  1. Lots of things to take in to consideration.

    1. How old is she
    2. How good is her English because Issan ladies do not learn English in School, believe me
    3. The better her English, the more contact shes had with Farang
    4. Has she had Farang boyfriend before
    5. Are you going to leave Thailand. If the answer to this is yes. Forget her

I live in a quite remote Village in Issan and believe me the number of girls that bring Farang back to village is remarkable, one or two have brought back 3 or 4 guys, I joke you not. Darling love you loooong time.

The best way to find a lady is to not be looking for one in the first place

  2. Its all very easy really! Issan is a big area, could be Khon Kaen or some village miles away from anywhere. Next!! How old is your girlfriend, if she is less than thirty and without children, then her parents are the Gods, Thai ladies are not like western Women, they could never call their parents bad or say anything offending about them, its against the culture.

The family will never see you as anything other than a money source to be milked, even if you'r with her 50 years.

I cant tell you what to do but here is what I done. I said to my wife (girlfriend at the time) I'm going to live in Chang Mai (800 km from family) if you want to come, up to you and I will take care of you and your children and it stops there. no mother, sisters, brothers aunts uncles and all.

She came and brought her 2 children after a lot of moaning from family, leave him find a new Farang don't take the children out of the village and more, Why wont he make a house for mother her sister said, you should leave him.

We have been together now for 11 years and now living back in the village, but they all got the message, this Farang is not going to be milked. Her daughter when only 13 years old told me that the people in the village had told her when she was 10, she was lucky now had Farang father and can have anything she want.

It worked for me the daughters married well and the son in high school and they treat me with lots of respect, they know when I say no I mean it.

But my wife had to weigh up the two scenarios, take care of her and children or get milked by family, we are still together, in issan village.

But I dont think that will work with a younger Thai lady, my wife was 32.

you have to get as far away as possible from the family, friends and village if it is a village and set the rules or you wont just be milked you will be the doormat as well

You can not impress these people, like so many fools try do. don't worry what they say about you or think about you, they will think the same if you give them millions

  3. I make you correct in nearly all you say, except its not always the sex that drives the guy, mostly they have been lonely because that's what happens when you get old. and anything is better than that and its the fact of someone giving them attention that draws them in, sure the girls are excellent at it. It starts at childhood in the villages, learning English comes after.

I know the Girls only to Well, I had a guest house in Chiang Mai, and a shop/bar in K hon Kaen, so I've got to see it from all angles, Girls are looking for money but if people only knew that's normal here, 15 year old marring 40 year old Thais is the villages is normal. I kid you not and that's because he has money and can take care.

For sure any guy of 70 or 60 or 50 for that matter, that thinks a beautiful girl of 25 30 or 35 loves him long time. is just not in tune with reality, that does not make him a penis happy fool.

No I would not make the same mistake (I think) that just makes me feel sorry for him and to wish him luck

  4. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

Same old story, farang arrives, leaves brain on plane, goes crazy with women as he now thinks he's gods gift to women, spends all his cash, cash runs out & he wonders why he's now got no women hanging around.

    Pathetic.

Dont knock it, maybe you are a newbie in Thailand, I have seen it happen to Lawyers from the States, Solicitors (lawyers) from UK chartered accountants (2 of) astute business men and loads and loads of other guys. I don't think they left their brains behind. I just love the "it will never happen to me brigade, I'm to cleaver for that" time makes adjustments.

  5. I like these last two comments, older people are not as stupid as some may think, but all people regardless of age lose their, logic and reasoning to emotions.wai2.gif

How many have done something, when something inside says you shouldn't do that, how many have paid or bought something, when that little thing inside says not a good idea.after all we all know what women are like and especially the Thai ladies, (This is not a slander on women, just the way life is)

but I guess I am the lucky one, I got the good one, we all fool ourselves all the time with this thought. (its really insecurity)giggle.gif

I have been with my Thai wife for 12 years and she takes care well. She likes to nag like they all do. I am 24 years older than her and in the beginning, I told myself that's crazy and honestly she made all the play not I But if it went pop tomorrow that would be no different from any relationship. Thai or Farang.in whatever country

In the beginning I was cautious with the money, trusting no one, but what the hell, I'm in love, she would never do anything wrongcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

  6. OMG blink.png Only a fine rolleyes.gif Amazing Thailand whistling.gif

Fined and banned from picking up passengers at the airport.

