small Chang beer had risen from around 40 or 50 baht to 90 baht. 90 baht for a small chang beer in a small cheap restaurant.. Im no cheap charlie but I have been here long enough to know that is way overpriced.

Since we have ate there several times and the owner knows us quite well, we were a little disappointed that it seemed as though "indian customers come first". The cooks even cleared their table before making any attempt at making our meals...

    <snip>

2 more customers came whilst we were waiting who also had a long wait and they also noticed what was going on, so it wasn't just us who noticed this..

They were always slow making the orders when they were down at the bottom of the hill by Thepprasit too.

It wasn't really the slowness which annoyed me, but the fact that the indians were ordering extra's all throughout their meal and ordering more as they were eating, So the cooks decided to wait until the indians left before making any attempt to make our meals.. This included clearing their tables after they left when we had already been waiting an hour, and THEN starting to make our meals.. I don't mind if they are slow due to being full or very busy, but seeing the cooks standing chatting with the Indians when we were starving wasn't very pleasant when we had already been waiting an hour..

It doesn't matter though, It won't be happening again as they have lost my custom now (and possibly the custom of the other 2 guys who were complaining about the same thing)

I'm going for an Indian at Carrefour this week. Will report back here how it goes :D

im afraid i would have said something before waiting an hour especially as you saw them cooking more food for there friends......and when im really hungry my patience/politeness is not so good,i dont blame you for not going back again although maybe if you did you could say that you will wait 20/30 mins max and if not cooked then will not pay/stay.......see what he says to that.

im afraid the business owners here dont have much sense when it comes to retaining customers....they obviously felt the friends were more important than your custom, when will they ever learn....................never :o

  3. I'll definitely be giving this place a try since I had an awful experience last time at my favorite Indian on Soi Bua Khao (The Tikka Center which I have previously recommended).. Prices dont sound too bad. I usually pay 130 for chicken tikka masala + 40 for yellow rice, and 20 baht each Naan/Popadoms...

just being nosey but what was the awful experience as i have ordered many times there before and like you i have recommended it

  4. these things happen all the time in every city in the world, they happen so often papers can't even be bothered reporting it as it isn't news just the norm, no idea why it makes the news on websites like this.

you only have to visit any hospital casualty dep in the uk on a friday or sat night around midnight onwards to see dozens of victims who have been stabbed glassed or punched/kicked sensless. most of it doesnt reach the news paper's.

most stuff dont reach the news pages sure but in this case an O.A.P minding his own business was attacked with a knife in the street for no real reason.......might make the news in a few towns/cities.

  5. WOW,first off im surprised they arrested him so well done these bib...........second off its bad enough that kids go around blowing off rounds for fun etc but a cop does it as hes angry he lent a firearm to a friend who doesnt answer his phone ...eh?? what did he lend a firearm for anyway, sounds dodgy in itself! well we are in dodge town so alls normal

  6. For such a massive project , Does the developer and also builder have the correct expertise to complete such a massive project , from what i have read the developer has done nothing even close to such a project ,makes me wonder if they ever do sell it and start if they can actually complete it .

answer to the question concerning expertise !

the developer have qualification in germany 20 years ago like " hair dresser "

and coming in thailand with a few thousand bath in his pocket !

    that's a very succesfull story ...............................;

in that case then if he dont give deposits back they might be able to get quite a few cut and blow dry"s instead :D or a few rides in the porsche, bmw, bently or ferrari they bought him and his mia noi"s :o

  7. so a quick recap so far: majority of people do not consider themselves as "heavily tattooed", the ones who do seem to live in farang areas or thereabout. Everybody seems to get along ok (one even makes a bit of dosh out of it), but that's easy in Thailand. However one thing is living in Thailand another is being part of the society (having a stake in it), none addressed this so far. General consensus is how people tend to react when confronted by a heavily tattooed person in Thailand, which same around the world. Finally kudos for the heavily tattooed men and women who have participated to the discussion, they put their face here unlike the one who chickened out in fear. Let's continue with the discussion, at what skin coverage stage tattoo cease to be a fashionable statement and becomes a fetish?

heres another recap......i know you only started this topic to get one over on your arch nemesis........why not be the better man and just agree to disagree. we could all start topics to create bias for our own thoughts on things to prove our point in an arguement with another member.i like a good arguement myself but starting and controlling topics im not really interested in is a little bit O.T.T :o

  8. Personally, I find them offensive--if I can see them. I avoid people with tattoos; I don't know why, but I do.

I tattooed "W" on eatch Butt cheek!! :burp:

i tattooed M on each butt cheek, dad wasnt impressed.

