  1. Surapong said the move would help reconcile Thai people on both sides of the political divide.

For the red shirts, reconciliation is about doing everything that the red shirts want and stuff what everyone else thinks.

EXACTLY! So long as the rule of law does not run contrary to their (red shirt) preconceived notion of what the rule of law actually is....

  2. Mr Surapong said he believed there would not be a rally against the move....

Really? I want some of what he's smoking.

Under the "Rule of Law" the former PM, if issued a Thai Passport, should be arrested on sight should he return to Thailand as he is a fugitive from justice. However, This IS Thailand and we all know that money talks and shit walks.

  3. The PM is in charge..... REALLY? IT looks more like the BKK governor running the show. None of them has a bloody damned clue how to take care of business except the lining of their own pockets....just like politicians everywhere. No brains, no clues and most of all no cares about their countrymen and women.

  4. Pheu Thai Party MP Sunai Jullapongsathorn said Monday that he will file charge with the International Court of Justice next month against the previous government over the killings of 91 people.

Sunai said he would travel to the ICJ on December 9 to file charge against the previous government of the Democrat Party.

Although I do not begrudge this MP a nice trip to my country of birth the Netherlands, it may be good when k. Sunai first checks with the Justice Minister Pol.Gen. Pracha.

    From the ICJ webpage:

    "Jurisdiction

The International Court of Justice acts as a world court. The Court has a dual jurisdiction : it decides, in accordance with international law, disputes of a legal nature that are submitted to it by States (jurisdiction in contentious cases); and it gives advisory opinions on legal questions at the request of the organs of the United Nations or specialized agencies authorized to make such a request (advisory jurisdiction)."

He should expect to get bitten in the ass over this one...

  5. This guy is off to a flying start- spewing crap about something that is beyond his knowledge or control. Should give foreign investors a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

Not to mention that if the current flood waters are still standing when the next monsoon season arrives, this could look like a Saturday night bath if the rains come in the same amounts as this year.

  6. Leon Panetta is another idiot politician who is capable of talking out of both sides of his mouth simultaneously...as are most politicians. The plain fact is that the U.S. Marine advisors who came in to help evaluate things more than likely told them they were screwing the pooch. Then to save face, the government made no request for the assistance that was sitting off shore....and it has now sailed away.

Not too long ago the GW carrier group was stopped in Laem Chabang for several days of shore liberty before going on to SG and one ship to KH for annual exercises.

    AMAZING THAILAND!

  7. Given that this matter has clearly been part of the nation's problems for decades doing something now is definitely closing the barn door once the horses are out. This matter should have been addressed decades ago but apparently no one saw enough money in it to pursue it.

A state of emergency exists but undeclared so the government is powerless to stop anyone who destroys a flood barrier. Perhaps when the rich suffer the same losses as the poor something might get done.....but I ain't holding my breath.

  8. I would be happy to cure him and any other pedo nonces hanging around these parts, but I can't guarantee they will enjoy my methods much........

The 63-year-old has a series of convictions stretching back decades.

I'd be more than happy to help you to cure them in a way that they could (and would) never do it again, I swear....sad.gif

I'd be happy to provide the bullets....

  9. Just because he is resident here doesnt mean he has PR status. You would need to clarify that.

As you are in the USA, I would suggest it may be easier to simply apply for a double entry tourist Visa, each entry valid for 60 days and each entry then extendable by 30 days giving 6 months in total.

Visa's cannot be purchased in Bangkok, you would need to obtain a Visa at a Thai Consulate outside the Kingdom prior to arrival, suggest one of the many consulates in the USA.

Also bare in mind that without a valid Visa issued by a Thai consulate you may have difficulty boarding a flight unless you can show proof of onward travel within 30 days, so save yourself alot of hassle and do it before you leave the US.

The multiple entry tourist visa could be your cheapest option. There is also the multiple entry non-immigrant O visa as well. For a stay of 6 months and only 6 months, the multiple entry tourist visa will only require you to leave the Kingdom once with 2 trips for extension at immigration. The non-immigrant O will only require one border crossing and NO additional trips to immigration. Its a matter of how much red tape you wish to subject your family to for this sojourn.

  10. Red Shirt Philosophy: You are free to campaign anyplace in Thailand for any candidate in Thailand so long as your opinion does not disagree with my preconceived notion of what is right.

Yellow Shirt Philosophy: You are free to campaign anyplace in Thailand for any candidate in Thailand so long as your opinion does not disagree with my preconceived notion of what is right.

All other Shirt Philosophy: You are free to campaign anyplace in Thailand for any candidate in Thailand so long as your opinion does not disagree with my preconceived notion of what is right.

    Seems pretty straight-forward to me....

  11. On a non O with 1 yr validity for example, you either leave every 90 days or report to immigration every 90 days?

No they are not an option - you do 90 day reports when allowed to remain more than 90 days by your permitted to stay stamp and do so - you do not receive more than 90 days on entry unless you extend your stay (with very few exceptions). A multi entry visa does not provide an option of leaving or doing a 90 day address report to stay longer - you must leave or extend.

A non-O (not a retirement extension or like) requires that you leave the country every 90 days.

  12. This topic is about applications for extensions. It is NOT about 90 day reports. Also, this topic is about Jomtien (probably also Chonburi as they are the same outfit) ONLY.

I posted it to help people at JOMTIEN going in for EXTENSION applications to be prepared for more application filling out and also to be sure to have the TWO PHOTOS, and the two copies of the passport ID page.

As I said, they are now requiring people to fill out two forms for a single extension application. Being well dressed and polite or not has absolutely NOTHING to do with it.

All that said being true, being well dressed and polite has EVERYTHING to do with it as I have seen officers toss people out and tell them to go home and change clothes.

  13. The OP needs to say where his reporting office is as it varies between them. Chiang Mai requires signed copies of your passport pages - photo/Visa page, permission to stay page and arrival card. No proof of address required at the moment.

I go to the Jomtien (Pattaya) Immigration.

Then be ready with all the noted documents. 90 day report form, copy of photo page of passport, current visa extension, TM card, proof of residence and be ready to give them anything else they ask for and do so with a smile or they can and will make your life hell.

It also helps if you have your forms already filled out (preferably typed from the Thaivisa provided forms) so the officer can read them.
