  1. I walk the beach daily in Pattaya and in the last week ,3 different time i have seen  the same Jet ski Mafia tugs demanding money for foreigners. This is in front of Mikes shopping mall.... The police showed up each time and did Nothing... Only told them to pay up<div>This will Never end...  The Mayor dose not seem to have any power at all. Just all talk....</div>

  2. It is only 20 minute at the most my motor bike.... I did it every week to go shopping also Big C, Tesco and they have a great open air market also...

Much nicer and Cheaper than Samui... No Mafia Jerks and Taxi rip offs. and the locals are Friendly... Unlike samui..... and so are the Falang... There are some nice beach bare with out the girly's

    Go and Enjoy

cheers sscasamui why are you still samui if chumphon is nice work? think its a must visit.

I am Not on Samui anymore.... There are still some nice places and nice people on Samui but i have had more than my share...I moved there 25 years ago and it has changed so much and for the worse In My opinion.

I will be back to Thung Wua Laen Beach and will most likely buy land there...

  3. Yes, the stores are in Central Chumpon.

For me it's very close on Samui as I live in Chaweng.

I compared Thung Wua Laen Beach vs. Chaweng beach.

Nice for a short holiday, recommended.

but not for a long stay? do not mind doing a weekly shop, so how long do you think it takes to drive from Thung Wua Laen Beach say tesco's i know that sound mad but all help to knowlol

  4. I spent 3 Months at Thungwuallaen Beach... It's about 20 minutes outside Chomphom city There are lots of Bungalows and houses to rent and the Beach is Very nice and clean... There are also some good restaurants. The baht bus goes to Chomphon city and is 30 baht and you can rent motor bikes there as well... It is Much nicer than Samui.. I live on Samui for 19 years... Go there and Enjoy

  5. Chaweng Noi is a very nice beach to the south part of Chaweng... it is not as crowded and good swimming. I can only remember one hotel there... First bungalow, and it is nice but you can internet search it for more and in your price range.... Just be aware that the Songtao's and taxi's will stick it to you. alway ask the price before you get in.... Cheaper to rent a car....

    Have Fun

  6. 300 all week M-Th

    400 Friday

A shame but not surprising. The only one I liked the sound of was the seafood Friday one, but for 400++ I think I would rather go to the Thai open-air place in South Rd twice and have a beer each time! Or even the hotpot buffet in Central, for 285.

Will certainly go and look at the Hilton next Friday though, just to see what they have.

Good... i will be there with ALL my kids...

Mr JefferyMcCollun is very spot on... I also have been doing construction here in Thailand for 20 years and in Hawaii before...

You need your land before you can have an architect design a home.... Also when you do find a contractor you need a good contract and i would recommend that you hire a project manager that is a foreigner that speaks Thai and has a extensive back ground of building in Thailand... As well having experience with contracts...This way he will look after your best interest and that the contractor is following the drawings and doing a quality job....

Believe me All contractors can talk a great story .... But what they will deliver can very Largely.....

Also penalty clauses for not finishing on time are needed to motivate the contractor to finish on time..... Also A Payment plane is important ... Do Not pay till each phase of construction is completed....... Do Not advance payment for Any reason.... i have seen Many contractors get a large advancement and Leave Never to be seen again...

There are good contractors but check with people who they have build for and see the quality and ask if they finished on time and check more than just on client...

Oh ... and make sure You set up a thai company and buy the land thought Your company....

    Good luck to you.....

  8. I think the LAST thing you want to do is be near ANY Thai politicians in the next 3 weeks.

Except Chuan Leek Pai, No rally campaign in Lampang, he visited the local markets, spoke to everyone, listened to everyone (PTP voters included), No visible security protection. My wife told me that a Thaksin addicted family before will vote for Chuan Leek Pai.

Chaun was the best PM this country has seen in my 24 years here. I may be crazy, but I believe that he is an honest man.....

    Hear hear.. I second that....

  9. I guess America had more to offer - or more to take away from Thailand.

And the post regarding the fairness of the American justice system is laughable. Do a little research and you will see the the reality of the harshness of the sentences that are handed out at random in the 'land of the free and home of the brave'.

Yes the justice system in America try's to there hardest to prove you guilty So that the DA can improve his record of sentences given out. You have to spend a Lot of money to prove your self not guilty..,

As an American I know this as fact......