Do you want him hanged or something?

Silly comment. To those who know, a pathetic fine and being banned from the airport simply means he will go elsewhere to scam other tourists and unsuspecting visitors (like yourself, perhaps).

People who have been here a while would like these scammers punished enough to make them change their ways, that's all.

  7. Isn't that the same government that said that Bangkok wasn't going to flood? No matter how much the politicians move their mouths and wave their hands they can't reverse the basic laws of physics. The elevation of the water is higher in the north than the elevation of the Gulf of Thailand and , unless they can reverse the laws of Physics, they can't make water flow uphill. Unfortunately along with the long term exposure to the water comes disease, it can't be avoided, only reduced by proper treatment. Since they are already saying it isn't going to be a problem why should they think about preventing it?

I happen to think that many of "the brain-washed" actually think that Thaksin CAN "defy the laws of Physics" after all he can "walk on water" so why not make it "flow up stream" - easy peasy for him ..

They have a ready made answer as to why he didn't do this - just why would he want to send the water back up to the North when all his "believers" live there and a majority of his "detractors" live in the capital???

Convinced???? No!!!!! then I predict that you don't live in the North!! am i right??? What, you do!! ohhhhh dear!!!!!!!!!!

Taksin Paranoid, probably have this post removed as well. Everything that happens in Thailand (maybe the World) is Taksin. Natural disasters people suffering, dieing = mindless poor and Taksin. What a Joke

The topic is serious not always an opportune to voice ones own selfish discriminations

  8. Educated people never cease to amaze me.

Thai attitude!!! They are Farang! Inferior of no importance, tar them all with the same brush (racism)

Farnag attitude!!! They are all African blacks! Inferior of no importance, tar them all with the same brush (racism)

Yes there are a load of so called scum bags out there, Nigerian and Farang, lets not forget the Thais, Tar everyone with the same brush.

    Educated Whoofff.

  9. This one of course is not probably going anywwhere except it has PR value in being a hell of a lot of signatures and it reminds the opponents of Thaksin that there a lot of people who want him back

Perhaps for similar PR value, "the opponents" should compile a list of signatures of all those who don't want him back and free of all charges. Target, two million and one.

Why not? It is difficult to actually get a few million signatures though

Not so hard when you realise that the anti-Thaksinists are more likely to be able to write.

No comments about Thaksin, but living in the North for many years, I haven’t actually met any that could not read and write (Thai that is) people and class bashing again?? That attitude goes a long way for reconciliation and a better Thailand

Why stereotype everyone because they are not like you? Good hearts are healthier than a crippled mind

  10. What a load of lard, maybe some one should point out the fact that there are many people rotting in Thai jails for much lesser crimes, if they decide not to send him to Thailand because it's jails violate human rights, i rest my case with the uselessness of the western world! good enough for an over stayer, it's good enough for a murderer!! :annoyed:

You used the words rotting in Thai jail That is why they will not agree to extradition, Just because he is an animal, should I be one also? makes me on par with him only different circumstances, yes he is an animal

  11. If he gets put in a Thai prison, he may wish he had received the death sentence instead.

    Exactly.

It likely is a fate worse than death,

or death by other means, if he is the arrogant juice-head (steroids) he appears to be. Plus being a Muay Thai fighter, how many will want to prove he is not as good as they are....How long will this nutter last in the general population before his premature exit is assured?

