Soviet/Nazi style abuse of procedure to harass and bully whilst cloaked in legality. A disgrace. It happens all over the world an is used by police and bureaucrats alike. A new low for this regime but there will be more abuses of a wider range of people. Every day she is looking more and more heroic and dignified. It is no wonder that the people's admiration of her is genuine and not enforced by dictate and law. This is how SLORC used to bully and browbeat Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma. But even they did not resort to the sexual slander and sexist abuse used by the yellow shirts to attack the then Prime Minister of Thailand.
Copy of Thaksin?

The Dhammakaya sect is a pseudobuddhist sect, a well known money making engine.
Spend money and you go to paradise - the opposite of the Teaching of the Buddha.

You are right. I promote in my rural country the use of brown, organic and so on rice in a mixture of 30% with the common used white rice.
My neighbours didn't accept at the beginning (high price), but now they say, all has better taste and we are "im" quickly

Why should she even attend!
Her accusers and her judges have no legal status. The coup was illegal and by his own words Suthep and the general conspired months before the coup took place.
The generals and the junta open disdain of the Shinawatras is out in public for all to see so any decision handed down to anyone should be treated for what it is.
Worthless!
Yingluck will not be present to defend herself. We have already have a stuttering parrot here.

The Thai Govt, most likely did not know what was going on,and
if the slim chance they did,did not care.

The prison in Thailand was not a secret, only the tortures, Poland accepts already this explanation.

In the unlikely event the army should ever stage a coup against a Democrat-led government, do you really think, the yellows would be eager to join talks about a new charter with the guys, who removed them from power??
Just as well they dont go! The PTP and UDD idea about democracy are only self centered and have nothing to do with real democracy.
The only problem is that once the martial law is ended they will return screaming injustice and that it was the Armies fault they didnt get to make any input.
Or, they will just find sneaky ways to amend whatever laws and rules to benefit themselves.JOC , you ae volunteer to be eaten at the Safari Park in Chiang Mai? Or you need some propellers to brush up your mind?

flagator96- a good post. I continue concerning th Teaching of Adjahn Thanissaro.
Basic religion of mankind is animism/shamanism - worldwide.
There is the Authentical Buddhism and the Cultural (historic) Buddhism, because Buddhism has the power of integration/assimilation.
Superstition is part of the basic religion. In Thailand it's apparent. Something went wrong with this assimilation.
Farangs buying fake products in Thailand because they have a holy brandname (Rolex, the pimps clock) etc. are not far away.

Why don't they go to Mongolia? Highest developped democracy in Asia. Constitution on the basis of German and French Constitution. Member of the OSCE.
Buddhist country and no Death Penality. They can send OSCE observers for the Elections in Thailand.
No, they would not. After the Teaching of Yingluck about "Democracy" in Mongolia they are not ready for the Thai level.

People always learn the bad words first! Best way to learn a foreign language haha
Right!
The best bad word to learn a german language is " Scheisse" (shit is the castrated word).
40 years ago I was in a welcome commitee of the Goethe Institute for Asean students to learn German in a 3months
course. A Chinese from Indonesia felt down of his seat in the reception ceremony.
A loud answer was his reaction: Scheieieiesssseee.
I helped him to stand up and congratulated him on his good pronounciation of German.
You are Mandarin Chinese? Yes.
I wish you good luck.Only Mandarin Speaker can pronounce correctly : Scheisse!
You can learn German.

