"If we do not reform education, we will not be able to reform our society and politics that currently create many problems."
The powers that be like it just the way it is, that's why there will be no "reform"

Another "half-arsed" make it up as we go along decision by the "government".
So passengers arriving from aboard need to trek across BKK to get a flight to Phuket/ Chiang Mai etc., bloody brilliant.
Will do wonders for tourism in those locations.
What have the provincial governors got to say?

Sorry but JeffreyMcCollum has a point.
He should not be overcharged with the "well this is Thailand" from the owner, the owner is responsible for the actions and competence of his staff.
As for what JeffreyMcCollum spends that is up to him, he should still get the correct bill.
I ate there once and would not bother again, but that is my choice.

I belive that you are not correct. I used your "logic" and was told by immigration that I was wrong.
They advised that the renewal date is linked to the end date of your PERMISSION TO STAY (the TM6 Departure Card) which could be up to 90 days after the expiry date of your visa (if you did a 90 day visa run a day or so before your main visa expiry date).
That is what I was told be immigration and what i am "trying" to check in case it was a "flight of fancy" by a particular officer.
I think post #201 answers my question.
-
I'm talking about the end date, not the start date.

Your right, what a Prat I am for using this forum to ask questions when I can pay for the advice elsewhere.

I went to do an EXTENSION OF STAY (TM7) yesterday, it was my first. I had booked an on-line appointment for 14:30.
When I arrived the officer at the first desk as you go in just said "sit down and wait for your name to be called", he did not take any paperwork from me, so nobody knew I was there.
At 14:40 I went to one of the "RETIREMENT VISA" desks and asked a very polite lady if I should just sit and wait or what?
She briefly examined my passport and told me:
The expiry date I should be concerned with is not that of my 1 year Non "O" from Hull (UK) based on age which expires on 22 June, but the ADMITTED TO date on my TM6 Departure card, which is 22 August.
This surprised me because by then my visa will have expired so how can it be extended?
Anyway, I am just seeking reassurance that she has not invented some "rules" for herself and that it is the TM6 end date that is the one to work to.
Many thanks
Dave

Not forget to take down trouser before full relaxation, ya?

More to the point I think "religion" and it's trappings are the ruin of Thailand.
Time to "grow up" and stop making everything "Bhudda's problem". Take responsibility for yourselves.

Am I correct in assuming that the letter of Income Confirmation needs to be in Thai rather than English.
I ask because in Thai it costs 3,500 baht but in English only 2250 baht.
From the Embassy website.

"If people need a hand, they can pay for it."
What a little charmer you are, get out of the wrong side of the bed did you?

By current registration do you mean the window sticker with the year on it, sorry to be dim. I am not sure but it looked like 2555 in the second I had to look after getting out of my car and before he took off.

Doesn't the annual Road Tax have details of the owners current address come to think of it?
-
I was rear ended last Saturday, I have the Thai licence plate number and want to trace the owner.
Will the police follow this up, do they have records if the owner has moved since the vehicle was purchased and the book updated with his address?

Many thanks for the info.

I am 70 and currently have a Non O 12 month visa from the UK which I intend to extend on the basis of "pension income" (letter from British Consulate) later this month. Currently I have to do 90 day visa runs to Myanmar, my question is, with the visa extension will I do 90 reporting instead of visa runs.
Thanks for any information on this.

OP, thanks for a great laugh.

What "sacrifice" did you have in mind?
Is it not the "duty" of a monarch to take care of their people?
-
Much better looking than his father.
-
No, I did not have politicians in mind at all. Not sure why you thought that?

More to this than meets the eye?
The US did not know about the locations of the "new" Russian anti-aircraft missiles, and as NATO partner did not tell Turkey?
As somebody else said, is this an attempt by the US to precipitate a "Sarajevo"?
