I recall flying from Koh Phi Phi ( was it PP??) decades ago. He headed out to sea, turned around towards the beach and barely made it up over the trees! Took off on floats and landed in Dom on wheels. Great flight. Also had a few more in Canada.

I'd reckon this is just about the norm for anybody in a position of power in Thailand. The cops were probably pissed he got there before them.

78 humans died under appalling inhumane conditions - and just now he apologises for this barbarism. Was anyone held accountable for these deaths which were easily avoided? Just another example of how dreadful this country and its leaders can be.

Wow....a whole 100? This mall island, Ireland, grants about 12-15,000 a year to various foreigners. Including hundreds of Thais.

These workers are not doing themselves any favours by stopping rescue/recovery from Thai rescue teams. Beating up a rescue vehicle? Not the cleverest move but possibly understandable.
