So all the paperwork for numerous police investigations on-going and past destroyed presumably. Very convenient. A blaze like this has to be looked upon with the upmost suspicion particularly in a country like Thailand.

Funny how the officially released figures detail "vaccinated" or "unvaccinated". If you've died of covid then you've died of covid and your vaccination status shouldn't have anything to do with it unless you're trying to prove a point.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Well you won't believe this but I decided to email them again this afternoon using my existing email provider (yahoo.com) and received an automated response back within an hour.
I had originally contacted them twice using a new email account I had set up with GMX Mail and had heard nothing. So the problem must have been with GMX Mail even though the emails I "sent" to them were in the "sent folder". I had even successfully exchanged emails between these two accounts (to myself) but for some reason there must be an issue either sending emails to VFS or receiving emails from them using GMX Mail. I guess I made a mistake trusting this dodgy free email.

Ten days ago I sent an email to <[email protected]> to book an appointment to renew my passport. I included in the email everything they asked for: name - date of birth - contact number - three preferred dates and times - but to date I have heard nothing back from them. Has anyone had recent experience in booking an appointment with them (Bangkok office)? Thanks.

Haven't received any post from around the 22nd. of December in my area of Bangkok which is on the outskirts of the city. No sign either of the postman (on motorcycle) who I normally notice at least two or three times a week in that time. My wife mentioned that some of the postal workers tested positive at Prapadeaeng PO a week or two ago. That has probably something to do with it. Anyone else in Bangkok experiencing similar lately?

After the assistant manager of a famous bank in Pattaya was notified by the agency bank until he was taken to prison at the beginning of the month last Feb. After the bank documents were burned and the evidence was damaged.

"After the bank documents were burned and the evidence was damaged." I presume this was the handy work of the accused in an attempt to hide his tracks.

Can't see how the bank was unaware of what was going on if the depositors were issued bank books with their current balances showing. Surely that meant their funds were in the bank's system. Maybe their accounts were joint accounts with the accused. Assuming they were allowed to keep their bank books in the first place.

Thai presumably only focused on the foreigner. Not interested in getting money from the Thais he was with. Nasty racist attack if that was the case.

Anyone have any idea of how many schools (roughly) have re-opened in Bangkok? (or Thailand for that matter) I'm finding it hard to find information about this. Thank you.

Yes and I don’t expect it to go away anytime soon. I haven’t seen anyone not wearing their masks when walking around Bangkok. A few have it under their chin, but not many
"....under their chin, but not many" I call that position "the low-ready". Ready to lift your mask whenever entering somewhere that requires a mask or if you see a policeman approaching.

A lot of the charging accounts seem IT related.
I wonder if this is somehow related to the collection of VAT for "Digital Services" as of 1 Sep? And some API allowed for a hack?

Makes you wonder.

MedPark hospital in Klong Toei (Bangkok) as of yesterday (Wednesday 06 October) is now accepting registrations for Covid-19 free government sponsored vaccination for expats only. 18+ and no previous vaccination are the requirements. Strictly no Thais. I successfully registered today. if anyone's interested I'd be quick as the first three days of the vaccination program are already full with what looks like seven or so remaining days after that. Registrants can chose between Astra Zeneca or Pfizer.

My last two reports were at Impact as well, and I can't report online. I wonder if Impact being something of (I think) a temporary office has anything to do with it?
Yes this is what I think too. Those that are able to successfully report online now (after reporting in person at their local Immigration office the time before) are those that are not using Impact.

Same here. About eight online reports in the past. Last one in person at Maung Thong Thani In March. Have just tried with Chrome - Internet Explorer - Flash Peak Slim Browser. No change in personal details since last report and now. No luck. Hopeless situation.

There's a six and a half minute report on the accident with video on
THAI TODAY NEWS YouTube channel if anyone's interested. Concludes with dashcam footage of another motorist pulling up on the scene of the accident on the other side of the road.

Are you sure you didn't follow a fake message and downloaded and installed a virus?
LINEs official website is line.me including a download link for Windows.
I downloaded and installed Line on my other desktop (Dell) and it was exactly the same with the pop-up. Ran Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Avira anti-virus on Compaq. Problem still persisted. So uninstalled and then re-installed Line again and the problem was fixed.
No idea what happened. The problem could be to do with a couple of Power Point files (.pptx) - a jpg file - and Google Drive pdf file that I downloaded and opened immediately before the problem occurred. All sent from a school through Line.
But I think you're right. It was a virus and fake message picked up from somewhere. Anyway much thanks for the advice.

"Line app. no longer supports windows 7 and 8. Please click below to download the latest compatible version."
I was using Line on my desktop earlier today and no problems. Then suddenly when I went to re-open the app earlier this evening a pop-up appeared with the above message. The app can no longer be accessed although Line is working okay on my mobile. (same a/c)
I guess I will lose all chat history that preceded my downloading of the Line app on my mobile. Annoying. (mobile: chat history backed-up daily)
Has anyone else experienced this??

I got hit with a ransomware attack last September. (05 September 2020 at around 18.00 PM Thai time). DJVU/STOP variant. All files on one of my computers were encrypted without me knowing at the time (.boop extension). Mainly media files (avi and mp4) and audio (mp3) and jpg and txt files. I don't know how they got in as I was running Windows firewall - real time windows protection was enabled - and I'm very careful about what programs I download and open etc. Anyway the good news is that it is only the first 250 KB of each file that is encrypted (I think that's the correct figure) and there is some free software out there that can recover your media files (mp4 - avi - mp3 etc) if you have good reference files (unencrypted) at your disposal. (check Disktuna on YouTube - he has some great free stuff)

Yep I just checked again. Link not working as everybody knows already. I guess the regular daily - twice daily - three times daily updates reconfirming the status of the online 90 day reporting (still not working) are useful.

90-day reporting online is still defective today 20201220.
Correct. Just tried again. Still defective. As of 16.00 PM (Thai time).

Yep..getting the same message:" For further information regarding The 90-day Notification Report Service, please contact the Immigration Branch Office in your residence area."
Tried Opera and Brave internet browsers. Same notification. Extended my visa after my last 90-day report so I guess that is the problem as many others have reported. Will try again at the weekend.

Water has resumed at long last. Only took five days to do so. But no mention of the problem on Thai television (according to my wife) but thousands of households affected. Deliberate news blackout I wonder??

QUOTE: "Ornuma "Khru Jum" Plodprong, the first teacher who was accused of abusing students, recently filed a police complaint against a student’s parents for allegedly assaulting her." Is there any foundation to this accusation I wonder?? You can be sure that Sarasas will be giving Ornuma Plodprong assistance - financial or legal or both - in any legal action against the parents such is their contempt for the complaining parents.

Shameful behaviour by the police and as a previous poster mentioned; undoubtedly complicit.
