  1. I have lived in Jomtien for 8 years... The baht bus has ALWAYS been 10 baht until you get to Pattaya Tai and then ANOTHER 10 baht past that....

Girlfriend and I went to Pattaya Tai for the fireworks and it was 10 baht each.

  2. The tex mex place on soi 7.

If you mean Tequila Reef..... DON'T DO IT!!! Nasty, Terrible, Horrible... I went there with my girlfriend last year.. Food was COLD, Dry, Old... Pumpkin Pie crust wasn't even fully cooked. We both spit the pie back out on the plate it was so nasty. About the only thing good I can say was that the staff were o.k.

  3. DON'T DO IT!!!! I made the mistake of having my yearly vitamin supply shipped her from the U.S. a couple of years ago. An extra 120 dollars in shipping. Another $100+ from the customs <deleted>.....

Not worth it. If you can't bring them here yourself when you fly back, then it is actually cheaper to buy them here.

  4. I hope so... THE WORST EXCUSE FOR MEXICAN FOOD IN THE WORLD....

They probably we closed so they could make the food for the Holloween buffet... That way it can be cold, undercooked and NASTY just like the Thanksgiving buffet....

  5. There is a pharmacy in Rhompoe Market that has a good selection of several brands of protein. I am not sure about the prices as I don't use it, BUT their prices for medications are the cheapest I have found in Pattaya. Good guy too. He will order things for you. My blood pressure medication is 145 baht a box from him and the cheapest I could find anywhere else was 185 and 245.

  6. Just north of Tesco on Sukhumvit is a Thai restaurant that is excellent. After you go past the intersection of Sukhimvit and Thepprasit there is another light about a block north... The first left turn after that will take you into the side street that accesses parking for this restaurant. The food is ALWAYS consistently good. One of the things I usually order is breaded deep friend squid. It ALWAYS comes out golden brown. They never use the oil too long to where it comes out dark brown from old oil. Everything is well prepared, reasonably priced and served quickly. Don't know the name as it is Thai. They open at 17:00 and stay open till 3:00 am...

    Well worth the trip.

  7. Tesco has canned Hormel chile. You can spice it up with a little chile powder if you want. I get a Jones for chile dogs once in a while, so I buy the cheese sausages and some extra cheese, chop up some onion and dump the whole mess on a chewy roll...

  8. Jomtien Beach Condos have several units for rent. I have owned a condo here for 8 years and it is a nice community. Two pools and workout areas (although one is being refurbished), good security, clean, good maintenance. You can probably get one for 10,000 or less per month plus utilities.

  9. Does anyone know where I can get pipe supplies like pipe cleaners and screens? I am looking for those wire-like fuzzy things you run down the pipe stem to clean it out and the screens for a pipe like they use in water faucets to catch the junk in the water.

    Thanks in advance

  10. Is there somewhere in Pattaya that can take care of the car ownership transfer papers OTHER than the DLT out by Regents?

I have someone in BKK wanting to buy my car but they don't want to have to come back to Pattaya to do the paperwork. DLT is only open Mon - Fri 8:30 to 15:30. They work so getting here before DLT closes might be a problem.

    Thanks in Advance....

  11. The best value for the money is the nissan almera. at a little over 600K you can get a loaded version with almost everything. I live in Pattaya and the dealer here wasn't giving away anything, so I e-mailed several dealers telling them what I wanted. Two in BKK responded that they could deal. A great car... Unfortunately the ex got it when I kicked her out. I have another one now and I think they are great cars.

  12. Degree and experience get into a position at 50k or higher...those places that pay 35k are usually for non degree or non natives. In the meantime hit up corporate part time evening stuff

NOT TRUE.... it depends on the school and what they can get away with. I have been teaching in Thailand for 8 years. I started out at 25K cash under the table because the school was too cheap to get a work permit. 50K jobs are a rarity. I work in Pattaya and have been with the same company for 6 years now (Private Thai School) and only make 45... AND THEY PAY WELL FOR PATTAYA.
