  1. it up to the general thai population to work this out.

until then this snot will be ongoing..

until people stop revering the facade, until people learn to think- not to parrot.

the man who accessed the exam papers....?

this dean of electrical engineering whose statement is on the power pole thread...?

all you can say is som nam naa.. it is only they who can stop digging this hole

    :o

  2. ah.. a laptop.

yes i think you should shut it down when not in use.. they get rather hot during normal usage as a matter of course.. an if your laptop has a desktop processor in it rather than a mobile processor it will get very hot... one of the cooling stands might be a good purchase,, you need to ensure airflow under the laptop. you can tell the processor by looking in the bios on startup....press f2 on the dell start screen and have a look thru.. and when you have finished exit without saving..

as a side note.. I have an older dell laptop that I use an external ps2 keyboard with.. because the laptop keyboard has problems and it is more comfortable to use an external.. if you are using your laptop manly as a desktop get a usb optical mouse also.

  3. I also was not trying to advertise...

my interests are not for the company that took me on my visa run, my interests are for the members on this forum who I wish to inform of my experience.

from experiences from other posters I feel I was able to avoid a service that could have caused me dissatisfaction, so I feel obligated to relate a service I was satisified with.

  4. there is a new version of skype out now for those of you who have PDAs running the pocketPC2003 os... ( especially if wifi enabled )

another point of note is that they say in their FAQs that they are having problems running skype thru zonealarm.. this has been a cause of my problems using skype.

  5. lol

    reminds me of another joke...

this young lady working for 'meals on wheels' is around at an old blokes place delivering him a feed, when she notices a bowl of almonds on the table.

as she is a bit partial to almonds she asks the man if he would mind if she had a couple.

go ahead he says.. and you might as well take them with you as with my false teeth I cannot eat the almonds... they were given to me as a present.

the girl says thank you.. but who gives you almonds as a present if they know you cannot eat them..

well says the old bloke.... they had chocolate on them when I got them...

  6. the point is that the esteemed leader is more interested in erecting mobile phone towers than constructing infrastructure that can alleviate suffering for millions of people whom he is supposed to be caring for.

as far as he , and his cohorts in the upper circle are concerned , government money is to be spent in furthering their own personal and family fortunes, at the life threatening expense of his people... though I doubt it is on his conscience, I think the concept may well be beyond his perception.

scolding members of this forum may well bring on moments of gratification, but I think it is beyond their reach to influence events.

only the people themselves can change the situation, by electing representitives that actually care about their welfare, and not just aspire to that gold plated mercedes.

I think I might now just have a whiskey, sans water.

  7. ah.. cause stuart is my name... stumonster was a nickname give to me by a friend years ago and I used it online for various email addresses and logins

though could also use another nickname stu...pid also given to me by a mate

but I also go by the moniker line_hiss on IRC

    :o

    Mr PID

  8. Mike ...

The original story was a newspaper article.... and the explanation for the occurance came from A thai academic....

my guess for what really happened is the welder was up the power pole connecting his supply lead when he was distracted by his mobile phone ringing and thus made his severe mistake when he tried to answer his phone...

the thing to take note of here in this story is the thai academic making statements that show his complete lack of understanding of electrical/physical principals

  9. The Vice President and Acting President of the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, Flight Lieutenant Pradit Mongkolapibal

Is it a public company or the airforce? I wonder whose son he is?

corruption and nepotism.... I wonder if the price to get the mercedes serviced just went up?

    :o

the departure price is not too bad compared to other countries... but many of them have much better airport facilities.

many have taxi surcharges way beyond what is paid at don muang.

  10. is your keyboard a normal ps2 or usb one? or does it have a whole heap of nifty buttons and scroll wheels?

if it is just a normal one, buy a new one for 130 baht and see if there is a difference?

are you in an aircond room?

I would not expect a normal ps2 keyboard to get noticeably hotter with prolonged running.

  11. yep the monitor could be a fire hazard if it is not let to go to standby.

temperature in the room that you are running your computer is an issue and the fans that cool your case, pwr supply , cpu and graphics cpu probably need to have some periodic maintenance.