Year after year after year...we hear the same old tune about the education system here. Its funny in a sad kind of way. Thais love to call anyting they consider unfashionable or stupid as being 'Laos'......How ironic this is then.....
This REALLY needs to be sorted out NOW! I am working at a government school at the moment......not for much longer because I have had it! Thai schools are, in the main a joke. Thai teachers are dinosaurs that are still using teaching techniques that come from 1937. I often walk past the Thai teachers classes and more often than not they are sitting on their backsides with NO interaction with students! They simply write a load of info on the board and the kids copy it.....after that thier job is done!!!! I would be ashamed to teach in such a way. I feel it is my job to try and engage the students, interact with them, get them questioning me. I am the odd one out it seems.
The head of English at my school is a lovely lady that has a Masters degree in English. I often have to speak Thai with her as, if I dont, she wont understand what I am on about! Unfortunately this is common here. I have only met a handful of Thai English teachers that can actually have a conversation past the level of a 5 or 6 year old. I have to 'teach the teachers' sometimes and guess who are the ones that dont show up???!!!! You guessed it....the Thai English teachers!!! Why? Because its such a MASSIVE loss of face for them to be in a room with a native speaker.....I mean, what if I ask them a question? If I do everyone will see that the reality is that they CANNOT speak English!!! They are the teachers that most need to be there when I am 'teaching the teachers' What hope do the kids have? They see me once a week, twice if they are lucky. The rest of their exposure to English is through these numpties that cannot do their jobs properly.
I am looking forward to AEC opening. Thailand is slowly but surely starting to wake up to the fact that its not the centre of the universe. Its starting to realise that its not looking too good in comparision to its other ASEAN friends. It could go either way, but I am a bit cynical. I think Thailand will do what it always does, it will sweep things under the carpet, it will withdraw from a fight on a level playing field, a fight in which it will most surely ge a very bloody nose. AEC will be just a name, the Thais will find a way to get around all the horrible new rules that will show them up. It will be AEC on paper only. In reality nothing will change. The nepotism that is the cause of so much incomptence here will stay. The sad thing for Thailand is that talented people get cast aside by others with connections, or money. I have so many lovely and smart students in my classes....but so what? The system is against them. I just cannot see this place doing what is required to enable it to really, I mean really compete with places like Singapore. I hope I am wrong.
Am I being cynical? After reading headlines for years and years about how the educations system needs to change...and nothing happening...yes I am being cynical. I think the answer to the problem is clear. If you want an education.....go to Laos!
I agree. I'm English Teacher (no work permit, but Buddhist volunteer ) in a Hill Tribe school. My students (Hmong, Karen, Lisu and Thai) after
one year have a basic knowledge of English and how to use it. Good pronounciation, learning by doing (fish farm, garden, herbs).
I'm supported by the foundation of Princess Sirindhorn as part of intercultural learning.

has anyone explained to these people that it is not murder when soldiers are defending themselves against red shirts and black shirts that started the shooting. Maybe they should be chasing the reds and blacks for starting the shooting because the army only returned fire to protect themselves. They also have to allow for the fact that black shirts and reds were shooting their own people as well, still waiting on ballistic. results/tests that show it was a soldiers gun that killed them and not one used by the reds/black shirts,This was a total farce set up purely to try to influence a pardon for thaksin and when you consider the fact the police never once tried to intervene with the reds at any time and stop it because they were being told what to do by the ptp you start to see that these charges were not possible from the start, how do you charge people for retaliating to save lives, the reds/thaksin created this mess and started the shooting, burning and bombing that led to the retaliation to prevent the deaths of civillians, all these people are the red appologists trying to score points for them, try looking at the ones that actually caused all the deaths, the ptp/reds/thaksin and the black shirts.
It's al rubbish I do realise many are low educated same like you but soldiers can not ever shoot on civilians not even in self defence
Neither can they take control over a country must follow an elected government
So the pebble in office and the general and officers are all in line for a criminal charge
Civilian are not to blame for gorillas hidden among them and can not be killed
That's why democracy is a way to solve for you who don't got a clue it means work together and it can take a long time but it's the only way and nobody gonna get what they want but every body get some of what they want
It's strange so many in here don't know this this is basic and who cares who are in office as long as they are democratic same goes for taksin he is removed illegal no matter if he is wrong or right the army can not do anything the law have to work and taksin must rite out election and if elected the party can go on with a new leader or same if no problem
Civilian must follow police order if don't then there can be problems it's all basic and to prevent this for ever happening again better get the basic right
Educate your keyboard first, may be we low educated posters can understand your postings.

Remark from the country side.
Freedom of religious pratice is on side. I agree with the author.
The other side is to proclaim the benefits of Tambun against the Teaching of the Buddha.
This is cheating the people in the name of the Buddha.
Fact: In my village professional tambun collectors make the round for a (moderate) Dhammagai temple.
Good english, but they tried to involve me, even knowing that I am associated to Budhhist Wat (Buddhdassa lineage)
Sabbe dhamma anatathit!
My "kill"
Yes or no?
They run away.
