  1. Siam Legal have a London office (EC1 area). Tel no. 020 7101 9301. Not sure how effective they will be with this situation, but maybe a good place to start. A few years ago I purchased a condo, and the developer ran out of money, borrowed money using the land as security, defaulted on a payment, and lost the land, meaning we lost the project. One of the guys from this company helped us get the land back in a very long and complicated process. Good luck with your situation.

    Really appreciate your help.

    Regards Palusa.

  2. Is the land in your Thai son's name, or is it in a trust for your son with a Thai guardian, or did you form an illegal company with other foreigner's to hold the land.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

The land was solely in my sons name his mother was the guardian. We did not form any company and signed no agreement as the pair started screwing us from the off using the wifes army connections as a threat to us, the land is paper land only waiting for the next round of chanout papers to be given. The wife said that if we made any trouble for her, her army friends would claim the land and she would get the lot in her name. These are particularly nasty people who had me completely fooled and I always thought as the land was my sons we had nothing to worry about. Like I said I am injured and cant get back so I want legal representation preferably here in the UK.

    Thanks

  3. In a nutshell, I am a Brit, I bought some land for my son (Thai national), agreed a partnership business wise with a fellow Brit and his Thai wife on my sons land. Im in the UK and cant work because of injuries sustained in a car accident. Recently found out the wife has added her name to the land papers in the land office that no one in the office can explain but it still stands. They now claim all my sons land and threaten us never to turn up at the land (She has army connections), they are now in the process of expanding the business without our permission. Im stuck here for the moment and wonder if anyone knows of a Thai lawyer with affiliations in this country (UK) that I could approach to start possible legal proceedings.

  4. If he's running a restaurant why doesn't he get a non -b and a work permit or is he determined to do everything ilegally ?

Was there really a reason to come out with this? What harm is he doing? .What a stupid statement to come out with to get a work permit. If you have been here anytime at all you know its a no go. Why dont people on this forum help each other in stead of being know all doom merchants.

  5. And I have to add that even the most cursory of Google searches would have revealed the issue as it is frequently discussed and well known. It certainly is well known among Philippinas. I find the girlfriends denial of knowledge suspicious.

Well that was a helpful contribution.

I have just googled " What checks does a Philippina lady require to take before leaving for another country" and got NO absoloute ZILTCH referals to this situation or a related published regulation. Maybe my "cursory" button didnt work properly.

  6. I used to live in Mae Sai and visited Chiang Khong and loved it, I have a house and small business up for sale but would love to relocate to Chiang Khong. I dont have a pension or a lot of money but i do have a TEFL and a degree, is there many schools there that employ English teachers?. I am a single dad with a very young son, so would need a nursery as well. I would be able to fend for myself after the house/business is sold but i have a partner who is in no hurry to sell so would need to do something to feed and cloth us both. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  7. I have a freind who is a Thai lady who has just been dumped by her Swedish husband ( marriage registered in Thailand only). He has decided he wanted something a bit younger and has left his wife with nothing and bought a condo for his self and new girlfreind. My question is does this poor lady have any rights concerning property or posessions as they are still married but he just refuses to talk or communicate in any way with his ex wife. This lady was a good girl and it has to be said its the other way to the norm that is usually brought up on Thaivisa.

  8. You make it now sound as if you have shared custody with the child and was legitimized as the father by the court. It is ill-advised to just take the child and run to the UK. You could wind yourself up in a whole lot of trouble by doing that. If the mother is a danger to the child you have a very strong case to get sole custody over the child. If he current lover uses drugs, it will not be looked kindly upon. But you need to have proof of such things. Document everything and get a good lawyer. Also if the mother has custody, it means she has to take care of the child herself. If she let somebody else take care of the child, including the motehr in law, you can simply take the child away and take care of the child yourself. A child is being taken care of by the parents, as you both have custody. She can't let the grandmother take care of the kid if you want to take care of the child yourself.