What was you dad doing checking out your butt cheeks? :(

well he would notice them when he was bathing me..............something wrong with that :D

So your dad still bath you after you got your tattoo? :D a bit old to be bath by your dad aren't you? :o

maybe il start a new topic asking at what age its still ok to be bathed by your dad.....10? 15? 20? in hospital when sick its ok to be bathed by an adult(the nurse) so why not by your dad :P:D:D:D

  9. Well I never liked Tattoos before but finally got a nice sleeve tattoo (Japanese).

Many Thais do have religious tattoos as well (usually done at some special temples)

I do not like to "show" my tattoo, it is my private and personal thing. So I never get a wide feedback from the Thai people. However some Thai friends know it and they like it.

So I am happy with it.

thats strange, you never liked tattoos before but had one done...........do you mean you never saw any you liked but then found one and had it done or did something happen that generally changed your attitude towards them.just interested

just to mention to other tattoo haters who think we have them done to be special etc, well i forget i have tattoos until someone mentions them and a lot of mine are hidden 99 percent of the time so no one sees them....i had them done for me and will have some more hidden ones done for me.....if i did them to be special or whatever then surely i wouldnt have more done where no one else will see them :o

  10. Personally, I find them offensive--if I can see them. I avoid people with tattoos; I don't know why, but I do.

I tattooed "W" on eatch Butt cheek!! :D

i tattooed M on each butt cheek, dad wasnt impressed.

What was you dad doing checking out your butt cheeks? :D

  11. bang on tatoodrob,exactly my thoughts 100%

thanks, i would also like to know the age of OP ,if 40 up then i would guess its the money shes really interested in,also where did he meet her.....a bar or similar regular farang hang out ......then its game over. she may not even careif he finishes her as she now has thai contacts that would help her in the usa and i presume the visa is valid for a while yet........hence if he dont provide something quickly she has time to find an alternative. sorry to say that

  12. she gave the the sin sod to them without asking you first, she went back and didnt go to the hospital which i presume she said she was going to do.its not a good start is it??

dont mean to put a dampner on it but a lot of girls want to get to the usa as they think its land of milk and honey as many friends/associates have probably told her she can make good money there.

her mother has already got a fair sum(this wasnt enough to sort out this terrible termite problem?),whether its her family or actually probably her that wants more then i would tell her she can get more work and pay for your household together and extra can go towards saving for the house.if it really was some sort of emergency then the 10k a month would enable them to rent a place meantime although im still concerned for you of where the sinsod has supposedly gone to??

some of the suggestions already given in former posts will answer whether she really wants to be with you or whether you were just a ticket/visa providor.

to be honest i think this is only the start of things to come and like some have said you need to put your foot down and speed the outcome up a bit .

    good luck

ps her working in a thai restaurant talking to other thais is not such a good idea as they will like to talk about stories of rich american men etc taking care of their thai friends and call you a keeniow if you dont give everything she wants.

  13. interesting replies guys, it seems that for some in Pattaya, being heavily tattooed can be a career path. But let's put flesh on the bones and try to visualise what is a heavily tattooed person:

what you call this man heavily tattooed?

    post-7932-1226940843_thumb.jpg

if not, what would you call him?

not my cup of tea but......

i would call him heavily tattood, who wouldnt??? whats your point???

i dont get/feel persecuted for having tattoos and dont care anyway......the prison stigma aint what it used to be.i would also say the younger generation accept it/like it more than the older, same as clothes ,music etc and to further go on i think i read that in younger people more people have than dont have :o

  14. Tattoos dont worry me..it seems to be the done thing and I take my hat off to those who are not concerned about looking like a fool at 60 years of age.

It may even have the benefit of encouraging one to keep in good physical condition for as long as possible.

    My own children included.

