100% only submit a Marriage Extension with a minimum 12 months validity. Failing to produce a Passport with less than 12 months validity will result in you being granted the extension for the period of time remaining in your current passport. I know this as I was silly enough to do it with a passport with 5 months remaining and then had to repeat the process once I obtained the new passport. The extension you are applying for is non_ transferable to a new passport.

This is a common issue in Thailand. Copper has value hence the reason clowns knock them off. Recently some cable that runs a large water pumping station supply to the village was removed so no water available till new underground cable could be installed ( lesson learned buried cables now in place). Also aware of a vacant house in a northern village was broken into for the sole purpose of removing cable. Walls & ceilings smashed in to extract the cable whilst white goods & other items left alone.