Thank you Mario, i did share custody with her then she told all in the court she did not want the hassle and said i could keep my son full stop but she did not return to the court office to sign the paper. The court did recognise my son and me as the father and they drafted a contract to that fact that everyone including the ex signed but thats as far as they coud go as we both are not Thai. I am going to see my son this weekend defying all the death threats and if they dont give me access i will go to the police as i still have the original custody papers with my entitlement to custody at weekends. i dont want to run to the UK but i want the option should things get worse. Mario can i get my son a Brit passport without the ex's input?

  9. Yes but the Thai courts can give custody to anyone in the family, so make sure you get the registration done as the legal father.

Since the baby is not Thai, as the mother is stateless, maybe they will not interfere, but you never know with Thailand.

You are exactly right about its up to the Thais to get involved or not. Thankfully the family court prosecutor in Chiang Rai decided to help resolve the matter, after her continuously lying for 3 hours she tripped her self up so many times the courrt went against her but i made an agreement (Yeh I know STUPID is the word you are looking for) she took care of the child 4 days a week and i the weekends but the very first week she didnt bother turning up to pick him up, so, back to court where she stormed out saying she gave me my son 100% but later refused to sign the court papers. 2 weeks later i had an accident and the mother in law came to the hospital and took my son away and now my ex refuses to give him back. Back to court again this friday.

Excuse me guys and thanks for the help but i want to know about the passport and i am on the BC she has admitted in court many times that i am the father of my son and has signed documents to that fact.

  10. Guys i need urgent help. I have a son 16months old, my GF who is stateless has decided to go back to her no good druggy ex. I want to obtain a passport UK for my son but can it be done without the mothers permission? after all i am the dad and i am a Brit. Chiang Mai consulate are very nice but they have changed conditions for my sons passport twice and now want my ex GF to turn up with her temporary ID card even though she is not Thai. Needless to say she wont unless i pay and she has stole nearly everything we had already. Fact is i want to stay here in Thailand but if things get any worse for my son who was black and blue 3 weeks ago i want the ability to take him back home to the UK as a last resort for his protection . By the way she hardly takes care of my son she has dumped him with the Mother in law who actually is nice.

  11. Guys is there any way i can get special permission to have my wife stay with me in the UK. She is border tribe and has only the second class ID card and is not considered full Thai so no Thai passport. We have a child who is 1yr 4 months, I cannot sustain keeping my family here much longer and need to go home. My wife is very upset and insists our baby goes with me as he will have a better future. I dont want to go home without her is there any way you good people can think of or know of that can help her come with me and keep our family together. Regards Palusa

  12. Hi guys, im have inherited a dreambox system, i pay 250 baht a month for , it is used 95 % of the time for my kids cartoons as i am hardly at home and always on the net when i am at home.the last few days the sytem has just about ground to a halt, the shop says that True View is blocking all Dreamboxes, is this right does anyone else have the same prob? is there any solution?. Before the mega righteous have a go i dont want True view , i only want the cartoons and the price True view charge is in my opinion legalised theft as they have the monopoly.I dont want to argue just want to know if there is a way i can get my kids (one is autitistic) their catoons back on the box.

  13. Hi Guys, my problem is my wife/girlfreind (village ceremony only as she has only the Si shampoo card) has decided that life with a baby is too hard and has left me with my son 16 months old, she was Thai Yai and lives on the Mae Sai Tachilek border on the Thai side, she has lived in Thailand all her life and is in line for the full Thai ID card within the next 2-3 years. My son was born in Mae Sai, i am a Brit, my question is can my son be a Thai national?

  14. I'd have a small wager that judging by his mug shot, that he's closer to 16 (or below) than 19 as reported earlier. Let's see!

That's not his 'mug shot', that's his picture from his Thai ID card which he got when he WAS 15... like most Thai kids are legally bound to do.

    Bam!

Another conspiracy theory shot all to buggery!

    Pow!

    Another lost wager!

    Bonus!

Mate i have been trying to follow this tragic story with an open mind but i must say the thing that comes to the forefront of this sad event on TV is your hell bent protection of any adverse comment towards a self admitted crimal (Re: the driver and his admission of speeding)

This forum is by definition a place whereby people comment on different events and ideas, i just wonder with the voracity in your attacks, do you know or work for this family?, because looking at your prejudiced posts it definitley gives reason to come up with this assumption.