More immedietly threatening in appearasnce is the shaved head with 6 long dreadlocks down the back, combine the two and if the bearer is over 100 kilos and you have a person to cross the street for......unless you have a gut full of lao khao.

a lot of guys at 60 have been known to start to have tattoos, maybe they will worry about looking a fool at 80 :o

i guess you may be right about keeping in shape ,no one wants saggy tattoos :D

personally im not bothered if i look a fool(to you or other tattoo dislikers) now or at 60 , il be quite happy if i last till 60 :D ,seriously though everyone always asks what about when your older(when youre heavily tattood),to be honest what do i care, ive lived most of my life by then and wont be looking for a job, going discos or competing with 20 to 40 yr olds......il be more worried about arthritus, cancer, heart attack etc than to worry about general public opinions.

im heavily tattood and aint finished yet....to sarge i would say that i call someone heavily tattood when they have a lot...some people would say 4 or 5 tattoos is someone heavily tattood but i would say someone who has a lot of skin areas covered but in percentage

wise even 20 to 30 percent is quite a lot as there is a hel_l of a lot of skin on us.

by the way i dont like all tattoos on people even though i have a lot...it depends on design etc.some look good some look bad, same as everything in life.everyones welcome to their opinion and im not bothered if someone does or doesnt talk to me because i have tattoos :D

  15. I have a religious and cultural tatoo and I have never had any bad looks or been avoided.

Alot of Thais have religious tatoos from temples so I do not think the general polulation of Thailand frowns at tatoos.

Do not believe the old tale that just because a Thai girl has a tatoo she is whore....this just is not true anymore but it would not hurt to be suspicious :D:o

what if he/she has steve on one arm, dave on the other and martin on his/her bum :D

  16. This is the Pattaya forum discussing how the cops operate in Pattaya. I have no experience with cops anywhere else.

Here's a little story from one of my two ticket encounters with local cops.

About 8am I was riding up Soi 16 on the way to the gym - the wrong way. This is in the heart of the Walking Street area so it doesn't get any more tourist "ghetto" than there.

A cop stopped me and asked for my licence. I didn't have it with me so he ticketed me for 2 offences - (1) driving the wrong way (2) not carrying a licence.

He couldn't keep my licence as I didn't have it with me so he had every right to take my keys until I could prove I'd paid the ticket. He didn't! He let me ride my bike to the police station on Soi 9 to pay it and he asked me to return there to show him the receipt. 650 baht all up.

I thought that was very decent of him.

In Pattaya if you are stopped for a traffic offence the procedure is quite simple.

    1. Show your licence (if you have one).

    2. Ask for the ticket. (200 baht for no helmet)

    3. Pay the ticket at the local police station.

(Note: I stress in point #2 to ASK for your ticket. If he starts making innuendos for an on-the-spot cash payment, just say: "no thanks, please give me a ticket")

The cop will keep your licence and hand it in to the Soi 9 police station, so it's better to wait until the next day to pay so that your licence will be there when you arrive.

If you don't have a licence and are not as lucky as I was in the above story, he will keep your keys at his post and you will have to use public transportation to get to Soi 9 to pay your ticket. When you show the cop your receipt he will return your keys.

and i have seen the cop hanging on the corner there,he likes to wait just around the corner as he knows this is an easy money making spot as the one way sign is not very big and im pretty sure you cant see it till you turned or about to turn so if you come from pratumnak side you will have turned before you even know its illegal....and then there he is amongst the taxi drivers stood/sat there.

hes done me and i explained i didnt know it was one way only(i do now,it was a while ago this happened!) then he pointed out the sign which as i already said is not easy to spot when turning left......you would have to stop before turning, look up and then take action there is or was nothing on the main road to point out that this is no left turn.this is a bit sneaky i think,he could stand on the actual corner and not wait till you turn..........anyway the point is i see taxi drivers turning here to park outside the store there and i seen other thais not get stopped too,but any farang and he springs into action.

dont believe me then ask the taxi guys(ask when hes not there) or hang about over the road there for a few minutes sometimes. \

i have no problem with things when its the same rule for everyone.........its not ,well at least not all the time.

  17. Ok, if your a Sikh you don't have to wear a helmet.... OR if you wear a turban you don't have to wear a helmet? And I will consider changing religion if it helps! :D But I will only wear cool looking turbans. OK!

    post-63954-1226889386_thumb.jpg

    Thats Sic....not Sikh!

you think that looks cool :o