It’s not going to happen, the Human rights court in Europe will not allow extradition to any country that has such appalling conditions as Thailand, Can all dream and cry hang them high, but it’s not going to happen, certain standards in Europe are classed as humane and Thailand does not come up to those standards.

His only detention in UK is on issue of extradition warrant, which will not be met. Britain like many other Western countries can try and convict it’s own citizens for sexual crimes abroad, so why not for murder, maybe a possibility but never extradite for sure. Newspapers print B---S—T to generate emotions and sales

  12. Does anyone know how PHITSANULOK ranks in terms of friendliness towards foreigners? Just curious since I've always thought Thais are friendlier outside of Bangkok. Maybe I'm wrong...but it seems to have been my experience.

Interesting. To conclude, how friendly Thais be in an area, because the body of a western man was found there. When I follow this argument, it seems, Thai people in Pattaya must be very unfriendly. Otherwise not so much foreigners would jump from roofs and get killed... strange logic.

This is not to say Farang do not get involved in their own dangerous activities, it is just one of the scenarios. R.I.P.

    Choose your wife carefuly

Also another great opinion. Someone's dead and you recommend to choose your THAI wife carefully??? You know more then others?

Honestly, when I read most statements here, I'm only wondering. So many prejudgments of people.

It doesn't matter, from which countries those members come, writing something like this. But I'm sure in each of this countries also Thai people were killed and made suicide. So I guess, I also should warn here. Because, if I believe in this statements made here in this thread, I simply have to conclude, we are all unfriendly people. And as for sure most dead Thais in your and our home countries are female, we also should say "choose your (Farang) spouse very careful".

Someone is dead. He could be killed, but he also could have made suicide. We don't know. We only know, what ever is behind this story, it is a sad story. Why such sad stories always be used to make such prejudgements, I won't understand. Do you feel boring? You hate Thais? What you do here (in a Thailand related forum and in Thailand itself), if you think so about people here??? Why???

    My condolences to the family.

Yes It must be that I know more than others,

I have been married to same Thai lady for 8 years, never met a more honest person, it comes from the fact that she has self respect.

But I have seen the scenario of Thai women that could not give a dam_n about their Farang husband other than he is just a money source.

Would I tarnish all Thais with the same brush? Never! But the gambling debts scenario and the collectors/enforcers situation I have come across many times.

Are Thais bad? Is Thailand bad? If I thought that, I would be gone but I am still here

If you think this sounds like suicide, well join the men in brown, your on their wave lenth

  13. Horrific and condolences to next of kin.

Have seen in the North and North East, many situations where the Thai wife and/or family members get involved in heavy gambling or lottery debt. Only to have the enforcers come to the Farang husband for payment.

This and other such activities do go on, some pack thier bags and go (the sensible ones) others pay off the debt and others just get involved, trying to stand thier ground

This is not to say Farang do not get involved in their own dangerous activities, it is just one of the scenarios. R.I.P.

    Choose your wife carefuly

  14. With what they can steal it's roughly a months salary for these guys ($300 USD). No jail time.

Off ya go now fellers - Have a nice day

    Not so.

These policemen were doing an extremely dangerous job, their lives at risk.

Now they have to live with the death of this 9 year old child on their consciences for the rest of their lives.

Part of the fault lays with the commanding officers for not insuring that their police are properly trained in these instances, but the main blame has to be with the mother, who failed to stop her car, putting lives at risk.

It concluded with her innocent child paying the price for the mother's misdeeds.

For sure each of us has a differing opinion about most things.

But this comment leaves me totally Gob Smacked

As I have heard my wife say to many police in Thailand “You are here to protect us, not to rob us” and most certainly not to murder

  15. Yellow shirts + Multi-colored shirts = PAD....these people are the biggest problems facing Thailand today. If they are not eliminated Thailand can never move forward.

No. The biggest problem is the international Global movement that is supporting the reds and Thaksin. And it is they who have created the problems in the first place. The story does not end with the election of the neo fascists. There's a long way to go yet.