(Just my honest opinion, if im allowed to have one)

  15. Fantastic news.I think this is a moment to pay tribute to the Thai leaders (from Thaksin to Abhisit) who have laboured so hard to secure her release and democratic rights for the oppressed people of Burma.Thailand politicians and the Thai army (instead of tying up business deals with the Burmese junta) should be congratulated for their persistent and unflagging efforts. It's also a moment to pay tribute to the moral courage of ASEAN who have never felt bound by the asinine policy of non interference in the internal matters of other members. How we remember with pride the interventions by Thailand when the Burmese generals stole the election and continued through murder and repression to cow the Burmese population.

    If only...

Your dead on with your skit Jayboy, but just watch and see how the leaders of the biggest contributing countries to Burmese misery and slavery put on their false smiles and spout little sentences like "We really were trying behind the scenes, we are so pleased the lady is free", Oh yes they will squirm and lie to try to attach their selves with self righteousness, the repugnent humans they have been over this. Thailand, India and China, you helped enslave a people and raped a country, you three were/are the worst offenders but you will sleep tonight as usual dreaming of your fat bank accounts while a people still suffer and it will be the same tomorrow. You attitude has been disgusting

  16. A couple of weeks ago it was only 500 baht excepted, they will not accept 10 US dollars, it is a scheme they have because they buy the dollars to send to there highers and keep the difference, (my girl has seen them Baht for Dollars in Mae Sai).

If you go on your own its not a lot of hassle (excluding above) but if you have your girl with you, the little sh*ts on the Burma side have started to have a guy on a seat just before you clear the immigration building asking for 200 baht, he is out of uniform but next to the window with the Burma guards watching on, i got just sick of them and refused to pay asking for the commanding officer, next thing i was apologised to and told to go through, just screw the nut and you will be OK.

  17. I have both clone and original and they both work fine, if you want to play dreambox you need to learn how to set them up correctly. Too many people have bought dreamboxes thinking they are going to just plug them in and have tv sorry but it dont work that way. Check out wiki for a really good tutorial to learn from and get started. Oh by the way freezing is only cooling an overheated chipset getting it to work for a short time until it overheats again.

Maybe im just thick but i have tried your suggestion and cant find anything, do you have a link?

Ready to put tongue in cheek. Palusa

Here is one I wrote for all models of DM boxes http://www.pli-image...?wakka=HomePage - take your time as it is huge and covers just about everything but fridges and freezers

    Appreciate the reply. Thanks

  19. I keep coming up against a brick wall with the thai authorities and hope someone can help. I am married to a thai and we have an 18 year old daughter who was born in the UK. We now live in thailand. We went through all the red tape and expense and finally got our daughter a Thai I.D. and passport. Now the Thai immigration say that my daughter still has to report every 90 days and still has to apply for her yearly visa. Immigration also told us she cannot fly out of Thailand on her UK passport and fly back in on her Thai passport. Can anybody help.

  20. Hi palusa, it is dengue-fewer.

Just read they had 1500 cases in Surin. Many up here in CR too.

One of my best friend stayed in hospital 4 days with drip. He had high fewer, pain in all muscles etc etc. Another guy I know had only a little bit fewer.

    :(:o:(

Appreciate the reply, the hospital staff say the strain in Mae Sai is particulary virulent and deadly (as we well know in this family). For FXXKS SAKE anyone coming up here plaster your self with repellant and especially your kids

Can one not get tablets from the pharmacy to counter the lethal effects of these awful critters? I think you need to take them so many days before going to the infected area and so many days after leaving. Thailand should have also declared it a high risk malarial area.

Firts thank for all messages of comfort. My wife is just back from the hospital and says it like a war zone, the place is just swamped with all the worst cases refered to the "Rai" but they are now about capacity as well. I feel for the people across the border who are flooding in to try and get treatment (This is what the nurses have told my wife). There really should be a warning of an official type now given out

Apparently there are no PRE-contracting medicines for Dengue Fever of any real use. (Doctor, Mae Sai hospital)
