  1. I haven't used them yet, but the 5 bay auto repair shop right behind the Hang Dong Market seems to be one busy place.

I used them a few times, they seemed OK.

Last time I had the engine rebuilt (20 year old Toyota Mighty X), he quoted 30,000.

When I went to pick it up he wanted 41,000.

Gave him 30,000, got in and drove away.

He said he did a "good job" because I was a farang, maybe he just does crap jobs for Thais, take care.

  2. Perhaps the air traffic controller has been instructed to lie in an attempt to brush off any accusations that he might have been negligent, and at the same time shift the blame to the pilot who is unable to defend himself. Also he has offered an explanation that "saves the pilot's face" by saying that he obeyed the instructions but the plane was caught up in the winds and it was too late. The Lao government and airline is off the hook, the black box will never be found, air traffic control recordings disappear and the families of the innocent victims are screwed as always. What else would you expect from a communist regime?

All you none pilots on this thread have not got a bloody clue and no nothing about this incident, wannabe pilot drivel.

I think everybody has the right to make themselves look stupid?

  3. Need something to carry your pelican?

Possibly you could give a little more information to help people understand what it is you're looking for ... luggage ?? or something for a more specialized purpose or ???

    Yeh, something special!

  5. My own experiences with TRUE were similar, lies, inefficient staff, incorrect invoices etc. In the end I gave them the 2,000 baht they demanded, told them to take the sateliite dish away and never darken my door again. In my opinion a company to steer clear of.

  6. IMO, respect for the "rule of law" is one of the major dividing lines between healthy, productive governments and third world banana republics. Respect for the law is meant not only for individual citizens but also for government officials. With government officials going after the whistle blower who reported that the "emperor has no clothes", they continue to demonstrate that they are firmly embedded as one of the world's leading banana republics. Bravo to the officials who are trying to protect Supa but I suspect their protection is more for political reasons than lofty ideological standards.

    Not only in Thailand!

  8. Doznotdiz

A well known visa assistance company here in CM will do your annual extension for 5,500 baht. On top of that you will have all the normal other costs.

    Joel Barlow

Apart from the address that put on the application form how do they know where you live, I doubt they will send somebody round to check that you live there?

  9. "I'm quite concerned about the idea, and disagree with using Rattanakosin Island areas for motor racing because I'm afraid there could be some impact on ancient sites due to the loud noise and vibration. We have to verify whether these sites on the routes would be affected by the race," said a key BMA official.

Yeah, and also I have not been bunged enough!!
