why should the majority respect the minority opposition now, they never listened in the past?

do you remember all the good things she said when coming to power, like,,,to be PM for all Thais, she wants to reconcile and reforme, the advertisement for her said that she has management experience and can manage the governement...nothing became true...whenever there was a difficult session in the parliament her ministers sent her away...and she was jetsetting with very important people telling them lies nobody could understand,,,,,and so on
hope the Thai poeple realise how incompetent she is and really vote her away...and i think it was a big mistake of the opposition to boycott the election instead of attacking with facts and figures and clear statements...and especially giving the voters an alternative which they actally do not have

Seems people including Red Shirts are upset with their daily lives being destroyed by protesters. Even Red Shirts need to earn a living either driving vans or taxis.
do not be foolish they are paid around 500BHT per day to protest
-
of course you are a minority because you are not paying 500BHT a day as the red shirts do...right now they are spreading the word through our villages hear in the deapest Northeast offering to the people if they are going to BKK 500BHT a day. And it is true for many the best what they can do to get some money and it has nothing to do with their political ideas...they have none
-
None of this would be necessary if the elites in Bangkok weren't such bad losers and poor sports. Elections have consequences. The anti-government protesters need to respect the votes of the winning majority.
sorry my dear the problem here is that in a true democracy even the majority has to listen to minorities and try to find compromises for bringing as much poeple as possible on the same trian....but never saw something like that from the actual governemnet
-
the basic idea to support the farmers is right...but the problem is the method is costing the total thai economy too much
the bsaic idea to have good railway system is right...but the problem is highspeed trains are not giving any support to transport goods and people to a reasonable price...highspeed trtains make sence when there is a good basic railways system working like in Japan, France and so
the real problem is that the governement is incompetent because not listening to the people

a typical representant of a mediocre educated guy who never learnt history right and is not learning anything just the same as the whole governement....thinking only they know what is right..... about reform process they had more than 2 years time to start something seriously...but did not do anything... no wonder nobody with a little common sense trust them anymore
-
as usual you can proof anything with statistics,,,,,that whole thing cannot be true, it was surely financed by the governement which needs badly some positive news!!!!!...looking at the matayom school in our town having more than 1500 students,,,but not enough classrooms(over 50 kids per class) not enough desks, many have to sit on the floors, very dirty toilets and not enough of them... they are building since one year a new school but not finished yet...where here in THAILAND Tesco can build a complete new shop in 2 months
do not talk about the ridiculous tablet story, money clearly wasted

What has that governement to show after 2 years concerning sustainable improvements for all thais......NOTHING......what they can show how to favour certain groups of the people by spendiung money with no sustainable effect...the rice pledging scheme could have sustainable effect with the farmers...but it teaches them to spend more...what will happen if that stops????? they will all cry ....and the sadest is that only a relatively small amount of that money of ALL tax payers spent reaches the farmers
sustainable would be
schools
hospitals
roads and accident prevention (actually only a lip confression)
railways (but not high speed trains which only a few thais will be able to pay the fares)
flood prevention (but well thought projects not just bribe money)
and what has the PM done....she was just missing when the debates happened in the parliament
so it does not make a difference if she is there or not !!!!! right now she is just the symbol of the inefficiency of the governement and the only person the stupid opposition can attack

sorry i do not see it as a strugle of the poor and uneducated against an elite,,,,,,,it is a group of people keeping the the poor poor and stupid and misusing them for their advatage...and the future generations will have to pay the debts!!!
what has the governement to show in improvements for all thai poeple (they had 2 years time)?....., like improving education (tablets which is ridiculous)?, hospitals?, help for the elderly?, railways? (thais do not need highspeed trains, people cannot pay for), roads?, reducing accidents (lip serving only)? and so on............very poor record indeed....but very good record in wasting money and shortcutting legal ways!!!!
but they have prefered to always just do good things for one part of the population, like rice farmers, first car buyers, first home buyers (only for the ones who can afford it), some loans and money to certain communities (only the red towns profit)
it is the missing mind set (i might even say of all the thais, therefore at the end they got the governement they are deserving)....and especially of politicians...a majority in a democracy is no free ticket not to listen to the opposition (which is needed to find better solutions)...it should be an absolute obligation to find compromises and include as much people as possible from any political colour to have well thought and wide supported solutions, where benefit as many people as possible (and not only a few)
sad again the ruling party and actual governement are not able to learn

