  1. yeah i eat watermelon on a daily basis - no adverse effects yet! I eat quite a bit of pineapple too, some girls told me I would have a baby soon with my girlfriend because of this! probably superstition. does Som Tom Tai come with crab "juice" or do you have to ask for it? liver flukes sound nasty, some things are best left in the ocean, or muddy stream where they came from.

  2. Hi, short time listener, 5th time poster.

    I have a question.

I currenly wear glasses and would like to give contact lenses a try while i'm out in Thailand for an extended holiday. I just wondered if anybody had any first hand experience with the Thai prescription contact lenses. Which brand would you recommend for a beginner? i'm quite short sighted. What is the minimium prescription and how much should I be looking to pay. Is there a tourist/farang tax that applies? Does the hot pollution make contacts difficult to wear? what type should i go for? (disposables, weeklys or something else)

    hope to hear,

    R.

  3. Caffeine upsets the bodies natural water balance. A cup of coffee takes out more water than it puts into the body, so you become dehydrated (esp in hot climes). When you go cold turkey, your body has to deal with the lack of caffeine keeping you perky AND the change in water balance.

Green Tea & Herbal infusion teas / Water / Fruit will help stop the headaches.

Heres a thought; when some get a headache they reach for the paracetamol and a glass of water - it is usually the glass of water that cures their headache (dehydration)! We all should drink more water than we do but it is not practical to be going to the loo every hour.

  4. I'm living in Victory Monument, not far from Century "the movie plaza" :. SkyTrain. it is 7,300 per month with a gated enterance (with sleepy security guard) but it would be less if I was staying here longtime! (6,700 6 months+) with water and electricity last months was 8,000. had the air con on because of the computer. checked out a newly built apartment just a stones throw from my current and that is 5,500 + water and electricity so shop around. :o