Neo fascist?? What you been smoking?? Right wing Haaa

  16. Years ago I was doing a SouthEast Asian Studies course at London Uni and there was a lecture about the role of Karma in Thai society. I asked a question about a hypothetical criminal who kidnapped people and forced them into prostitution and whether his karma would still be 'in the black' if he subsequently made substantial payments to a local temple.

The answer from my Thai professor was that the man's good karma could outweigh his bad. I've never forgotten that. Sometimes it seems that the concept of morality itself is just a western construct.

That is very interesting if I understood you. I think you said that a Thai could decide to engage in the most terrible behavior imaginable if he/she believed that his/her good Karma was much greater than his/her bad Karma. I suppose the Thai might think that even after doing something horrible their good Karma would still be greater than their bad Karma, so, "no problem," steal, kill, lie, cheat, etc.

All the educated people on this thread have got the total wrong definition of Karma,

Karma is a Universal Law, Cause and effect, every action has its effect and consequently every good deed creates a good effect and every bad deed creates a bad effect, one can not be offset by the other.

You may have committed 1000 good deeds in which you will merit 1000 good effects, you may only have committed 1 bad deed, it has still caused the bad effect and that is coming your way, you can not escape it just because your good deeds far outweigh your 1 bad deed. Everything has to be paid for.

What goes around comes around. What you put out is what you get back, that is the Universal law and that is Karma

Maybe I'm misinformed as I'm not christian/catholic but isn't that just what going to church on Sunday and repenting for all your sins to the Priest is about?

  17. The root of the problem is that Buddhism has not managed to inculcate an underlying morality; this, I think, is true of religions/philosophies in most Asian countries, China and Japan being the honourable exceptions.

The only real morality which Thais seem to follow is centred on the family unit, the family being extended to a greater or lesser extent depending on the individual, and in particular on his education. Any Thai who wishes to challenge this, please do; I'd love to learn different.

In the West, two thousand years of Christian ethics has given us an underlying moral system which still largely persists even though Christianity has declined. Most of the Ten Commandments is actually plain common sense (and in this thread I am deliberately excluding the religious precepts).

Where is the difference? You're talking nonsense.

There is no difference between the percepts and the commandments, (except there is 5 more) but the 5 more or less worded different cover the 10

It's been stated many times on the forum by different individuals, they are more animist rather than Buddhist, here in Thailand

But in all religions the majority is the case of the blind (teachers-Priest- Mullahs) etc leading the blind. Occasionally comes one of knowledge but not many.

Morality is taught by all religions, its just a case of who is teaching it

    Not really.

I believe morality is taught to children at a much younger age.

This is achieved through traditional fairy stories, fables, parables and the like.

Many H.C. Andersen tales, Esop's fables and the like teach children the folly of wrong doing.

    Parenting is also key.

I have no doubt that many of us raised in the West have an inherent sense of what is right and wrong, and that this has bugger all to do with religion.

By comparison, I note the completly lassaise faire stance that Thai parents take towards their offspring prior to sending them to an almost militarised education.

I would be interested know if Thai kids get to hear fairy tales or fables. Anyone know?

You should see the behavior pattern of some of the children in the more deprived areas of Britain and I am sure the USA has the same.

Not everyone was brought up on fairy stories, many on horror stories, that sums up the higher moral ground. See them in Pataya/ Phuket

  18. Corruption in the west is as high as it is anywhere, it is just played at a different level, Offer a police officer $50 or 100 pounds GBP and you’re likely to get arrested and go to jail, But if you’re a big drug dealer and pass across 1m then they take it and your off the hook, (if they can)

Same in business in the West, at the top of the ladder it goes on at the bottom it does not, simply because the stakes are not high enough, could be called greed, Now there is a good religious teaching, never be corrupt unless the stakes are high enough. Who was it that said “A rich man can never enter the Kingdom of Heaven” I forget (facetious)