Before the scheme the rice exporters had aknowledged a lot of Know How, such as how to find and treat clients, how to get payed in time, how to export the rice (including all paperwork) by rail, ship, container, you name it.
Sell rice and Mr. white lie can pay the farmers!!!!
Then suddenly unexperienced bureaucrats should do it and should know all that right now and especially know how to get a good deal.......just a little a common sense could tell you that the defeat and chaos was unavoidable. The governement is still not willing to learn anything, ...they would loose their face, if they would change the system now, a deadly sin in the land of smiles.
Sad is, even a new governement would/could not do it better

no single true word about doing a better job when reelected........how stupid must thai people be not to see the lack of any serious insight, no they really bring back all the shins on the list. 2014 will be a bumpy year for thailand with other countries loosing trust

that is one of the best articles i read since a long time, putting the finger into the open wound, i am disappointed by the parties not fighting for votes, they should have a fair chance to beat the shins, many do see the problem with them
-
the governement must be really desperate to go that far
-
i do not believe a word of what she is saying, there is no sincerety in that governement, never was able to say "yes we have made mistakes, we will do better....

politicians once in power think they have the right to get the money back they spent to be elected and find nothing wrong with devating public money into their own pockets, a very deep rooted problem touching ethics and honesty.
taking the vote right away from the poor and uneducated was a discussion ion every democracy. in switzerland there was the discussion that the matters to vote about are too complicated fro them....however do not underestimate the instinct of the voters....in many votings they proffed to be right in switzerland
-
the governement got a poeples mandate democratically, no question about that, but they were and are abusing this mandate to favour some groups of the population and to fill their own pockets, so by that abuse they lost their legimity, however better educated peopel would see the truth, so the governement does nothing to educate the people better. with the polls we will get the same shit again.
anyway this would be a chance for a new party which should fight for votes
-
what is this bullshit, thais are so proud of themselves they never listen to anybody not thai
-
the governement must be really desperate to start that kind of measures. they never froze the money coming to pay the red shirts four years ago

everybody is overestimating the impact of tourism look at the GDP figures and you will see that industry is the biggest and farming is still much bigger than tourism, so what a few percent in tourism is nothing against the loss of trust of the money people fleeing the BHT, right now the BHT is cheeper than ever and for me living here i am profiting

whenever it got hairy in the past, the faces behind her who have the real power sent her away, because she is never able to lead a constructive meeting against people who are so much more intellignet than she is, people who have done their homework. it is very convienient to hide for the thaksim croonies behind her lovely face that is why they want to keep her.
i see dark times coming, very sad
-
in a priate company she would have been sacked a long time ago for missing performance, tears over what???? over all the missed opportunities to really lead the country....but woman tears are always a strong weapon, however needs some practising in front of a mirror hihihihi

nothing will come out of it they are all iron heads not able to think out of their box
Rice-pledge catastrophe could be final straw for Thailand

something i do not understand, actually the worldmarket price is about 14500BTH per ton. why cannot they sell rice and get the money back to the farmers?
well it is obvious bureaucrats are no rice dealers,,,and the rice dealers want their share, which will be anywhere between 20% and 30%, the storage/transportation costs another 1-3% and the rice millers will take their share too and from the milled ton aroudn 800kg will be left for sale and there will be a quality price reduction because the rice is old , i figure as a simple minded person, if the governement is selling rice they might get a net price of maybe 50% of the worldmarket price for every pledged ton.....so every ton they pledge will be subsidised with around 7 to 8000 BHT tax payers money...............imagine how much of sustainable good they could have done for hospitals and schools and even when paying direct to the farmers 3000BHT per ton subsidy even then!!!!......."my Buddha"
